    If you are into 4x at all, you REALLY need to consider playing X4 foundations + the Star Wars Interworlds mod installed. Its unbelievable. That said ,Sins is pretty epic.

    This game is franchise is sooooo good. Once you get sucked into commanding your ships in a battle, then BAM! a butt puckering as the enemy reinforces from the flank that you weren't watching cuz the battle is so intense.... SINS is a masterpiece. And Sins2 seems to not disappoint
    As for your performance: you did excellent for going in blind. As a veteran player, your early game was slow, but that's to be expected. The resource collection scales exponentially, so it's really easy to be out gunned & under teched versus even an Easy AI. I generally use the Capship with Colonize ability as my freebie Cap and start my early expansion that way, then spec into the Carrier for Support or the Dreadnaught for holding a battle. You did pretty well. This game can suck you into battle management so easily leaving your other worlds open for pirates or other enemy attacks

    I'm not familiar with the Sins series, but this entry at least seems to have a lot of really nice quality of life features. Searching research, automatically telling you what research you're lacking when you try to do something that you haven't unlocked yet, reshuffling the research queue. All my examples seem focused on the researching experience, but I'm sure there are other features that I didn't notice 😂

    Glad to see you picking it up! I recon there will be some inspired Empyrion builds coming 😎 For a first game you did quite okay. As a Sins 1 vet I jumped in guns blazing and was humiliated quite fast, hehe. So it is better to take it slow. Also if you have a buddy to team up with then the comp-stomping can be pretty fun. Epic battles where you are at the knife's edge and allied fleet jumps in hammering the enemy are swish. As for mods I'd say some Stargate mods would be cool: Tau'ri, Ancient, Goa'uld, Wraith and Asgard ships would be nice to play with.
    Some pointers:
    PD stands for Point Defense, small gatling guns like in Expanse that try to take down missiles and small fighers/bombers. And you can use control groups, like in other RTS games. You assign them with ctrl+number and then you can easily select them later with the push of the number. I use colony ships as grp 0 for example. Main fleet is grp 1, support fleet is grp 2 (repair ships), carriers grp 3 and base busters (torpedo ships) are grp 4. That way I can more easily manage them and avoid them going full hooaah. :) You could also make a control grp for the strike crafts.
    They were capturing ships because it was the ship ability for the first Advent capital ship you were fighting. They basically influence the mind of your crew.
    I hope it was of any help, buddy!

    I have played sins 1 and it was fun. It was better when I played with other people co-op against computer. For your first time you did well and adapting on the fly when the opposing faction attacked you, if it was me I would have been unprepared. I usually like sitting back getting all research before I start building a major fleet. So nicely done with that.

    Was not aware of Sin 2. I have sunk hours (and weekends) into the first game. The dlc expanded it so much. I think I focused on production and controlling space lanes between systems(and building super weapons asap). I liked to build a capital vessel with the ability to take planets and repair vessels to follow my combat fleet.

      Oh yeah one of the factions is telepathic. I think I remember using telepathic long range broadcasts to subvert/take opposing planets. They can debuf enemy ships.

      Well... The game SUCKS. I can't believe.... They had a good foundation.... Then they fuc*ed up EVERYTHING. This is just a "remaster"... A "reskin" of the original game! A lot of things were stripped... To make it more of an hack&slash genre. Seriously, how do they make a sequel... And instead of adding more content... They REMOVE content. WTF is wrong with these people?!!?

    When you queue up upgrades, it's very convenient, but you're paying the cost up front for research that won't even start until later. Those are resources you could be using to upgrade planets, build structures, or add more ships to your fleet.
    So keep in mind, if ever you find yourself needing more money for something, consider how much research you have queued up and how many resources you've tied up on projects that won't even start to pay off until much later

  • @DoremiFasolatido1979

    Trade ports aren't about credits, per se.
    The bonuses they provide depend on the types of planets you build them at. Ice planets give more crystal. Volcanic or Ferrous planets give more metal. They all give a bit of each, but the planet type tends to determine what they give the most of.
    Additionally, Trade Ports provide export points, that you can assign in the trade port tab at the top of the screen, between Exotics and Markets tabs. The more of those points you put into a given resource, the more of that resource you'll gain. How many slots you have open for each resource depends on what planets they're built around. Again, Ice planets give you more crystal slots...Volcanic and such, more metal. All of them give a few credit slots, but Terran worlds especially give a bunch of credit slots.

