I'm used to larger, corded routers ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.
Its obvious that its your first time. The bottom of the bit should be free of obstacle. The wood should be clamped securely on the work table. I hope it was unplugged when your putting the bit. Its a start. Happy wood working and good luck. Remember safety first always.
I bought this machine 3 weeks ago... Cuts perfect and is accurate, but veeery dangerous!!! This machine don't have smooth start therefore it has a very violent start - up! (watch 11 minutes into this video)... Today mine jumped out of my hand when I started him!... Fortunately I didn't get cut up! Beware!!!
Unable to change router bit that came with the product. The bit is of 6mm diameter and the collet ring does not support more than 6mm. Unable to use my 8mm bits. Any solution?
YOU MUST HAVE NOT READ the instruction book! This palm router comes with TWO collets, one (the black color one) is exactly 6mm for European milimeter sized bits, and the other (silver color) is exactly 1/4". No palm router has 8 mm collet, because you need more than 700 to 800 watts power for larger than small sized bits...
If you want a discount product with cheap ass plastic and too little power this is it. If you want professional quality and a machine to last a lifetime, buy Makita RT0700CX2J. What you see here in clear plastic and the "teeth" for height adjustment is solid aluminum on the Makita.
