      All done, easy peasy following your video. bought the slightly bigger pack (5 sheets) and managed to do all radiators on external walls, and most in internal too….9 in total. @@FixitwithFowler

    Could you not extend the amount of plastic that hangs over the mounting bracket and then cut some strips to match the width remaining on the sides without the Raffle on?

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  6 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, you could extend the plastic if you wanted, but i didn't want to see the radflek behind the radiator.

    But half the radiator isn't covered, so how's that going to work with half the heat vanishing into the wall?

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  6 месяцев назад +2

      It all depends on how you install the radflek behind the radiator. Mine covers all of the radiator top to bottom but not the last 10cm on each side of the radiator, so about 80% is covered. You can, however, add longer supports so that the radflek cover the entire area of the radiator, but i didn't want to see the radflek.

    Can you not clip the included plastic bracket, onto the top thin metal strip of the radiator?

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, i think you would struggle with the radflek brackets, but you could always use a different type of bracket to hold the radflek sheet!

      Hi, our house was built in the 60s, and the insulation values aren't great. Personally, I have noticed a difference in my house, and you only need to fit them on external walls. amzn.to/47EH00O

    • @waqasahmed939

      I think so
      I put these in my parent's house years ago. They're meant to take a few years to pay for themselves ordinarily but they already paid for themselves before the recent issues
      If you've got a low flow temperature heatpump they're not that good but if you're the average person with a combi boiler, these are good
      They're meant for external walls but I had enough spare that I figured that I may as well pop it on the internal ones too. I don't think I'd get much benefit from the internal ones but hey it makes use of what I had spare

      @@FixitwithFowler Nw. I think these will eventually be useless for me, largely because I want to upgrade my microbore piping and get Jaga Strada radiators. That's when I'll use low flow temps of 30C hopefully
      Until then however, the radflek is decent

    It doesn't cover about half of the area behind the radiator.

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  8 месяцев назад +2

      It depends on your brackets, but on most modern radiators, the radflek sits about 10 cm in from each side and about the same from the top. Obviously, the bigger the radiator, the higher the percentage of the wall is covered, and in this case, it covers over 75% of the wall.

    • @dragonfly6908
      @dragonfly6908 7 месяцев назад +1

      Our radiators are over 20 years old and we cut some 15mm diameter plastic pipe and cut a slit in the pipe which slotted over the brackets enabling the Radclips to rest on top of the plastic pipe and therefore hiring the Radfleck up behind the radiator.

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, that is a brilliant solution for older radiators. I have some older radiators, and i ended up placing some wood on the existing brackets to lift the Radflek. Have you noticed a difference since fitting the Radflek?

    • @dragonfly6908
      @dragonfly6908 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@FixitwithFowler Than you for your reply. We are just in the process of fitting the Radfleck, we have done two radiators so far but we are hopeful that we will see a benefit. We also cut two strips 120mm wide and fitted them to both ends of the Radclips so that they hung at the other sides of the plastic pipe so the Radfleck covers a substantial part of the radiator.

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, the more coverage, the better, especially on bigger radiators. Fortunately for me, the radiator brackets need the end of the radiators, so i didn't need to add any more Radflek. Let me know if you're successful!
