It doesn't justify cheating, but the guy straight up said he disregarded his wife completely. He let her do and get what she wanted, but did absolutely nothing to keep the relationship. Honestly it's quite obvious why she'd seek an emotional connection outside the marriage as there was none in the marriage. Instead of talking to him, she got the validation bug and instead working hard to earn it her self. It a lot easier for her to monkey branch. the Emotional Connection part is the women domain. It the same as physicality duty with men. It would be like instead of the husband defending the wife from a threat, instead he would join the threat to attack the wife. The only thing that he did that was wrong that he didn't confront her disrespect.
