I played the violin for almost 2 years when I was young which is now around 13 years ago already. My violin teacher never taught me more than 2 finger placements so I quitted and could not play any songs on my own. Seeing the whole violin strings per note on the side of the video really helps
I played violin for a few years in a more country style and just started learning it again and focusing more on classical music. One of the things that's helped me the most is just slowing down and focusing specifically on bowing! I recommend trying this at first with no fingerings to really focus on bowing and transitioning cleanly between strings, then adding in fingerings to make it a little more challenging! Good luck!
