I had Snoop Dogg read me the entire first chapter of my immunology textbook. Listening to the man o’weed talk about white blood cells and cytokines made my day lmaooo.
Didn’t get any studying done though cuz I wasted time giggling at the actual TTS. Would use again. I’m actually considering the premium, but do you know of any other TTS reader applications where I can upload PDFs for it to read? Would appreciate suggestions thanks!

150000 words per month limitation makes almost no sense. Just counted the words in a 400+ pages book I'm currently reading: 178000 words. In many cases speechify gonna cost you more than the actual book.
What is even more criminal, is that they mention the limitations nowhere on the site except terms in conditions.
Very cool to point out this important limitation, dude.

Thanks for the review. I’m returning to school at 35. Unfortunately now with 3 concussions and ADHD. So I need to do all I can to set myself up for success before I start this new chapter. I talked to the guys in the campus bookstore yesterday because I learned the other night that you can now rent textbooks, and also there are digital textbooks. These are common options now compared to just 10-15 years ago when I was in school… feels like the Stone Age.
I used a lot of technology as a band director so I’m excited to see this coming back into academia myself.
The guys directed me to look at the publishers to see what the interface looks like on the digital textbooks bc they didn’t know. I asked about accessibility options, specifically read-aloud. I told them at the end of the day there are products out there. I mentioned snoop dog because I had seen ads.
I wish the technology was to the point that I could “upload” my copy of the textbook to Speechify and just run with it. But growing pains it seems. App Store says they update it every week.
But I told the guys at the campus bookstore if the digital versions do offer read aloud, and even though it would drastically increase my screen time (ouch that’s bad news for me), I would consider renting as many digital as possible for the sake of the read aloud. I use that so much for websites. Anything I can open in Chrome or Microsoft Edge (I like their reader the best so far), helps me comprehend AND stay focused. As mentioned in the video, setting the speed to fast is very comforting and keeps me engaged and keeps the comprehension much higher than just reading silently. Much, much higher.
So anyways, this gives me at least something to go off of. Some of the other commenters were VERY critical. I mean, not constructive criticism, just rude haha
But this is the first video I could find the covered the nuts and bolts that I needed to make the judgement.
I’m going to wait to see it they still offer a free version(?) after the free trial. That’s what it sounded like in the video. I could tolerate that. Also going to research these digital textbooks, too.
Many of the comments were helpful, too, as these users have checked it out, some had paid for it. So it’s good that your community engages in the comments. It certainly helps others.
    Thanks for another good video.

I’m so proud of you for going back to school. I am as well and new technology is helping the ADHD community have a better chance of success. The age of Aquarius is here. I wish you an abundance of success and happiness. Peace be with you.

Thank you for this review. I agree. I did the three-day trial a couple weeks ago. I had trouble with the chrome extension but it works for me on iPhone. Customer support was very fast when I wrote about the chrome issue. The premium voices are quite good, including Gwyneth. But I will probably opt for one of the choices that are less of a work in progress. Speechify has sent me 50% off deals after my three-day trial so I think people could probably get it for $70 not $140

I've also been researching about this.
It seems you need to paid for a plan with commercial license included, that way you can use speechify commercially.
Perhaps you can argue that your video was not created for commercial purposes, but due to the nature of RUclips and their ads, I don't think non-commercial video exist anymore...
My guess is that you need to pay 139usd yearly if you want to use it for creating content.

SO I did, and here I am having paid for premium service, but denied premium service, and getting reminders to join premium service.
I have got a better offer... Why don't you guys just provide what you promise, and what I paid for, and you never contact me again for a whole year?

@gradehacker hi, can I use speechify to add and voice over to my PPT presentation?

That is a great question and we certainly see how it can be valuable. Were you able to find a way to do it? We are not a part of Speechify but we recommend you ask their support team on how to do this. Let us know. We are curious to know!
