YEZZ INDEED!!! I think we have a "WINNER" Thanks Joe for making my decision on which 12 string guitar to buy so Ez...This is a "MUST HAVE" for my Arsenal!!! The possibilities for this guitar are endless!!! And I'm also glad that you demonstrated the fingerstyle touch with shows the diversity and richness of the differences of sounds that can be produced on the A12. I priced one at around $1,100.00. Not bad... the cool part is, how much fun that can be had by performing with this instrument and making that money back!!!! thanks again for sharing.😎
I love Godin guitars. I think they deliver the best bang for your buck out there. Sure, there are better guitars but you have to pay a hell of a lot more. I have an early Summit CT, a Richmond Dorchester (my avatar picture) and a Simon & Patrick electro-acoustic. They all play really well. I love the way Godin continually innovates too The acoustic-that-plays-like-an-electric concept is simply brilliant and I am seriously considering adding this 12-string to the family.
I'm still intrigued. How durable would you say the finish on the cedar top is or would some kind of pickguard be in order? Unfortunately, Godin doesn't offer the same kind of gloss tops as it does for the A6 ultra. A glossy black A12 would look terrific.
I'm very interested in purchasing this guitar. Would it be able to come near the sound of The Beatles or The Byrds, perhaps with the help of some pedals?
Hi Ross. We are using the Peavey Vypyr VIP-1 amp. It's a modelling amp that is programmable (4x Banks each with 4x color-coded presets). And, it models bass amps AND acoustic amps (in addition to the more common electric guitar tones). All of this makes it VERY versatile. In this video we are using their "Ecoustic" amp model (that's an acoustic amp that Peavey also makes) and we are capturing the sound with a Shure SM57 through a Peavey PV6 USB mixer sent into GarageBand. And, it is very affordable at $199 Canadian $. We hope you find this information useful. Thanks for watching!
Hi Neil. We meant to say "12 inch RADIUS". Meaning that the width of the finger board has the curvature of a circle with a 12" radius. The higher the number, the flatter the fingerboard. So, a 9" radius would have more of a curve. I hope this helps.
Closer to the Heart has a cuuute tone Dude, great sound and display, nice work!

A very eligible candidate for my next 12 string purchase. My old Alvarez 5054 12 string needs an upgrade.
I have one of these. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Sound great unplugged and even better plugged in. And it's tough as nails.
jes iwont have this great great sound
Just tried one today and it was the best 12 string guitar i've ever had the pleasure to play.
@@tp10488 Still have mine. About ten years now. Great guitar.
Wonderfull playing, nice sound!
Was looking for 12-string Guild but now it seems Im looking for this one instead... 👍
Get the Guild
@@thomasslaughter7766 Guild is Great but I got good deal on a Yamaha...
Nice playing brother
Would you be willing to play my bday party? That was superior...you and the guitar!
I am always surprised by how good these things sound for under $1,000. Must have (one day). And intonation sounds excellent too.
I have one of these. They are comfortable to play, sound great unplugged, fantastic plugged in and are built incredibly tough. Can't go wrong.
Hawaii RealMedia standard tuning or dropped?
Can someone identify the song that includes the riff at 2:01 of this video? Sounds like Genesys but the song name is not coming to me....
That is the intro to "Closer To The Heart" by RUSH
@@TheGuitarWorldCanada Thanks. I was way off :-) Thought it might be from Selling England by the Pound. Great demo BTW.

I've have one of these for about four years now. I play it all the time and it still looks relatively new. This thing is built like a tank.
Fully agree. Black would be awesome!
They do now!
😊
Being Canadian, were you required to play Rush? Just wondering ...
I want to buy one of these so bad I found one for $800 used but you can't tell on RUclips videos what they sound like unplugged

I've had one for years. Yes. Does it all.
What kind of amp are you using? And what amp would you recommend for someone on a budget?

Silk & Steel string work ok on a guitar like this amplified?
Hello Alberto. Silk & Steel should work fine.
whats a 12 inch rosewood fingerboard?
Hi Neil. We meant to say "12 inch RADIUS". Meaning that the width of the finger board has the curvature of a circle with a 12" radius. The higher the number, the flatter the fingerboard. So, a 9" radius would have more of a curve. I hope this helps.
You say later in the vid it has a 16in radius?
I now own one, and its 16” radius.
Joe makes an error when he says "12 inch". The A12 has a 16" finger board radius.
Neil Kraft Could you please tell me the nut width please. I've found 4 different measurements listed in the specs from different vendors.
