God bless you for mentioning Picnik. They were _so_ ahead of their time. I think ChaCha deserves a shout-out at some point, too. The very idea of asking your phone a random question and getting the answer back from ChaCha!? We were _literally_ the Jetsons.
The bubble dresses 😂😂 I always questioned them but wore them anyway, though 2009 was 3 years before I stopped keeping up with trends and stayed forever in the 90s and early 00s and now that's all back in 😂
I’m really glad that glasses came back into style around this time, and the small rectangle ones were flattering. I’ve been wearing glasses since kindergarten and was always self-conscious about them. I felt great knowing I was finally wearing something “trendy” with the small rectangle glasses
I sincerely do not understand questioning pictures like this. You look a million times better than I look now and so much cooler than I did then. Come on.
As the side part was in style my hair decided to go very gray in a spot that is hidden with a side part. I can middle part it now if I want to look ten years older.
I still like all if those outfits you looked adorable in all if them! I think people should wear what makes them happy. Who cares about trends anymore.
I love that you have that through line of All American Girlie present in all of your fashion eras. You're one of us, yet ever photogenic and extra enthusiastic to ride the trends hard! Funtastic!
It is so funny to hear you ripping on 2009 sorority girl you because 2009 HS freshman me (who could only afford to shop at Salvation Army) absolutely ADORED you ❤
Did you take these from my Facebook?? This is literally identical to my own Facebook, from the bubble dresses to the piknic edits. I genuinely attribute my bizarre bald spots to the insane side part we all forced our scalps into
The foldover yoga pants were comfy, but didn't work so well working out in because I'd have to keep pulling them up😂 I didn't have any bubble hem dresses, however I had MANY bubble hem going out tops
Honey, you dressed much better than how people are dressing today. You'd be surprised if there are people appropriately dressed today, and we all go through fashion phases.
The teeny tiny glasses are way better than the giant coke bottles in style now. I lived there the 80s and 90s. Kids are not gonna look back at the giant glasses phase fondly.
There used to be this store my campus called Pitaya i think it burned down actually and it was all over priced bubblehem LOL. It was 2NE1 quality but it was so overpriced and they only went up to like a size10 or 12 maybe and i have always been plus sized and I used to squeeze my big boobs in them because they had a little give because they were that spandex tissue material and i know i looked a mess LOL. The hat photo is giving very much my old roommates. These photos were cute! Brings back memories!
Aww I think your outfits and hair were pretty. 😊 like someone else said in comments, the way you dressed is so much better than how I see people dressing out in public now a days. You looked nice and very well put together in those pictures. Even at target I see people in pajamas…
I still have mine!! My prescription has barely changed since high school so I haven't felt the need to get new frames, especially since I mostly wear my contacts and only occasionally wear my glasses
I was thinking about the way giant cubic zirconia earrings had me in a chokehold, and then you said picnik and an entire flood of memories unlocked lol
Oh gosh no year makes me cringe more for my fashion choices than 2009 😂 I was balls deep in my emo/scene phase and I’m pretty sure I had light blue hair with rainbow streaks for most of the year and wore almost nothing but bring me the horizon and never shout never tshirts and blood clotting black skinny jeans with converse 😂 I look at my hair from back then with my deep fringe and almost mullet looking with cheap extensions and I have no idea how that used to look good to me
I think I had that exact white Abercrombie jacket. It was expensive so I waited until it went on sale. Since I worked there I couldn’t use my discount on the sale items but I could use my discount to buy gift cards so I gave my friend the gift card and had her walk into the store to buy the jacket for me😂
Forever 21 was part of the people that tried to look good thru the recession. I can't wait to look back at pictures of now in 10 years to see what I bought from shein.
I was pregnant and a new mom in 2009 so wasn't wearing most of these, but those NARROW GLASSES! I look at pictures of myself and can't understand what I was thinking! Edit: i just looked closer at my profile pic and im wearing them there. Maybe time to update 😂
I still like the leggings with the thin fabric to wear under skirts when it’s cold. I don’t like tights, so the leggings are a blessing. I’d be so sad if my choices went back to tights, freezing, or pants.
“Who told me to me to part my hair there” ✨😂 ✋This is me in the current year 2024. No one can tell me otherwise. My bangs are stuck in 2009. 😂😂😂
same but hey i’m bringing back my bangs this summer 😂
When you reach a certain age, a woman's hair starts to thin and the combover side part becomes a necessity, not a choice.

I mean they probably did slay at the time, just because fashion is different now than then, doesn't mean it wasn't the height of style then
As the side part was in style my hair decided to go very gray in a spot that is hidden with a side part. I can middle part it now if I want to look ten years older.

I'm gonna laugh so hard when side parts come back into style (which is inevitable) after so many gen z'ers hated them for no real reason.

