This plane has a 582 Rotax,,water cooled and 65 hp rated, The engine has been optional for the past few years. I would think that most carry the 503 air cooled engine rated at 52 hp. Cost being the main deciding factor possibly. Along with how often you fly two up and at max load. I run the 503 and fly solo because weight is at the lower end of the spectrum. Cruise at around 70 mph at 5400 rpm.
@Mushenzi The aileron is inboard from the fiberglass wingtip and the branches were not that thick. I would have been more concerned with scratching the paint on my new plane. If you notice, Mike used the flaperon crank to move the ailerons, in effect, doing a control check. Had there been a problem there would have been resistance to turning the crank. His friend was also observing the aileron movement so I don't feel anything unsafe occured prior to taking off. Do trim the tree though
I dont see much difference in the cruise at the desired RPM,,mine is about 5700rpm,,,,,the floats seem to make the plane as they say,,, I cruise at about 68 mph, at that rpm,,,!

How do you get 70 mph at 5400?

narmac01 is that far part 103 legal?
@@01dixieforever01 Kyle,, I am not sure what you mean.
In Canada we are under Transport Canada Regs,,,
narmac01 is it part 103 ultralight legal. In other words do you need a sports pilot license to fly it?
nothing happens until 2:30
Takeoff procedure, stick back into ur groin, hold it there, then apply full throttle. Any other way causes way more takeoff run than necessary
582,,, a very short TBO.
Nice plane, but certainly not a ultralight..
it used to be categorized as one until the Light Sport rules came out if i remember correctly, at least in the us that is
