    I am so glad I came across your video, I have scoliosis and struggle with how my back looks and clothes not fitting properly, I don't need surgery but in a lot of pain it is nice to see that there are other people out there in a similar situation as I dont know many people that have it

    you can't even imagine how happy it makes me feel seeing someone talk about scoliosis and their experiences with it!!
    Im a young teen who's been struggling with severe scoliosis for a long time (and im currently waiting for surgery!)
    I've been insecure about it but now I feel a lot better thanks to videos like this ❤❤

    I've always been insecure of my body, I'm only 15 years old and my parents are too broke for any treatment, and everyone is too busy to help me and all I've ever wanted was to look normal like other girls. Watching this video really made me set on trying to find help in some way. your videos really inspire me because they make me feel like one day I will actually be as confident as you. My back usually hurts really really bad occasionally, if I twist my back to crack it, I can hear the air leaving my lungs, which is actually terrifying for me sometimes. I feel like at this point of my life right now, I'm not sure what I can do but wait and pray to finally be treated. thank you for your inspiration.

    Oh my gosh! You're the first content creator I've seen who openly talks about scoliosis....I had surgery two years ago and while I'm confident in my skin I still hit rough patches every once in a while...thank you for being a voice. I wish I had you when I was younger--what an empowering person you are. :)

    7:14 beautifully said, but as someone with a body dysmorphic parent, I decided to think to myself “My body is the vessel that lets me do the things I love, and I will reward it well. Be it eating well, or moving.” I have gone as far as arguing with anyone trying to project their dysmorphia or food restrictions on me, telling them to keep that toxic thinking to themselves because I am having none of it. I think I was quiet enough as a kid, not anymore.

    Love your videos. You are amazing and inspiring. I too have a spinal issue due to AS (ankylosis spondylitis) and hated annoying comments about my posture. No matter what, you are still beautiful. Don’t let the trolls bring you down and stop you from living your life to the fullest. Wear whatever clothes makes you happiest and looks fabulous.

    Samee!! I never knew i was diagnosed with scoliosis tbh, untill the day i couldnt breath. I didnt even know i had health issues AT ALL! so ill tell u the story. So for a few months, my back was hurting, and my chest was really like.. someone was trying to stab u uk? And then, my mum turned the AC for me, but instead i cooled off, i started sweating and mum took me to the hospital. When we were doing the x ray for lungs- heart, the doctor told mom "hey.. i see a curve in her waist. If u see the x ray, youll realize theres a curve." I had NO IDEA what was scoliosis. Untill i searched it up and saw my spine in the x ray. I was luterally traumatized. I was only 11 and had it for half a year and NEVER knew untill augest 25. I was scared i was gonna get bullied bc alot of things changed in my life. I cant do activities such as basket ball, or anything bending down. I would get really sad and disappointed in myself. And it was the reason bc i grew too fast. Im 5'3 at 12 years old.. and i hate being like that. But with u, u make me feel happy:) and the curve was 17 degrees, on the ribs wich causes LOTSSS of breathing problems, and had a huge allergy in my heart wich im allergic to forest, trees, prolly even leaves and flowers, everything nature like grass im allergic and would suffocate. And dust.

    I had to wear a back brace until I stopped growing but I was embarrassed of wearing it to school, so I'd only wear it to sleep. Don't know if the brace would've helped prevent my back from getting worse but my back makes me feel a bit insecure about my body... would've loved to be a few inches taller too, which would be the case if I didn't have scoliosis.. My parents were sick of hearing about my scoliosis when the doctor determined the only solution now was surgery (and that my curve was severe), so I was never treated on :( my parents said I could do it as an adult if I decided to. I'm 29 now. I don't feel back pain or anything for the most part, so that's my main hesitation to not get back surgery. But my body does look crooked

      Girl, I'm in the same situation. I hated to use a back brace. I cried because it hurt so much on the hips and I couldn't really breath with it. I was also wearing it at night but it didn't help much tho. My parents and I then moved back to our home country and I never had a treatment again on it and I grew out of the brack brace so I didn't wear it anymore. I am now back in the country where I got the treatment when I first was diagnosed with it but I'm afraid to go to the doctor and to hear that I need to get the surgery. I work in a bakery and you stand a lot, walk a lot and sometimes you grab heavy things that goes straight into your back. I'm afraid my work made it worse and that I can't work there anymore. I don't have a lot of back pain, it's just sometimes when I'm standing to much in work. But I also hate seeing me in the mirror with that curve, standing like whatever stands like that and yeah... You're not alone

      My doc told me that before it was believed that it stops progressing after you are done growing but that he personally witnessed a lot of cases where it kept worsening soo theres not really a way to tell sadly

      If you have a curve greater than 45-50 degrees, there's a big chance the curve will get worse even in adulthood. I had 75° when I was 18,but at 21 I found out that it progressed up to 85°,so I got the surgery

    I am curious does it affect pregnancy? Life if you got surgery, does it make pregnancy painful or hard ? What if your scoliosis is untreated then does it affect pregnancy?

    • @eledits5150
      @eledits5150 Год назад +1

      I was told by my doctor that if you have a severe curve at the bottom part of your spine where your stomach is located it will affect pregnancy, so it’s best to get it treated. Not sure about the surgery part tho.
