Andrew K absolutely agree with you. Snappy days are numbered if they don’t step up their game. Companies like Autologic have the help hotline that is amazing and have factory trained techs on the other end watching your scan tool and diagnosing the vehicles together.
Lol, no FUEL TRIMS, I would have been cussing up a storm at that point! I'm done with Snap-On I owe 2k on my Verus and no more! They can go fly a kite for 16k! I had a long rant with Paul Danner about this a few weeks back...ever since I updated to 18.4 on my Verus before watching Mike's rant on it, I've been so pissed off and disappointed! Hopefully you get it figured out Cody, don't feel so bad, it's a frickin joke that they can't get their crap together for how much we spend with them! Great rant, well deserved. OTC is my next buy. TBH I miss my Modis Edge only 2 channel, but fast and simple!

Quit trying to screw over the people making you money! I am fed up with um...every damn day it's something!
PAULY'S AUTO I use the snappy scope every once in a while but hate no zoom in only zoom out. It’s so far behind other scopes out there. Even the autel scope is better! That’s not cool lol. Yes you need a pico!! You would love it..
I have the 18.2 on my Verus Pro and needed new coverage for newer vehicles from 17 but I have my launch that goes to 19 which I plan to upgrade eventually. Is it safe to say that I'm good with this version on my Verus?
When Snap On told me how much that thing cost, I almost had a heart attack. I had an Ethos Tech which was stolen last year. It came with that same 3 year deal when I bought it which is what made it worthwhile. My Snap On guy is a good dude and he recently made me a heck of a deal on a Solus Edge. I like that platform and don't need the built in scope because I have 4 channel ATS unit. Totally agree with you about the "Intelligent" diagnostics. Nobody needs to spend 16000 dollars for a scanner with training wheels.
I gave up on snap on scan tools after I paid $1,000 to update my Verus and I still couldn’t do a simple parameter reset on a Ford. I bought the Autel Maxisys and never looked back.
I have a Zeus but I help out his shops when they have scan tool issues and work with Snap-on Diagnostics in CA so I get special deals. Just like you said though the Intelligent Diagnostics to an experienced diagnostician is worthless and has a lot of issues and you only touched on a few. Watch the TSBs also b/c it has missing TSBs also that'll burn you. The Verus Edge does everything the Zeus does but without Intelligent Diagnostics and over $6K less. We all have multiple scan tools b/c they all have different capabilities and it's pretty sad when some of the cheaper scan tools blow a Snap-on out of the water. Having a scope attached is nice though which is some of the increased cost and their scope is pretty good but then again my Pico blows it out of the water. Nice video Cody & just subscribed.
Hayward's Automotive absolutely agree with you and thanks for the heads up with the tsb’s. The scope being apart of it is nice and means I don’t need to drag out the pico. I do love the snappy and it’s the first tool I grab due to the health report and print up for customer. It definitely is frustrating to see other tools that are way less and do more then this one. Like you did not one tool does everything and if it did then this industry would be at another level and probably put all of us professionals out of business lol
Michael StJohn then that’s a heck of a deal man and definitely worth it for that price. No way would I have spent the 16k but for the price I got it, I’m happy.
I’ve got friends that think if you don’t have a $10k Snap-on box and all their tools your not a good mechanic. I learn from all you youngsters even as an old fart. Not being in debt up to your ass is the first smart move we can make for ourselves. Rock On 👍
Great to hear honest feedback. SnapOn needs and wants this feedback even if it stings to hear it publicly. They'll likely take note and improve the Zeus. Time will tell if those improvements will be sufficient. The thing that's really disappointing is, the shortfalls you identified should have been identified as requirements for the Zeus when it was on the drawing board and later wrung out during test and development. SnapOn surely works with experts in the field to find out what's necessary to diagnose vehicles, quickly, precisely, accurately and effectively. Beyond that point, there's a serious disconnect if field expert feedback isn't incorporated into the product. On a very basic level, repair shops and their customers want repairs to happen quickly, accurately and at the lowest cost possible. A win win for everyone involved, including SnapOn.
