Why decide something is bad if it doesn't affect someone else? You can say that you don't like to live in such a room, which is entirely correct. That means that you value cleanliness as more important than the time spent cleaning. This person doesn't value cleanliness, and that's totally OK.

Actually... I have half a 16.9 oz bottle of Mt. Dew right beside my chair. It's been there for almost 3 years now. During the worst of flea season, I drown any I pluck off my dog in the bottle. The soda has never molded over.
I live in WV, though. But, I also live in a basement that had a slow (hidden) water leak for 3 years, so the humidity has always been high in the warmer months. And by high, it's gotten up into the 80's.

Yeah I knew a guy that used to have a ton of pepsi cans in his gaming room and mold would grow inside of them... was his roommate a couple of times and I'd clean the room, and in Canada everybody recycles bottles and cans, so I'd dump the leftover muck that was in the half drank cans into a bucket. There was also cups, leftout takeout food, spilled pop on the floor... it was a pig sty! I doubt his mother got a refunded deposit on the house XD

I would clean on the regular basis if it changed my life for the better, but I grew to ignore filth until it is dangerous bad for me or for my cat. I spend most of the day out, then chill at home and go to sleep, not one of these things is more fulfiling for me when my surrounding is clean so i just dont care.
This made me feel so much better about myself.

As an Ex-Pest control Service Technician of 5 years, I can absolutely 100% unequivocally say that roaches are indeed attracted to sitting food.
The insect monitors (white glue boards) aren’t enough to control that infestation, you’d have to remove any and all standing excess unsealed food, use a boric based roach bait, and insect monitor to remove them and it will take weeks if not months to be free of them.

Fun story for a tech. I’m from Michigan and here, these roaches aren’t supposed to exist. A neighbor brought them to our trailer park all the way from Florida in their luggage and it infected every house in a 200ft+ radius. Knowing this, I can barely imagine what the actual house looks like, given that every neighbor has to pay for Orkin several times per year now.
Funnest fact, the home that gave everyone roaches was my childhood home(bought by the current resident, I WISH I was well off enough to bring roaches home from Florida), which is a pretty big slap in the face :( they ruined it and it’s so nasty and ugly now.
If I were one of the trailer owners in the vicinity(my grandmas was, she had cancer so guess who got to control the infestation…) I would have absolutely been pressing legal action for damages and paid someone to remove all of the waste possible just to Jack the bill as high as possible.
It’s horrible, my wife turned the lights off one night after I said not to, when I woke up and turned on my flashlight THE FLOOR STARTED MOVING.
I wanted to d*e, certifiably, that night.
Dumped a lot of boric acid in every nook and cranny around the house that the dog couldn’t get into and I really did manage to control and almost eliminate the infestation but only through many sleepless nights of hunting, spraying poison, cleaning said poison from surfaces people may contact, and crying all over the growing mountain of corpses around the house that I’d eventually have to remove.
Needless to say, grandmas trailer was happily given to a family member who wanted to bicker about who got the house, please fella it’s all yours never speak to me again for such gross behavior

Its a really good idea to clean your room/apartment/house properly from time to time.
I used to be so lazy that i didnt take out the trash for a month or two. Then the little bananaflyes would take over my kitchen.
I remember hunting them with a vacuum cleaner. In the end i took out the trash and set a glass full of moonshine with starwberry juice on the table.
All the remaining flyes tryed to drink it and died. And since then i have kept my place clean. I dont want the hasle of trying to kill thousands of flyes ever again.
Apple cider vinegar trap made out of a mason jar with small holes nailed in the top.
Just a little bit of apple cider vinegar and a couple drops of dish soap, they go into it like clockwork. Wash the trap and repeat.

Im all for asmon living his best life any way he chooses even though i couldnt do it. My one concern, is that he seems a traditionalist who seems to someday want a family. I have an L shaped desk. Which has junk on it. Then a second desk off to my left where I stack dishes. Ocassionally I save an old can for a spit cup. I now have a large bowl sized coaster where I put good drinks. (I don’t care if the soda is flat, after 3-4 days is when you can really taste a difference, besides the general lack of carbonation)

This is hardly the first example I've seen of it, but in this video, I was a lot more bothered by that inability to do their own work than the actual mess. I was talking with a young nurse a few weeks back while visiting my uncle in the hospital who was lamenting how her generation just doesn't want to do anything and how frustrated she was at it. She even mentioned how she didn't want to have kids because she was worried about raising them in today's world.
Look, I'll admit that even back in MY days of school (I'm 34), I would occasionally cheat my math homework by using a calculator. But I quickly learned that I wasn't actually helping myself by doing that and that I would score much worse on tests. It also helped that most, though not all, of my teachers back then actually cared about their job and could usually sniff out the people who copy/pasted stuff from wikipedia or cheated in math because they wouldn't show their work and made efforts to reach out to the kid and ask them if they needed help.

It would still risk something knocking it over by catching the handle of the fork, like if you're walking by it it might fall over, or if you put it on a desk you might accidentally knock it over when you reach for something else. But yeah a lighter fork would be better.

Together, we can defeat the bugs.
You need:
2x hard boiled egg yolk (no white)
1x TSP Borax
1x TSP Sugar
Mix the three ingredients into a bowl. Add a few drops of water (see below) and work to desired texture. Store in freezer lasts forever.
A few drops of water will make a crumble, a few more makes a paste. To use the crumble, break a piece and toss it wherever problem areas are. Behind fridges, stoves, in pantry, or anywhere else.
If you need a paste (rare) add a few drops of water more and apply like peanut butter to undersurfaces, etc.
It is literally bulletproof, and the borax gets them every time. You can use it on your clothes, so it's an ingredient you can use for other things. The rest of the ingredients (water, yolk, sugar) you probably have.
I make this for friends and family and every year I get a request for resupply.

Skin and hair get oily and this oil and sweat go to bedsheets, making them dirty over days. The more oil gets to the bedsheet, the harder it is to clean them completely. So it's easier to prevent stains' occurrence that remove them when they get strong.

I once had to stay in a hotel in Armenia for three days, and the room they put me in had a whole bunch of roaches. I haven't even eaten inside the room to attract them or anything like that. There were at least 15 of them, maybe more, I lost count. It's really unpleasant to have creatures on your clothes or other stuff.
