The last part was showing a really organic design for the mask and armor, love it, I think that the mask and head look a lot like the one used in the predator killer scene.
Practical effects of the original movies are better than any of this CGI. There's a reason why the Predator looked so good in the original movie, He wasn't a CGI render. Green Screens and CGI just does Not look as good as practical effects.
It's really, REALLY frustrating that so many unused designs and conceptual images didn't make it into the 'making of' book. That would have made the book so much more than what it was... Lackluster and short.
such a pity to see all this work wasted on one of the worst predator franchise films.. i dont know how you can have so much groundwork laid out on what to do and what NOT to do, yet still make something worse than avp.
my comment was purely aimed at the decision-makers on the project. no one else can help how bad the film turned out, regardless of the quality of their work.
Yall got robbed... I wanted to see the friendly preds and spider hybrids! Question, was the mask with the plasma caster on the kid part of the rewrites? The fugitive predator had the same mask and attached a shoulder cannon and only used the shoulder cannon...
Good luck with nailing the design of the creature in Predator 5 (Skulls); the Stan Winston design is the best so far.