Thanks for having the cojones to speak the truth out loud on the public place. I've been a dealer tech for the past 18 years and just had enough. I want to slowly (well not too slow) slide into mobile diagnostics and still trying to figure out which all around tool to buy as my starter tool. Now I know which one not to get.
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 Well quite frankly, it wasn't in the plans at first, but the more I watch you guy's videos, the more I see that, first, it looks like challenging fun, and second, it seems this is where the future lies. I'm 42, so I still got a few good years ahead of me and I don't want to miss the boat a second time. Let's just say that right now, I'm learning to swim as I swim behind the boat that I missed those 18 years ago. I might also look into taking some electronics courses and start looking at repairing modules at the component level. After seeing you and Keith's videos on the subject, I found it fascinating. Thanks for the suggestion about the Autel tool. I'll take a good look into that. A model in particular you would recommend? You and all the others like you on you tube are an inspiration for me and I thank you very much for the time you give to others. Keep it up.
Thanks man.I'm feel lucky...Last month, the drive C in my Verus Pro was down & Snap On guy asked me to trade with Zeus & pay 7 thousand leftovers. That's too much for me, so I decided to repair it
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 Thank you for for telling it like it is,I do the same when some body asks me about my stuff, Got a new subscriber, honesty is not the norm at all anymore.
I get what you are saying. I agree with you. My question is; had you followed the pids suggested by the Zeus, would it have lead you down the right road? No challenging you. Just looking for context.
Mike Mardis now worries man, this is me following the pids that the intelligent diagnostic pops up to use to diagnose this issue. If you notice the tps is in red meaning that it is out of spec for Snap-on and it wasn’t. Not to mention no fuel trim data pids on the intelligent side of software. Yes you can diagnose a mad af sensor without fuel trim but honestly your missing a lot of information by doing so. Does this answer your question bud.
Cody’s Auto Diagnostics yes it does. I’ve used a verus a ton. Kias kds and autel. Own a modi’s edge and launch diagun. I haven’t been able to get my hands on Zeus and was wondering if despite not populating what a knowledgeable tech would want for pids, is it at a level where you can diag timely without being led down a rabbit while. Curious how far they’ve come. Thanks for the vid.
I have one. Not worth it at all. I would have given it back but my dealer quit a few weeks later. I bought my modis back a couple days after trading it in just to have a faster scan tool. I have only had intelligent diagnostics help once and it pulled up a tsb that I would have found while researching the code in our repair software.
ThePracticalMechanic haha that sounds like my situation as well. My dealer since quit or I would have given it back. Not to mention this is my third Zeus since I bought it because one the scope channel froze and the next one the tool wouldn’t update 🤦♂️
Who needs fuel trim on a MAF code? Pffft. And after you replace the MAF and it does not fix anything , do they send you a rebate coupon for the next update?
Kelly R exactly. It’s hard not to want this software and it’s a great idea, just not worth the extra cost imo. Maybe one day it will be. Just trying to give real world evaluation of the downfalls.
WOW CODY THANKS FOR OPENING MY EYES I WAS ABOUT TO JUMP IN TO THAT CRAP, MY FRIEND JUST BUY ONE AND HE PAYS $19800 ON THE RECEIPT i TOLD HE BUY A GREAT TOOL BUT HR CAN NOT EVEN PROGRAM A TPMS SENSOR WICH WE PROGRAM WITH AN AUTEL OF $1200.00
Fully agreed. I just went through a 2 hour update on my zeus. Had to clean the windows system first because there wasn't enough memory to install the shopstream update, then I needed to do the windows update. Garbage tool very disappointing.