    The original Sins game has no "story mode" or Campaign.
    Sins 2, however, EVENTUALLY will. In the form of a DLC.

    • @Cnupoc
      @Cnupoc 2 месяца назад

      Is that confirmed by ironclad?
      This could be a pivotal point for the game's life. I very much prefer the sandbox style without a campaign. They should also bring back the map editor for custom maps.

    • @DoremiFasolatido1979
      @DoremiFasolatido1979 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Cnupoc It's literally in their list of planned DLC when you buy the full-package for 80 bucks. I think it's the second or third one they intend to release.
      Also, the campaign will be strictly optional (as a DLC) so you're not going to have to deal with it if you don't want to. You don't even have to buy it. So...it's not going to change anything. It's a pure nothing-burger if you prefer the unstructured style.

    I haven't even thought about Sins for years. I have it on DVD, copyright 2008. Pretty basic but seems to play about the same as this. This one though, is much prettier. Starting from inside a nebula. Nice. A question though. How many different iterations of the game are there? Just wondering if I'd be lost jumping in with this, or should I go back. Ahhhh, I'll jump in. Thanks for the look, Spanj. You sold me another game.
    And as I recall, I had to guide my scouts around the pirates to keep them alive. They aren't too bright.

    I've never played the first one either. As a Homeworld 2 & X4 Foundations fan, I think I might like this! What do you think? The one thing that worries me is a steep learning curve, as I'm kinda burned out on learning new games that require a degree to play, LOL.

    • @Trip4man
      @Trip4man 2 месяца назад

      You better off playing the first one! This is a very stripped version of it.... In other words - a LAME sequel. About the learning curve hammmmmm for me it's pretty simple actually.... Get planets, upgrade them, build ships, construct facilities, research technology andddddd.... 'Rock beats scissors'! You have the best.... You win the rest. Well, Quantity will also play a role.... Then you have ship tactics and some convenient M.O.'s that you have to have... But other than that... Pretty simple and straight forward game. What's messed up.... It's when you reach a bigggggggg Empire. Then you have to watch battles on one side of the galaxy... And how other planets are being defended on the other side of the galaxy. And you can't exactly do them at the same time. Ships do have an "auto mode" for abilities... But for retreat or specific attacking, yeah, you need to manage them personally.
      People here saying it's going to have DLC... Yeah it BETTER have them!!! Because it's a JOKE at this point!!! They just remastered, reskinned and simplified the game... Although in the first game... The DLC's barely made any difference. Not sure if DLC's will make much more difference in this one. My bet??! It won't

    In SIN one, the AI is DUMB.. All you need to do when fighting a larger fleet is bull back as far as you can without jumping. Their fleet will separate into two parts, one of faster ships and slower ships..
    Kill the faster ships, by then the big ships will be in range. Only fight some at once!

Spent more on half assed games than i care to count and they tend to just sit in a corner of my Steam library til i get bored looking at them and hit the hide button(cities skylines 2...KSP2 etc etc). I tried to play Sins of the solar Empire : Rebellion but I found I got thrashed which ever way I go the enemy made friends with the pirates that kept attacking me . they either came in massive ship to wipe me out or fire some space gun from the other side of the solar system. If I went for the space gun they came in ships if I went for defence they killed me with a space gun like they knew every move cheating MF's without the space gun I think I would have liked the game but when they just turn up and wipe you out in the first move its not fun even did a co-op with a friend to help and the game wiped us both out. to OP, but looking at sins 2 and hope its different
