    I’m a huge Rory fan , so this is a real treat …. Also captures everything one has to know about Rory and his music ..I remember hearing Crest of a Wave as a kid and was blown away by the intensity of his playing also the deep melancholy which you can find in all his songs… so 🙏 ✨ for bringing Rory to your audience … I hope people will dig into this … there’s a little mistake I’ve heard here … Rory underwent a liver transplant in April 95 not 1990 … due to liver damage caused by the intake of pills, paracetamol and drink … sad thing

    Excellent doc, thanks for covering his amp and pedal choices. I saw Rory in Montreal, September 1973 at the Capital theatre. He did 2 shows one at 7, the following at 10. Opening was John Hammond Jr and Freddie King.
    Needless to say the place was going crazy. Rory should be on everyone's top five list.

      Thank you so much Norm! That had to have been awesome to see him during that time period. What a lineup as well! I appreciate the kind words and I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

    Thankyou for this, I was lucky enough to have a older brother who had a few records of Rory's which influenced my taste of blues & rock. I got to see Rory when he came to New Zealand which certainly was a Blast. I started collecting Rory records also and sadly was lucky enough to inherit my brothers records as well. I ended up being in a garage/pub band and I was able to incorporate a couple of Rory's songs in our list of cover's I sung. Forever in our thoughts is our legend Rory Gallagher ❤

    Great article on Rory Jimmy.....I saw Rory thirteen times with every gig amazing and what a guitarist....nowadays he's known as "the greatest guitarist you've never seen". He never made singles, was always an albums man. David McF\arlane (Blues 345) sorry I lost touch with you as I changed my channel name. Like 16.

      Great to hear from you buddy - that was awesome that you got to see him live, 13 times nonetheless!!! Rory did it his way - which is so respectable. I'm glad people are still digging on his work today. Thanks so much for stopping by ...always great to see you!

    When Jimi Hendrix had become the toast of the town. A journalist asked Hendrix: “What’s it was like to be the best rock guitarist in the world?” Jimi then beautifully responded: “I don’t know, you’ll have to ask Rory Gallagher”. Rory could do it all and without doubt one of the greatest live performers in rock music.

    One of the greatest players of all time. He, like Roy Clark, could do it all, and do it exceptionally well. I put him in the same GOAT level where Jimi, Stevie, and Roy hang out.

    • @guitarmeetsscience
      @guitarmeetsscience  5 дней назад

      I hear you - they're not great for attack except for maybe when doing either clean interludes or some kind of quick psychedelic swirling effect to transition between two parts of a song. The good old Wah .... Cannot beat that!