You were so cute, dressed very age appropriate and stylish for the time!!! Love it!
The foldover yoga pants were comfy, but didn't work so well working out in because I'd have to keep pulling them up😂 I didn't have any bubble hem dresses, however I had MANY bubble hem going out tops
I was a chunky teenager back then and I don’t miss it 😂. I was convinced I was too fat for bubble hem dresses and I definitely was
I'm just so jealous you got to work in a Delia's, I LOVED the catalog.
Honey, you dressed much better than how people are dressing today. You'd be surprised if there are people appropriately dressed today, and we all go through fashion phases.
This one was a good one, again-- I'm seeing all my friends clothes here!! Lol.
That’s the year I graduated 😭

I wish I was in a sorority back in college...
There used to be this store my campus called Pitaya i think it burned down actually and it was all over priced bubblehem LOL. Yup, looks like all my sorority sisters from college too!! 😂
Not a fan of criticizing ourselves in the past but do you, Sis.
I still kinda dress like this
PICNIK RIP 😭
Bahahaha Yupp. I did all of these 😂😂
Idk, tho, not hating side parts! They add mystery to the face!
Maybe its the millennial in me but, you were killing it girl. 😅 Side part 4 life.
She is a vampire she does not age
Well… your dog was precious 😅
I think you look cute 🤷♀️
Lol
Hi
☠️☠️
I miss old style yoga pants that were made of cotton and had the waistband
Me too those are the best
Same
Yes I love the yoga pants and the shorts! I still have a pair of pink vs one and a old old Abercrombie and fitch 😂😂
@@destinycritcher3527 Hold on to dear life! They're vintage ;D
@@thebonniewong I love them but don’t wear them a lot, don’t wanna mess them up 😂 can’t believe they’re vintage 😭😭
Aww I think your outfits and hair were pretty. 😊 like someone else said in comments, the way you dressed is so much better than how I see people dressing out in public now a days. You looked nice and very well put together in those pictures. Even at target I see people in pajamas…
The small, rectangular eyeglasses are so cute and I will never change my mind 💯😂
Noooo😭❤
I still have mine!! My prescription has barely changed since high school so I haven't felt the need to get new frames, especially since I mostly wear my contacts and only occasionally wear my glasses
Thank you for preserving genuine culture.
STOPPP you worked at delia’s? Or should I say dElia*s?!! In northern Cali we only had the catalogue. We were deprived 😣
I was thinking about the way giant cubic zirconia earrings had me in a chokehold, and then you said picnik and an entire flood of memories unlocked lol
It was a time.😂Love videos like this!
omg not the librarian chic!! also Jenna how was Delia’s in the late 2000s… were they still doing catalogs
Oh gosh no year makes me cringe more for my fashion choices than 2009 😂 I was balls deep in my emo/scene phase and I’m pretty sure I had light blue hair with rainbow streaks for most of the year and wore almost nothing but bring me the horizon and never shout never tshirts and blood clotting black skinny jeans with converse 😂 I look at my hair from back then with my deep fringe and almost mullet looking with cheap extensions and I have no idea how that used to look good to me
Definitely SLAYED! 👏👏👏👏

2009 I was a freshman in college so yeah....I wore every single one of these outfits and thought I liked great🤣
I like to watch your videos to see what was going on while I was four years old and probably eating bugs
Not the blue colour blocked forever 21 mini 😂
Forever 21 was part of the people that tried to look good thru the recession. I can't wait to look back at pictures of now in 10 years to see what I bought from shein.
I’d just write it off to being young and not having a lot of money. I’m curious what people with money (not celebrities) looked like.
Picnik 😭
picnic filter omg im triggered remembering my sepia edits
I still do the comb over side part. It helped cover up my unfortunate last hair cut.
I MISS PIKNIK!
DELIAS MAGAZINES WERE EVERYTHING
Y2K outfits would look good modernized not what ppl think Y2K is I’m talking things people actually wore back then
I was pregnant and a new mom in 2009 so wasn't wearing most of these, but those NARROW GLASSES! I look at pictures of myself and can't understand what I was thinking!
Edit: i just looked closer at my profile pic and im wearing them there. Maybe time to update 😂
Yeah, 2009 was a tragic time in fashion 😂. I like your hair really blonde though. ❤❤
This pictures all look like the pictures my mom used to take
Lauren conrad subconsciously told us to part our hair like that 😂😊
Do you know this is on Google news for having people in stitches you're so funny!! I'm happy it's over that fashion was you had to be there😊
Why are you insulting yourself?
I still like the leggings with the thin fabric to wear under skirts when it’s cold. I don’t like tights, so the leggings are a blessing. I’d be so sad if my choices went back to tights, freezing, or pants.
Cuz all of us have never did anything cringy either… or not
sometimes i see your videos (suggested by algorithm) and im like is this what straight culture is /neutral
I'm sure I also owned a couple of those outfits 😂
Puppy looks awesome!!!!
You slayed 🤷🏽♀️
ban leggings in public
