Great reviews, appreciate the walkthrough. Had a similar experience at Cagney's on the Viva last month where the steaks were great, but everything else was "meh." The salads and soups especially. It really didn't feel as elevated as Steakhouses on other cruise lines.
Love dining with y'all! By that, I mean me eating my McDonald's while y'all enjoy a gourmet feast! All looked wonderful, never heard of Onda before but it sounds like something I'd like to try!
I'm sailing on the Jade next month for my birthday and we already have reservations at Cagney's for my birthday dinner! Can't wait for the prime rib! Living in New Mexico, we can get the best Mexican food at home, so I'm leaning toward Le Bistro as a second specialty dining night. I liked the teppanyaki on the Bliss, but was disappointed by Onda on the Encore. However, any meal on a cruise is better than cooking at home!
Great review. I tried Onda, Palomar and Food Republic in April on the Viva. Loved Food Republic and was disappointed with Onda (steak was tough) and Palomar- just ok.
Your picks of specialty dining would be my picks too. Cagneys always good and the bread at Onda is a yummy meal itself. Many years ago on Cruise Critic there was a discussion about the Fisherman's platter at Cagneys how skimpy it was. Believe it or not it looks like they threw on an extra piece or two compared to years past. Never met anyone that thought that platter was worth it.
Just out of Curiosity... WHY did you pay a la carte for Matthew at all 4 specialty dining venues rather than pre-purchasing dining package (2, 3 or even 4 meals) before the cruise? I understand the "free at sea" dining perk only applies to first 2 guests, but we've taken our adult kids with us on NCL cruises more than once and have always added dining packages for 3rd-4th guest. You've been on Prima before (also Viva) and probably knew which dining venues you'd select (Cagney's, Onda, etc.) Other than Hasuki (set $59 charge) why not pay for the 2 or 3-meal package for Matthew in advance of the cruise rather than paying a la carte? Just wondering... maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years?
Great question. For us, it's cheaper that way because Matthew usually doesn't eat an appetizer or salad, he just gets an entree, and sometimes dessert. He's a very light eater. Thanks for watching!!!
same question, it might be cheaper if the 3rd person is light eater unless he/she is ordering the same like you then a dinning package would be worth it. I am thinking if I should purchase a specialty dinning package for the 3rd person for my coming cruise at prima. Advise always welcome. thanks for sharing the video.
Detailed food reviews are my favourite.
Cagney's is my favorite on NCL ships!!
Sharon!
Mmmmm all looked great.

Brilliant info; thanks ❤ Just about to book dining for our upcoming trip on Prima, so very timely. 😊
Great video! I love the specialty dining on NCL. My regulars are Cagney’s, LeBistro, LaCucina, and possibly Moderno.

Love the narration & Dining review.. We enjoyed Cagney’s on the NCL Joy… soooo good 😊.. We might be planning on NCL Diva or Prima in the winter 🤟🙏
Great video, thanks for sharing! I love the red dress you wore to Scarpetta’s. Could you share a link?

Onda is our new favorite specialty restaurant on NCL

Carnival Steakhouse is consistently great. Been many times. Royal, Princess and Celebrity don't match it.
