And have seen and heard them asking the viewer (if they were watching and if they were interested in that product) to send check or money order to "P.O. Box 1618 or TV 48 Greensboro, N.C. 27402." Well, before AMAZON as we know it, before it was known as WMYV MY 48, before it was known as WUPN, before WGGT moved its studios from 330 S. Greene St. in Greensboro to 3500 Myer Lee Dr. in Winston-Salem where WNRW/WXLV TV 45 studios are... You could say WGGT-TV 48 was the AMAZON delivery service for the Piedmont-Triad as well as some adjacent Virginia counties if they could pick up WGGT's signal. But this was basically a means to generate some revenue just to stay afloat. Running an Independent TV station both studio and transmitter site alike in the 80s without any form of revenue, wasn't cheap.
