according to 283 votes on my community post (huge turnout, thanks guys!), 51% voted for this to be the next Kirby 64 restoration. it was fun, but I don't think I'll be doing another poll like that because if everyone always votes for the popular ones, then that leaves all the unpopular ones for last! we can't have that now, can we?
I was really hoping that the restored acoustic bass would have other samples, but it looks like it's just this one. at least pretty much all of the other instruments have plenty of new samples to feast your ears on! the only two instruments in this entire song that aren't restored are both synths, the waspy one and the saw-wave one, which are most likely because Jun Ishikawa made them himself
speaking of him, how does he consistently make stuff that's so wild, yet it always works? when my friends tell me I should do original work, I tell them I just can't because stuff like this is the standard I would hold myself to. and that's like... impossible
going back to the bass for a second, I think it's cool how it's the only instrument in the entire mix to not have any reverb on it. for all of this restoration's life until just yesterday, it was included (and the reverb was a lot heavier). thankfully I did my usual final comparison and found that not only was the reverb lighter than I remembered, but the bass really punched through without having to worry about sounding muddy. glad I caught it!

oh lmao I didn’t realize people were thinking it would be the map theme, I’ll get that up next week (> ◡ •)

as one of the respondents who voted for ripple star, i was hoping this was the one the poll was referring to! it's one of my favorites in the kirby 64 soundtrack.
good work! 😀
WE’VE BEEN HAD LMAO
Regardless a great song to get restarted with. Thanks for the restoration :)

Not sure if you’re still taking suggestions atm, but can you make a cover of Sunset of Puyo Puyo (specifically the version made for Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine) with kld3’s soundfont? Great job on restoring this track btw 🙏
darn I thought this was the ripple star map theme
Fantastic restoration btw!
Could you look into restoring Perilous Pipes from Pac-Man World 1 at some point or even Crazy Cannonade or Corsair's Cove or maybe even Clowning Around?
Not Far Out/Gime Space?? You mad man!
unfortunately looking at the vgm sources sheet, seems like people haven’t made much progress finding stuff from that game
@@heresacaterpillarifoundinm8679 Nevets5/Nevets has already done that
@@whatsf2 The game uses Roland JV1080 afaik and the Accordion sample possibly comes from Global Instruments Vol 1.
@@heresacaterpillarifoundinm8679 Nevets has done both of the tracks, look him up.
Amazing work!
you're so real for doing this, man
thank you for doing these
Wow I haven't heard this song in a minute
