    "you were disappointed I couldn't be you"
    "No, I was disappointed that you tried"
    since you didn't seem to get that, he meant "disappointed that you tried to be me" continuing the thought his son just said. Essentially, telling him "don't be me, go do something else"

    Biss, highly recommend checking out "Memento", the 1st (or second, not 100% sure) movie by the same director. Completely different story, more low budget, but due to the way he tells it, as much mind-boggling as Inception. That was the movie that made him a name in Hollywood.

    Just adding: If you're confused whether Cobb came back to reality or not, he did. There are multiple clues like his missing wedding ring which was only present in his dreams. But the most important visible clue is that the top starts to wobble before the film cuts to black. And according to the law of physics, every spinning object wobbles before it stops.

    • @nicholasmilne2908
      @nicholasmilne2908 Год назад

      How you can tell Cobb has returned from Limbo (where he's been stuck the entire time) is that his children turn around and he sees their faces, which he was unable to do when dreaming in Limbo. The spinning top is a bit of misdirection or a macguffin. The 'inception' is really to plant the idea into Cobb's head that he has to take a job that requires him to rescue Saito and thereby himself from the Limbo dream state and return to reality.

    • @PrinceMandal
      @PrinceMandal Год назад

      @@nicholasmilne2908 Two things I noticed.
      One - His wedding ring is missing (in reality he doesn't wear any) which was always visible in his dreams.
      Two - The spinning top never wobbles in his dream. And according to physics, a spinning object only wobbles when it's about to stop but Nolan cuts to black right before that.

The second is Joseph Gordon Levitt, who I know from the great sitcom 3rd Rock From The Sun; he's been in so many good roles... Looper, Sin City, The Dark Knight & The Dark Knight Rises, Don Jon, Brick. The third is Elliot Page who was in Umbrella Academy, Hard Candy, Juno. Cillian Murphy is the guy from Peaky Blinders... a very good show; he's also in The Dark Knight Rises, Batman Begins, Dunkirk, Sunshine, and Intermission. The whole cast was superb, it had mind blowing special effects for the time.

    The bit at the end where you see Cobb and Mal as an old couple in limbo...so emotional...i cried.
    The rotating hallway fight with Joseph gordon levitt sprawling around...breathtaking
    And my favorite lines in the film are

    Simply put Bisscute, YOu have continue the journey inside the mind of Christopher Nolan. ------ His movies are second to none and he has become one of the best film auteur of our generation. ------- He's surpassed James Cameron, and Frances Ford Coppala. His genius is simply on a next level. ------- The deep scientific concepts and details he is not only able to deliver but also convey to us in a language that we can understand is truly unprecedented. ----- Add to that the emotion weight, psychological distress that he places our protagonist under makes us also feel their pain at the deepest level. I can't say enough about the Genius of Christopher Nolan. You must watch his entire catalogue.

    Hey BissCute, since you are so intregued by the making of "Inception" as many of us were. One tid bit from the movie to understand, Chirs Nolan doesn't like to use VFX unless absolutley necessary. ------- He relies on practical effects. So the scene when the van is tumbling over and it translates to the dream. ------- Nolan made a full-size replica of the hotel rooms and hallways and place then on hydrulic gimbals in order to pivot them anyway he needed as the actor fought during the shoot. Truly amazing and next level set design for sure. ------ Thank you Mr. Nolan.

    Actually, Cobb wasn't the one who wanted to go into reality, Mal was. That's why he never remembers faces of his childern. They had them in dream. But Mal wanted to but didn't want it to sound like her idea. So, she planted an idea in Cobb's head and acted as if she wanted to stay. So, he planted it back on her mind. After track, they returned to dream level 1. Mal by suiciding, made the right choice to get back to reality but Cobb was convinced that level was reality so he stayed. As he built the whole limbo world he faked police and everything. Only way to get him back was to convince him that he is cleared of charges and can return home, that's why Mal in reality sent Seto in his dream. That's why in the last scene totem is still spinning. He has one more layer to die out of, to get back to reality.

      @@playerone7663 The ending is perfect in that the begins to wobble and then scene ends. Did it finally stop or did it go on. We don't know.

    Hi Biss! great reaction , I see you like to watch these thought provoking movies , there are lots obviously but I was going to recommend a couple, "Signs" , "6th sense" "Minority Report" "Count of Monte Christo" all of these have a sort of twisty type of story line that keeps you guessing, you are a smart cookie so maybe these will be easy for you to figure out , none the less still they are all fine movies a mix of drama, action fear/horror, fantasy, I would also like to add "The Girl in the Water". Im getting a pretty good idea of what type of movies you get the most enjoyment from and I think these would be right up your alley . You are Lovey Ciao for now

    If you wanna see more of Tom Hardy, of course he's done many movies, but may I suggest "This Means War", with him and Chris Pine?! Good and funny movie! I think you'd enjoy it! 😊

    Quality reaction!!! The part of this movie that gives me pause, is how most of the great story lines which has been put on film in Hollywood, some if not all have had a good degree of truth added into the plot. There are sci-fi movies today which may look fiction, but are actually a real thing and Hollywood is just doing what it has been told to do, "to get people on board with the idea of (pick your reality)" so that if and when the day comes where truth is revealed, people will be able to handle it better. So now lets look at this movie through these lenses; do you think it is possible for people's dreams and or thoughts to be manipulated for a cause? There are truths out there too scary for people to know.

    The crazy thing is noone knows if the story is real or just Cobb's imagination. We accept that nothing's explained and scenes countries change because it's a movie but it's just like in a dream.
    I also had plenty of dreams where I'm hunted by unkonown forces and had to gunfight them, I also dreamed I was married with kids.

    I don't like knowing too much before I see a movie either - even though I'm not filming reactions - because I think it lessens my enjoyment.
