The kisses she gave this baby 💞 So proud of her little one and so loved. Just like a human mother.
Much better than a lot of human mothers!
Fun fact, Kissing was originally about parents spreading their immune system to their babies through saliva. So at least in great apes, it was originally for showing affection to babies and not adults. We're unclear on how the meaning behind it changed and why it spread to adult affection, but it has. Humans are the weird but successful cousin to the other great apes.

@@landofthelivingskies3318 , I found research originally published in 1992 that addresses the overall health and wellbeing of gorillas in zoos:
"KOPFF (1982) and SUCKER (1987) already noticed that gorillas do not like to stay in the open; this should be expected, because they are rain forest primates. If the enclosure furnishings are not attractive to them, they spend most time near the walls ...
Much more important for the animals than the mere floor space of a gorilla exhibit is its structure - facilities that provide shelter and an opportunity to lean against them, for example trees, walls, niches and sleeping cages. Even a glass barrier is a 'wall' and therefore used as a place for rest."

She loves her baby more than some humans!
This is so sad, I wish they could live in freedom
I wish ppl wouldn't cut the video's thing to compete with other platforms... this video had a new mama visiting the zoo... gorilla saw the baby went and got her baby.. it was very sweet
She's so loving and affectionate with her baby. Sweet.
Yes, very sweet
She's a proud mama
It's truly an amazing planet we live on. So much beautiful life all around us.
I love how this Mother Gorilla shows off her baby and kisses her baby. I love it! We can learn how much they treat their off-spring and know we can understand how they feel too.
It's amazing how you feel compassion for a mom and child locked inside a prison...
Jeez I’m crying again. Gorillas are so beautiful and intelligent. It gives me joy that they’re at least protected and loved in there❤️
They're in captivity. How does cruelty warm your heart?
Hahaha gives him joy that the whole family is in captivity 😂
animals being in enclosures/captivity doesn't automatically mean they're being mistreated. more often than not, having critically endangered animals in sanctuaries and reserves is way more beneficial because they can repopulate, be nursed back to health, be removed from direct threats and released back into the wild when they aren't considered endangered anymore.
yes, there have been several instances where this hasn't been the case and i'm sure that very unfortunately it could happen again in the future, but the important thing is that there are many more organisations and even nurseries for orphaned babies that are out there actively keeping these animals safe and healthy and well treated.
I feel so honored to be able tos see such a beautiful loving ❤ gorilla mother show us her beautiful baby.
Clearly she is so proud and happy to have this baby in her life. Melts my heart how she kisses and kisses her baby!!! 💗 tender love and care ❤ I wish them all the best!!!
Me too
She’s grooming it
They're us 200,000 years ago. They love just like us! All mammals require body contact with other mammals to remain healthy, mentally and physically! This is us. We're all one!!❤
