Regus' speed is pro level, and as you said he has great anticipation and is very poised

your excellentt footwork in that superb rally at 4:35 should be your template Luke! They kept moving. I think on some of the other shots where you missed on slow balls your feet were sometime less 'happy'! I also think your movement is good when you are looking to move around your backhand to hit a forehand. I have found that looking to do that has also made my footwork sharper. Also, wish I could smash like you. Especially your bounce smash. Been playing over 40 years and I don't smash like you bro!

Thank you so much for your comments Brian, you’re always super positive and your advice is spot-on! It’s very kind of you to take the time to write and I really appreciate it.
Totally agree about the footwork, I need to work on my fitness because when I get tired it’s my footwork that seems to deteriorate the fastest.
I’m really happy you noticed the improvement with my smash, I had a lesson to focus on it which really helped!
      40 years playing?! Wow! That’s cool 😎
Where are you playing these days?

@@chiangmaitennis I just do my best to be supportive and constructive Luke. Its great to see the enthusiasm and honesty that you bring to the game and your vids. I play in KL these days. Just got back to playing a few matches in the Kotam league here after not competing for over 20 years. Just trying to ease myself in a bit.

Great to hear you’re playing again. How have your matches been going so far?

@@chiangmaitennis So far going ok thanks Luke. But building slowly to get back to my previous level. The game has changed alot in the last 20 years. The poly strings and stiffer/more powerful rackets have made the game faster. My old counter-punching game needs some adjustment. Controlling rallies from the first shot is more important these days as people can strike early in the point! 😅

@@brianodonoghue7415 oh I see what you mean. Hopefully with time the adjustments will start to feel second nature. Really happy to hear you’re getting back into playing, that’s the main thing, getting back in the horse! 💪
