Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
But did Errol Flynn ever win an Oscar when he was an Hollywood star? No,but his buddy and closed friend David Niven did for "Separate Tables".
Yi Seng Yes but Errol Flynn's Adventures of Robin Hood and The SeaHawk brought and brings more joy to children than David Niven ever did ( and I don't mind David Niven )
Beautifully done. Especially the period make-up.
According to Niven, I believe, when he and Rolly shared the beachhouse they ha a sign out front which declared in bold letters "Cirrhosis by the Sea"!
Flynn cheated on DaMita constantly that is why she was like that with him.
Typical distortion of history, Errol describes meeting Lili on board ship…Errol my hero.
The best film on Flynn is the last of robin hood. With Kevin Kline.
agee. in wich they show how he really was like.
I didn't know that Errol Flynn worked for Barney Miller
Hahaha
Barbara Hershey is excellant
Hal Linden ❤️
Duncan está impecável no papel de Flynn...tão belo, elegante e charmoso quanto o original....❤ meu tão querido Zorro..
Oh I think he died in BC. I saw some morbid video about him a while back he was a really heavy drinker.
People this is not a documentary Richard
This film is a story based upon the life of Errol Flynn and his dealings with the studio that's all it is don't take it as History Richard
love barbara hershey
@ 01:12 There is nothing to smirk at or laugh about "the enormous sum of 125 dollars a week" received back in 1935 by E. F. I'm saying this because some website values those 125 dollars in 1935 at the equivalent of 2,397 dollars today. Ergo, $125 WAS AN ENORMOUS SUM 85 years ago. You must be a lawyer, a medical doctor, a judge, a contractor, or a corrupt politician to make a net salary worth almost 2,400 dollars a week these days in America.
Nowadays you're paying for the book's title and not the contents ; just look at the Bond movies .So don't feel bad if you're being served an adaptation ; convenient for the studio ,writers, director and actors .Truth be damned and that's Olivia ??
Flynn met Damita on board ship sailing over to the US for his screen test, Gerrit Koets was really Herman Erben an Austrian doctor who spoke with a marked accent, just two of the many errors in an on otherwise pretty good film,
Tommy Hall Correct.
Duncan is gorgeous! Lee Purcell was all wrong for Olivia de Havilland. She can't act.
Errol first wife was beautiful the actress who played her wasn't as much Olivia de Havilland character was not beautiful enough or had the charm she possess. Errol Flynn character looked dashing as ever
Lee is a beautiful woman but doesn't look anything like Olivia.
I was in that movie 😂 😂✔️💀 💀
I think "Jack Warner," was played by the actor that played Barney Miller.
K A S T R O E L L N I K ! ! !
I believe there was another Bio movie about Flynn made in the 80's or so. I believe it was a higher quality than this Made for TV movie. Does anyone know about it?
Gary Biggs Kevin Kline starred in one called (I think) "The Last of Robin Hood", or something close to that title.
@@Chief2Moon thanks!
What year was this ?
I bought the book a long time ago I haven't read it the print is really small.
Where was Niven ?
Objective Burma was one of his better films
He said himself it was the only one he was proud of
Altho fictional there were american units in Burma
Ernest gordon mentions on his book
The war to end all wars an american airborne paratrooper entered their pow camp having lost his way!
Dunno why they changed the doctor's name. And several others.
Duncan Regehr - Wrong Choice !
I thought he did a good job, Neville. There were even at times he looked just like Flynn. Maybe you should watch the movie again.
The good days before movies were filled with cursing an ugly words
🎬 🎭🎞 🎥
People actually had intelligence and didn't need to rely on cussing
The book was great but this film not so great! I guess they ran out of money.
Great reading material.
Great writer he was
why is Errol Flynn green complected in this movie
Hokey but fun.
And cheesy ….