I really like my Autologic scan tool for euros. What vehicles are you see in the most of? Snap On is pretty weak on the euro stuff in my opinion. That’s when I’ll grab my Iscan3 or Autologic
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 I want to combine my Vantage Ultra and Solus Ultra into the Zeus, I'm not getting the intelligence service feature. I want it for the scope. I mainly do BMW's but handle some Porsche Cayenne's 911's, Mercedes and Audi. Not much VW's. I'm a one man operation and with 40 years experience. I figure the Zeus will be good for me to finish out the game. Some good reviews on the unit, but does seem pretty expensive for the extra service.
If you already know what your looking for, you can access all live data. With the benefit of having windows and finding known goods. But that’s if you already know what your looking for..
Bought it today after seeing your video. Not buying because I assumed it was good just cause Verus isn’t available anymore.thought of autel but seen my buddies autel literally just die and there ain’t no place to fix.
I just picked up the modis. Covers my needs, without ask the extra I don't. Probably could've done with the solace, but I wanted the component tester oscilloscope. Just in case. 3500 new
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 agreed. I just took a new job. Where I'm the first and solo mechanic for a wholesale lot. Leaving flat rate, and the dealership gig behind. Guy was telling me he needs help to stop buying cars he gets upside down on. And a good scan tool made the top of the list. Super excited. It's so new, I'll be building my workspace over the next 4 days. Right now it's just two bays, one has a lift. A little office and bathroom. All barren and empty.
I purchased the Zeus 2 years ago because my Verus could no longer be updated. The Verus is a far superior machine. In the past 2 years my Zeus has been sent back to snap-on 4 times to be reformatted at $300 each time. The Zeus is absolute junk.
But they sell such a nice cart for it with a big screen monitor, docking station and the keyboard and mouse down inside a well where you can’t get to them, and places to store all those connectors you’ll never use... All for just a few thousand dollars more. Right? What’s not to love?
Yes, the price went down at least 18 months ago.. that's when I traded in my Verus D10 for a late Gen I Zeus - almost immediately before the Zeus Plus was released. I'm regretting that decision, shoulda hung onto my Verus. Now hoping to sell the Zeus for the $7300 I owe on it.
16k!!?!?!? I was quoted $12,500 glad I’ve stuck with my verus edge. I often times think of getting rid of the verus and buying a pico scope and I have the autel im608 or possibly buy an ultra now.
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 That makes sense still not worth $12,500 I paid roughly $4k for my verus edge. Some guy bought it and traded it back in 2 weeks later so I got a smoking deal on it. I really like the ultra can Network testing through the dlc connector I think that could be a handy feature for allot of these newer vehicles on can networks.
Jason Chavez I use the snappy the most due to the pre and post scans and how they print up compared to the autel. Favorite for German is Autologic, gm is tech2 or gds, Ford is ids, and Chrysler I use whatever will work lol. It all depends on the make and model I guess. Doesn’t really answer your question but I do like snappy grafts and easy to test drive with compared to labtop. I absolutely hate autel expect for and functions that other scan tools won’t do. My autel is slow as F lol.
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 Bro I feel the same way about the autel. The lady boss got the Maxisys for the shop and this freaking thing is slow. What's the point of auto id for the vehicle if its gonna ask me 8 freaking questions especially on European cars. But it does have alot of bi directional compared to the snap on. When it's in it's a good tool but it's just slow. But Joe said to me that I have to know its limitations and he's right 😡. I gotta step my game up and get my scan tools up there like u guys. Thanx Cody ur an awesome guy. Take care my friend
Jason Chavez bro I have the autel and hate it!!! Slow slow slow and your absolutely right about all the damn questions with Auto Id. Mine has the tpms built in with the trigger and that’s what I use it for most or when snappy doesn’t have certain features. We are in a field that not one tool is going to do everything we need. I just want guys to understand that this price tag isn’t worth it. At least autel is cheaper but it has its limitations as well. This field sucks in that aspect.
Thanks for the video i was about to buy from the truck but I th think I keep what I got I don't know too much about scanners but I don't like to rubbed thanks again
All you mentioned here plus the Zeus is just a Verus Edge with new screen!! Scan module is from the 2000 so junk and old windows obsolete! That is what they sell! I stop paying snap on updates when Zeus came out! I can buy a Autel Elite every two years with that money!
