@@blacksunday4231there's a difference between being a strategist and a wimp because the strategist will be quiet and give the person multiple chances so that the person can't say that there wasn't any chances given when the bomb goes off because that's literally what happened with their marriage he gave her five chances or maybe it was 4 or 3:00 but regardless he gave her chances but he already had all his aces in place for a Checkmate and he gave her an opportunity to make the right move but she chose poorly and he set her up.

It was only "a mistake" because she realized she risked everything for not much of a payout. She didn't get her world rocked like she expected from the AP.
Remember, at the beginning of the story, she announced this was supposed to be the beginning of a regular thing.
If AP had been as impressive as she had expected, not entirely sure she'd have been all that broken up about the divorce.
Only after she realized she traded down on so many levels did she decide her deliberate choice was "a mistake".

That bit about the pepper spray is funny. My GF told me about a wife who used latex gloves and collected some poison ivy and put it in the dryer with all her cheating husband's underwear after she washed the entire drawer. These were his T-shirts as well as his socks and underwear. The heat from the dryer caused the Urushiol oil to settle all over the underwear. Because the house was his before they got married she then packed up her things and left. She did place poison Ivy all over the house.
