I was absolutely obsessed with this as a 13 year old, and still am two decades later. John Powell can be blamed for getting me into film scoring, but I didn't know he was involved with this until really recently.
The music for this movie is brilliant! This one in particular always made me smile and I still remembered the melody years later, beause it's just so weird and catchy and totally unique. ^^
This is one of my favorite movies I watched as a kid, but I somewhat agree that I couldn't even begin to comprehend the messages being presented, like going against the pack, anti militarism, and open mindedness to new cultures (the wasps)
I’d have thought that their prescription against authoritarianism was class action, as predicted by Marx. They literally say “It’s the workers who should sieze the means of production”
@@gabrielegenota1480Then workers ownership is protected by whom? Someone other than a government? 'Worker' control over productions just means government control over production, another form of authoritarianism, regardless of what Marx's crackpot intellectual swindling says it is.
It's so awesome how Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic) said "Antz" had much better story, better characters and better voice acting than "A Bug's Life". "Antz" is no doubt a classic and so is this particular track to the score, get goosebumps listening to it every time I play it...

Whoa, shit! Flashback!!! This tune just popped into my head without reason. And so my quest to find this wonderful piece of music began. Love it. Brings memories
I remember having a heated discussion, with two of my friends, about whether Antz or A Bug's Life was the superior movie. I was for the former, while the other two were for the latter. I obviously mentioned the wonderful and memorable soundtrack, the characterisation, the use of CGI and the setting, the much more thrilling story, and obviously the message that one should choose their destiny and not be forced to and be a sheep, whereas A Bug's Life just had an anti-bullying message or something (yawn). Their only argument against this film was that it was ugly compared to A Bug's Life. However, they were adamant about proclaiming how Antz was terrible.
I think the main advantage A Bug's Life has is that it's the more family-friendly option. Antz has a high death count and features a lot of swearing. ABL is more colorful and kids can probably relate to the characters more in that film. Both are a lot of fun to watch though.
Actually, A Bug's Life was about standing up to governmental tyranny. A perfect message for the people of today, since they aren't doing anything about the tyranny evolving from this so-called pandemic.
I remember watching this movie as a kid. I watched it again yesterday, and when this song started, I found myself humming along. Thank you for uploading!

Featuring a stellar voice cast, technically dazzling animation, and loads of good humor, Antz should delight both children and adults.