Scan tool only tells you what codes the vehicle has a good diagnostician will be able to get a scope out or other means and methods and diagnose what the problem is. I’m sure they fixed it by now. I should check mine when I have it out again. They definitely need more bus memory, larger SD drive and better processor than a cheap laptop processor. I5 or I7 processor loaded with memory, large sad drive and it would be screaming along. I was disappointed and even more disappointed when I went to hook the monitor up months later and found the hardware for mounting the bracket wasn’t even included in the box as they’d used it as a demo model which was why I got it on a scratch and dent sale on the box. I can guarantee that snap on corporate probably didn’t even know that box had been damaged because the district guy probably never told them to begin with. Sucks when you have to go to the store and get the hardware to mount the bracket up to put the monitor on because they didn’t include it with the box. A demo box should never be allowed to be sold to a customer unless it specifically says in the paperwork that it was a demo box which I can guarantee it. I wasn’t in the know at the time that I bought the box and scan tool combo but I sure am now.
So that's a 6 thousand dollars intelligent (Handicapped) app we don't need and in fact cuts out a lot of important pids we used to propper diagnose the system? That's why Autel is taking over this market...
100% agree with you, got mine the same way, sounded good. My first upset was a gmc truck with a P0300 random misfire, intelligent diag didn’t even bring up the cylinders to monitor the cylinders misfires had to manually go into misfires to monitor, was not a “time saver” at all! They really need to step it up to justify the $$$
Raul Twins hey buddy so since the price has dropped on these units I will say it’s a better “deal”. This is in my hand all day long and use this tool before grabbing another tool. Not one tool is perfect and this has some gaps on resets and relearns but all in all it’s a good tool. The scope is a nice to have attached as well. I would buy it again but not at 16k lol.
Do you think getting the Zeus for $7500 with 3 years after my Verus edge trade in is worth it? Plus I’ll get 19.2 free for my other scanner. What are your thoughts? I’m keeping in mind I would get 6 updates which are a rip off but would equal cost of the scanner
Cody’s Auto Diagnostics think it’s worth it? Would you do it again if you had to? I know by your video the intelligence sucks right now but 6 updates are like $7800 alone.
I feel like snap on has always had problems with sorting data pids ... getting better but I’m constantly changing the list during bidirectional controls/functional tests
Cody I like your videos very informative. I have a question, I want to replace and reprogram an ecm from the junkyard for a honda civic, can we use the zeus to replace it like we do with the Launch X431and also program the keys?
Thank you buddy I appreciate that. What year Honda are you thinking about? The Zeus is horrible at immobilizer and doing keys so I’m pretty sure won’t be able to do it with the Zeus.
I got the verus edge and a launch Matco brand 2.0. They work pretty good for me, I don’t like how you can print anything from the launch pad unless you purchase the format or use the md printer but other than that it works pretty good
I hear a lot of buyers remorse; yet no context. I’m not saying these people are wrong. Shit, I’m using a modi’s edge with a 2 channel scope. What I never hear, though, is if they followed the ZEUS flow chart with pids, would they come out with a correct/confirmed fix
Mike Mardis if you read the Snap-on intelligent diagnostic chart it will say pid was out of range, checked power and ground then replaced part. It’s like Mitchell confirmed fixes. Doesn’t tell you anything except the parts they replaced and verified power and ground for example. I should have gone into the fuel trim lean codes and shown what pids show up, no stft pids only long term. How does that make any sense. Also had a oil pressure switch code say confirmed fix was abs speed sensor. 90 percent of the time intelligent diagnostic doesn’t even have any information whatsoever. The year I’ve had it it’s helped, maybe a handful of times. It keeps getting better with every update but my buddy at Snap-on has mentioned how this software came out to soon, they can’t keep up with trying to add more information to the intelligent side.
