This was example of how styles can really impact on the outcome of a match. Ryu undoubtedly an incredible player with super footwork beaten by a wily old fox, playing some wonderful unorthodox, punchy, awkward shots stifling the power of Ryu. Super game. Masters of the game.
★★★★★ For a looper, playing against HZW is like hitting against a wall. HZW makes good use of his tall frame and stays close to the table to cover every inch of the table. He returns the ball so fast and solid that it is extremely difficult for a looper to react and unleash his deadly loop. In short, he wins by controlling the opponent. He’s definitely the greatest fast-attacker without the benefit of using the modern RPB. BTW, HZW is old enough to be RSM’s father and yet beats him! RESPECT!
He's style is fast attack with short pips, which has been disappeared in today's competition. this may contribute to his victory and also demonstrate a fact that short pips is not disadvantaged in the game .
first of all the crowd is against HZW because they are playing in SVS homearena so of course the crowd will be against him. Second of all why HZW won was because he played smart, almost only deep down in ryu's backhand, It's like Schlager said in the time-out, Ryu was not active and didn't step around in the backhand. A fine example is 29:33 you camn clerly see that ryu don't know how to play, 30:50 a time-out later, there's the Ryu we all know
Probably because his style is SO frustrating to play against. He's very effective setting himself up with his wide-cutting service, then takes away his opponents offense. I think Timo played him really smart: slow and consistent loops, didn't give him any momentum to feed off of. Then there's the top Chinese players, and no one can stop them! lol
He Zhi Wen! Fantastic veteran player. Hats off :)

ty0ung0s hey you forgot to bold your words
HZW isn't the taller one.
21.15 - what an incredible foot work by Ryu SM. True "cloud walker" 🫣😱
He Zhi Wen is my idol.
It was nice to listen in on the coach's advice (Schlager).
But Schlager himself lost to HZW, how could he coach Ryu?
32:55 wtf this serve?? Is so good...
He Zhi Wen,the whole crowd was against you but you still made it

old is gold 👍🏻
He Zhi Wen retained his youthfulness for a long time, even past the age of 50.
9:05 que terceira bola incrível
Seriously biased crowd...
I would like to see an match between He zhi wen and Fan zhendong , I know fnz will win but I m sure will not be very easy for him
I enjoyed how werner schlager was coaching ryu seung min. . .
why the whole crowd was against hzw?
what do you mean by tall frame? he is just 5 ft 8.
Juanes song in the warmup hahah
hzw unique left handed penhold master.
480p melhor que muitos 1080p
omg thanks to schlagi, now i know how to play a hitter/blocker like hzw!
Ryu Seung Min behaved so unprofessional, inactive on court and unfriendly to schlager who is coaching him~
Old man won!!!
wow didn't know this happened lol
7:05 Абдулов жив!
JO waldner showed HZW whos boss, all day Control vs Extreme Control
But hzw still plays while the swede is retired
