- I recently had a short few weeks of being obsessed with Excite Truck, since i used to play this game so much as a kid. As a result of that, i figured I'd make this video and share it with you. i hope you enjoyed.

This was such a great game. I missed my chance picking up the sequel and now its hard to find in old game shops. I would enjoy a video on it.
I remember this game so much. I remember as a kid being so exited when I got to the super events and unlocking the alt versions of all the trucks but then getting really annoyed at the difficulty spike. Especially when trying to do air spins and they just would not happen. I miss this game. I may look for a used copy now and buy it for my wii at my parents house and replay it. Thank you for the nostalgia trip. I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers this hidden gem
Definitely remember this game, driving in Fiji, blasting Kanye, Black Eye Peas and pop hits from 2007. A classic
Lot of memories of my university days in this video. It was super approachable with just the right amount of complexity and pulling off a tree run was just hard enough to feel satisfying while not being out of reach for less-experienced players. I got much more into it than Excite Bots. Real shame it's only up to two player multiplayer because this could have been one of the all time great party games.

EXCITE TRUCK!!!! I think that was my favourite Wii game of all time.
Remember taking ages trying to figure out how to move the Wii-mote to do the tricks, this took me right back!

This was an awesome game 👍. I literally plsyed this to death lol . One of those games where you kerp saying " one more go " and before you know it , the early hours of the morning have arrived lol .
The shifting landscape never ceased to amaze me .
I cant remember if i ever unlocked the super monster truck but i did get the first one . Ahhhh the nostalgia of playing this game. Great fun times ....and i was late 30s playing this one lol . Great review 👍

I wish Excite Truck and Speed Racer had analogue stick controls instead of motion controlled steering. Even in Dolphin the steering feels flimsy because of this.
Yeah. I feel like the forced motion controls is what held this game back more than anything. Although as I was playing the game I did end up getting pretty used to it. I think the worst part about the the motion controls isn't even the basic steering the car, but trying to do air spins because it seems to be like a 50/50 if it'll even work at all lol.
@@flaming62 The Wii or all systems in general should have all games work properly with a standard dual analogue controller. Motion controls or any other gimmick should be a secondary option. So many arcade racers on Wii were ruined by this gimmick. A great example of this is Cruisin. Try that one and tell me how well the steering works.
@@Jolly-Green-Steve yeah I'd have to agree honestly. However, sometimes being forced to use the gimmick can be frustrating in a funny way. Sometimes the gimmicks of a certain console can be enjoyable, but they should still support standard controllers.
excitebots was this but better in every way
Sorta. It depends on opinion really. I just prefered this game over excitebots because this one used normal vehicles instead of robot animals and insects. Excitebots is still pretty good though, and I'm pretty sure I'll do another video on it in the future.
the lack of spins in the air is disturbing to me! and needs more tree runs
@@LuckyXerxes yeah I got to that later in the game. Most of the footage I used for this video was from when I had just started playing the game again. I improved quite a bit by the time I was done though!
problem always was the controller. I hate the Wiimote so much and very few games let you use the pro controller 1:1 without missing any feature.
I honestly love the Wiimote.. as a one handed controller. Games like wii sports were perfect for the Wiimote, while games like Mario kart or Excite Truck, not so much.
@@flaming62 it's not that bad but I hate it. it's not as precise as a regular controller. that's why mine is collecting dust and gets fired up maybe once a year.
Possibly the best? No way. NES, SNES, GBC/GBA, Switch, DS, 3DS and GCN are all better. It’s better than the 64 but not by much
In terms of sales numbers, the wii is nintendo's best (non-handheld) console. I'd also like to mention that when I said it was possibly the best console they ever made, it was purely my opinion, and wasn't really based off anything else.
Get the microphone out of your mouth.
Yeah I'm not sure why it sounded so crappy in this video, but I really didn't want to re-record the entire script again so I just went with it and tried to mitigate the awfulness of it. I've used this mic before for my other videos and it's never done this before but I'll try to have it fixed by the next one lol. Maybe I can learn to remove it from my mouth along the way.