I have a verus and really like it, no intelligent diagnostics. I like the guided component test, sometimes it helps. I mainly bought it tor quick portable scope and it was cheapp lol
Bradley Dewitt I hear ya. Don’t get me wrong snappy is the first tool I grab, it’s just not worth spending the extra money for the intelligent part of it. Guys seeing this on a tool and snappy telling you it will help in diagnostics is false and will lead guys down the wrong path. If they don’t know better or what pids to look at then this tool won’t help them whatsoever. I like the portable scope but again snappy is way behind on the scope as well in my opinion lol.
Just another way to confirm the parts cannon is loaded up as ready to fire. Snapon just want all the info and all of us are having yo pay to give them the info. 🤷
I work for Toyota and I have the Zeus one thing about tsb's I've had codes that have bulletins that apply to them but the program says no bulletins for that code and I've seen that multiple times
the scope lacks multiple time setting for each channel. it lacks setting to break down 720 degrees of rotation. the zoom feature is not as good as pico. it doesn't do well with pressure diagnostics. it boots crazy fast new but give it a few month you'll be making a coffee while you wait. lmao
Purchased a yr ago at 12k constant lock ups 3rd replacement today send away to fix i will Never own another scanner from snap on scanner module problems after every update to the point I made them turn off the updates Sucks period
Most Technicians use 30% of the Zeus capabilities, when you can activate a circuit, look at the up to 4 channel lab scope , look at the data parameters, pin out chart, wire diagrams or what ever you want to see on multiple (windows 10 ) screens . Set the Pids how ever you want to help you in your diagnosis, I myself would not look at the Zeus to reprogram or flash, that is not what the tool was designed for. But anyways i myself will never support China Peace out.
Thinking bout getting it for my personal scan tool the shop will always have a Snap-on tool up to date.. you think it’s worth it or should I go elsewhere ?
Joe Terry Yes buddy it’s definitely worth it. It’s not a scan tool that does bi directional controls but it’s amazing for drivability issues. Definitely worth it imo
I think all the tool trucks take advantage of the mechanics most don’t make enough for good credit and they can’t make a living without tools shame on them.
Michael StJohn that’s msrp on the unit. Obviously I didn’t spend that but when these came out, it was. I know they have deals now, which they needed to do because at 16k is crazy.
@@duckmonster921 Not only is it Mitchell but its a very restricted version of Mitchell which only gives you very basic information. No wiring diagrams or anything else that's remotely useful for actual diagnostic.
Just updated my solus to 20.4 and i like it. The intelligent software is a nice idea but if you have an idea of what causes what you dont need a 6k software package.
Yo I now to late to give comment but it is crapes and not even close to m908 autel does and can you say something about Dan it looks like he is selling Snapon for his student is that make sense for you
Im just buying an Autel Ultra. Have the im608 pro and the ms906 The ultra brand new has topology. But is that truthfully awesome. Dont think so. We shall have to see. Autel Ultra is $6400 thereabouts. Snapon is £16k like 10k more. They must be smokin crack cocaine.
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 i have tried it. On my ultra. Topology is bollocks. Simply for the modules it draws rectangles and then colours them green if no faults or orange if a fault or grey if that module does not exist. Mate its shit. I thought topology was better. Does not help diagnosis one bit
Rick Henry that’s not a horrible deal. I would add up what three years of updates would cost on the verus first then see if the deal sounds good to you. Also if you do get the Zeus then make sure it’s got windows 10 on it. One thing about the verus being windows 7 is one downfall. It’s not a bad tool, but not for full price. Hope this helps man

ADVANCED LEVEL AUTO exactly! It’s hard to spend that kind of money on a tool and not perform as some cheaper alternatives.
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 I got my Zeus for 9300$
Michael StJohn then that’s a heck of a deal man and definitely worth it for that price.
I haven’t had the chance to use the Zeus yet, but I haven’t heard a single person say a single good thing about it lol
Voltage Drop Diagnostics me either bro! I don’t want guys to make this mistake buying this thinking it will help them.
That's too bad. For that kind of money I want to see a private dance.
