Algoma KING Salmon: Lake Michigan July 2022

Made our annual trip out to Lake Michigan this week to see if we could find some King Salmon. With a lot of cold water still around, we changed our location last minute from Bailey's Harbor, down to Algoma, WI. Most of our fish came early mornings, with afternoons and evenings being a struggle. Thank you to those at the Algoma Marina who were willing to share intel, and help us dial in the bite.

It’s been one of the biggest learning curves for fishing I’ve had. Still trying to put the puzzle pieces together. If you decide to go let me know I’ll tell you what I’ve learned. Fish Hawk for speed and temp is a must.

Yes! I only get out for salmon a few days a year so am not an expert on names, but that is correct. Seem to work good for us in July!

If your ever looking to go out on a charter. Fishin Magician charters in algoma is who I would recommend Jimmy is an amazing guide. Also puts you on the fish!!
