The kitten showed signs of distress at the same part of the film in the animation (right as scar dropped Mufasa she looks away and licks her back as a self soothe) and even more in the live action (twice turning away and going toward owner for comfort) while otherwise watching the scene intently. It really looks like she understands what is happening, or at least the musical score is influencing her the same way it does for humans. Really interesting!
I’ve never seen the live action Lion King before but just seeing this scene makes me cry aswell as the animated Lion King, it’s so cute that Sparkles love Lion King, I used to have a cat that liked Teletubbies lol 😂. I think you should try Aristocats movie next.
In my opinion: Both. In the animated version he tries to rescue Simba, in this life action version he is looking for comfort from his human and purring to comfort himself. In both versions he is reacting very agitated and focused, ears speaking and licking himself to break his own fear and pain. I could not decide. What do others think? Love this cat and the owner. ❤