For that money, I want a happy ending. 😁

Welcome Cody, just watched a couple of your videos today, I can relate to your frame of mind and logic. Keep up the great work .
Kelly R that’s much appreciated and will definitely be getting more case studies and content out. Thank again
That’s awesome your thinking of going mobile, I would look closer at the autel scanners. Will you be doing programming also?
Keep it up.
And here I thought their 10k scan tool was the top of the line and over priced. 16k is crazy! Noooo. 👎snapon
The mech a nic right... I thought the verus was pretty expensive but this takes the cake lol
Love the video Cody 😉👍
Thanks man.I'm feel lucky...Last month, the drive C in my Verus Pro was down & Snap On guy asked me to trade with Zeus & pay 7 thousand leftovers. That's too much for me, so I decided to repair it
You did the right thing buddy! Nice working risking time to repair it.
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 Thank you for for telling it like it is,I do the same when some body asks me about my stuff, Got a new subscriber, honesty is not the norm at all anymore.

Yup need more videos like this. Total agree.
Burt Pilon thanks for watching
Thank you for being straight up! That's hard to get these days!
You’re welcome, thanks for watching
16k for a scanner, thats insanity, cant be more then 2k worth of hardware in that thing.
I hear ya
NO..... THE END
🤣
Who needs fuel trim on a MAF code? Pffft. And after you replace the MAF and it does not fix anything , do they send you a rebate coupon for the next update?
New Level Auto absolutely wont send you anything but snappy will probably charge double for the next update 😂
I picked up the Zeus pretty much the same situation you did . I never have even used the intelligent diagnostics once 😂 for all the same reasons.
This is the reason i stuck with my Verus edge and not being led into excessively expensive gamble with snap on diagnostics.
Kelly R exactly. It’s hard not to want this software and it’s a great idea, just not worth the extra cost imo. Maybe one day it will be. Just trying to give real world evaluation of the downfalls.
WOW CODY THANKS FOR OPENING MY EYES I WAS ABOUT TO JUMP IN TO THAT CRAP, MY FRIEND JUST BUY ONE AND HE PAYS $19800 ON THE RECEIPT i TOLD HE BUY A GREAT TOOL BUT HR CAN NOT EVEN PROGRAM A TPMS SENSOR WICH WE PROGRAM WITH AN AUTEL OF $1200.00
Happy I could help. Sometimes it’s not about the price of the tool but more about the functionality
Fully agreed. I just went through a 2 hour update on my zeus. Had to clean the windows system first because there wasn't enough memory to install the shopstream update, then I needed to do the windows update. Garbage tool very disappointing.
My Autologic with 9 years of lease payment, just German cars cost 50k. I'm considering Zues without the add on.

Super Mario Diagnostics 😂😂😂 seriously bro. Definitely not a tech.
3500 new
Good call getting one with the scope 👍. The guided component test for a awesome as well

Leaving flat rate, and the dealership gig behind.

Super excited. It's so new, I'll be building my workspace over the next 4 days.

@@emilyhofland8219 wow, how exciting! Congratulations on the job, sounds like it could be a great opportunity you!
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 thanks man.
Paul E that’s funny because I bought that cart 😂 your absolutely right about it and I want to get rid of it eventually.
Love the vid. Hell with zeus. Damn snap on is ridiculous anymore. Zeus is a joke. Thanks for the video
ssman dieselbuilds haha yeah I hear that about the Zeus. Thanks for watching buddy
Zues is now $10,190.00 on Snap On website. Did the price go down for the Zues since you mentioned $16,000?
Yes, the price went down at least 18 months ago.. that's when I traded in my Verus D10 for a late Gen I Zeus - almost immediately before the Zeus Plus was released. I'm regretting that decision, shoulda hung onto my Verus. Now hoping to sell the Zeus for the $7300 I owe on it.
16k!!?!?!? I was quoted $12,500 glad I’ve stuck with my verus edge. I often times think of getting rid of the verus and buying a pico scope and I have the autel im608 or possibly buy an ultra now.
