Thank you, that's a great observation. I've been trying to stay more patient in the rallies and also sometimes I forget to breathe so as the rally goes on I get more and more tense. Patience does not come naturally to me so I will keep working on it! :)

That’s great advice, thank you so much. I completely agree with you. I notice these problems (weak return, short strokes) get worse when I’m tense, especially during the important points. It’s definitely something I need to improve. Thanks for taking the time to give such thoughtful feedback :)

Wow Brian, this is great advice, thank you! I’ve been working really hard on getting more variety on my serves so I’m incredibly pleased to see you noticed that. I think my kick technique needs some work because it sometimes makes my elbow sore but perhaps that’s just a timing issue. I’ll definitely try the middle box flat serve. I know that when I’m returning I find body serves very difficult to return so hopefully my opponents do too. As always, thanks for taking the time to watch and provide such thoughtful comments, it’s great! 😊

Totally agree about the footwork, I need to work on my fitness because when I get tired it’s my footwork that seems to deteriorate the fastest. Just got back to playing a few matches in the Kotam league here after not competing for over 20 years. Just trying to ease myself in a bit.

@@chiangmaitennis So far going ok thanks Luke. But building slowly to get back to my previous level. The game has changed alot in the last 20 years. The poly strings and stiffer/more powerful rackets have made the game faster. My old counter-punching game needs some adjustment. Controlling rallies from the first shot is more important these days as people can strike early in the point! 😅

😂 it’s a bit post-apocalyptic isn’t it! It’s the main sports stadium in Chiang Mai. It was probably a beautiful stadium at some point but hasn’t had any investment in a while. Still, it’s fun to play and hear the echo with each shot! 😂

There’s a great tennis scene in Thailand with lots of high level players. Court prices vary widely depending on location. The more touristy locations such as Pattaya and Phuket have higher court prices than places like Chiang Mai, but the courts are also higher quality.

@@danearl-mw4iz I’m not sure about Bangkok and Pattaya but if they’re like Chiang Mai then they will have a Facebook group for players to find each other. I’d start there.

Yeh agree Luke. A fast flat one closerto the hitting zone of a great player might not work. But mixing all three flat, kick and slice like you suggest is a good strategy bro!