The price came down a lot over the years. It was originally 16k when it first came out 🤦♂️
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 That makes sense still not worth $12,500 I paid roughly $4k for my verus edge. Some guy bought it and traded it back in 2 weeks later so I got a smoking deal on it. I really like the ultra can Network testing through the dlc connector I think that could be a handy feature for allot of these newer vehicles on can networks.
I think Keith would ignore all my phone calls if I buy a Zeus. 🤣🤣🤣. Thanx Cody. By the way which is ur favorite scan tool that u love using?
Maic Salazar Diagnostics You’re absolutely right buddy
Spot on mate it even worse in the UK yep stick to eobd data good fuel trims ,closed and open loop ( only thing good is tsbs and windows 10
scott ScottMechanics you’re absolutely right there! Tsb is nice but I’ve noticed that it’s bringing up tsb for completely unrelated codes lately. 🤦♂️
Cody’s Auto Diagnostics That’s snap on to a T. We’re on the same page 👍
Argeny Sandoval couldn’t have said it better myself. So much information missing 🤦♂️
100% agree with you, got mine the same way, sounded good. My first upset was a gmc truck with a P0300 random misfire, intelligent diag didn’t even bring up the cylinders to monitor the cylinders misfires had to manually go into misfires to monitor, was not a “time saver” at all! They really need to step it up to justify the $$$
Jay Thomas you absolutely nailed it! It’s a great idea but definitely falls short in a lot of ways. Then adding the price tag is like.....what! 😂
Cody what do you think about the zeus after owning it longer. Worth it or not as the zeus prices have dropped. ? Is this scanner worth it in 2020
Raul Twins hey buddy so since the price has dropped on these units I will say it’s a better “deal”. This is in my hand all day long and use this tool before grabbing another tool. Not one tool is perfect and this has some gaps on resets and relearns but all in all it’s a good tool. The scope is a nice to have attached as well. I would buy it again but not at 16k lol.
I appreciate your input and advise. I have much respect for your talent and input. Thanks
Thanks for the kind words buddy! That’s much appreciated
Do you think getting the Zeus for $7500 with 3 years after my Verus edge trade in is worth it? Plus I’ll get 19.2 free for my other scanner. What are your thoughts? I’m keeping in mind I would get 6 updates which are a rip off but would equal cost of the scanner
Welding Junkie yes that’s a good deal bro. Similar to the deal I got which is why I picked it up.
Cody’s Auto Diagnostics think it’s worth it? Would you do it again if you had to?
I know by your video the intelligence sucks right now but 6 updates are like $7800 alone.
Welding Junkie Yes I would do it man because that update price alone
I feel like snap on has always had problems with sorting data pids ... getting better but I’m constantly changing the list during bidirectional controls/functional tests
I feel the same way buddy. Something they can definitely improve on imo
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 It`s a 2005 Honda Civic
You would have to look up the calibration ID in the new and used pcm to see if they match. More then likely will just need a vin programmed
I got the verus edge and a launch Matco brand 2.0. They work pretty good for me, I don’t like how you can print anything from the launch pad unless you purchase the format or use the md printer but other than that it works pretty good
Nick Priest I’m still trying to figure out the printing on my launch. Definitely something I don’t like about the launch and I do like about Snap-on
That's a lot of coin for a scan tool!
Ozzstar yeah to much!
Eric Shaffer see another example of where you could get sent on the wrong path. Thanks for the info bud
But will it turn a f level technician into a c levelTechnician. Ya know “for a friend”
It works miracles but I think that option is another 4K 😂
The intelligent diagnostic is in a very early beta stage but snap on won't tell you that. It's baaically useless right now.
Thomas Wilk yeah I’ve heard that from some buddies that work for snappy. It has potential but for released to early. Thanks for the heads up
the scope lacks multiple time setting for each channel. it lacks setting to break down 720 degrees of rotation. the zoom feature is not as good as pico. it doesn't do well with pressure diagnostics. it boots crazy fast new but give it a few month you'll be making a coffee while you wait. lmao
Mine has never booted fast lol. It’s laid off and I won’t be buying anymore SnapOn scan tools or scopes again
Purchased a yr ago at 12k constant lock ups 3rd replacement today send away to fix i will Never own another scanner from snap on scanner module problems after every update to the point I made them turn off the updates Sucks period
Sorry to hear that, I’m on my second one since the first one a scope channel stopped working
Topdon phoenix max it would be better than zues + . Also topdon gives you 2 years free update and for the price is cheaper
Have you ever played around with the EScan software scan tool
Yes I have actually and it’s a great tool for fuel trims and for catalyst monitoring
Thinking bout getting it for my personal scan tool the shop will always have a Snap-on tool up to date.. you think it’s worth it or should
I go elsewhere ?
Joe Terry Yes buddy it’s definitely worth it. It’s not a scan tool that does bi directional controls but it’s amazing for drivability issues. Definitely worth it imo
Check the Transmission wiring too
$16k for a scan tool? HA. I have a Launch 431 pro I paid $1250 for. Add a scope and a backup scanner and I would still be under $4k.

Snap-On knows how gullible Snap-On junkies are. In reality Dumb! If Snap-On put a limited edition actually piece of shit with Snap-On on it certain would fight over it! Once I saw Snap-On was being sold at PEPBOYS I knew something was bad.
Demoed a Zues, wasn't impressed...demoed that new Matco thing and it sucked too, at least isn't wasn't 16k though.
Kelly Mcandrews exactly! Snap-on has some great features but not for that price tag.
WOW! that is CRAZY money....
29 auto to much money 💰
You buy snapon tools for the warranty... their warranty on all their electronic tools are trash, completely negating any reason to buy it in my opinion.
I'm confused. Husky has a lifetime warranty on all their tools, they do the same exact thing that a snap on wrench does, for the fraction of the price. Plus you can go to any Home Depot and exchange.. why anyone would buy snap on is ridiculous and just stupid.
I’m sorry but nothing comes set to Snap-on flank drive wrenches.
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 I get it, just saying I've been using Husky wrenches for years now, never had any issues with them. That's whats great about a free market, you buy what you want and ill buy what I want!
Autel mp808 or ds808k under a grand save your money 16k is stupid
No thanks !!!!!!!
Autel elite $ 2700 w/Jbox
Used Modis for scope $1000
IDS w/1y sus $2400
Witech $3400
Used tech 2 $1000
Just personal preference!!!!!
Exactly!!
you got screwed man msrp is just under 12k
Not for the complete diagnostic cart. It’s snapon, everyone gets screwed.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I just got the Apollo d8 which has this program too for two years but nah it’s not worth it.. but hey at least I didn’t pay for it my snap on dealer hooked me up for a year to try it out
robert garza right on man. Getting deals like that make it worth it then!
Cody’s Auto diagnostics yeah it sure is man.. it’s like an extra 2500 for the two years but nah I wouldn’t pay them it’s not worth it the program is trash it basically just says to replace whatever the code indicates (parts cannon) lol
All in all I got the apollo for about a 1/4 of the price of that Zeus ; )
robert garza the snappy parts cannon 😂😂
Dood !!!! Turn off your jenna lane gps. Snapon is a big company. With videos like this they will send guys in dark colored vehicles. (With tint). Try it with a launch
Charlie Magoo haha seriously!
snap on is pricing themselves out of the scan tool market.
Steve Slater I agree 💯
@@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 we just bought an Autel maxisys elite. I use my Ethos Pro when I have a hiccup or want to verify something I don't believe. I don't have not will I ever buy a top end snap on scanner.
Steve Slater I like autel and my launch. I also like the Snap-on on some features. There is just a huge price difference and if we’re do it again I wouldn’t have got the Snap-on one before using he others on the market.
I've just bought a zeus plus, absolute junk too
