  • This 2010 Audi Q5 has multiple issues. Has set missfire codes, fuel trim codes and a code for a faulty air Injection system pressure sensor out of range. Video illustrates some of the challenges diagnosing these conditions. Shows access to the AIR pressure sensor, flushing the intake system and injectors, access to the low pressure fuel pump etc. If I end up replacing fuel injectors I'll post a follow up video.

    This extent of diagnostics is rare nowadays. Good on you my friend you should have a bigger following

      Thanks for watching. That Audi was definitely a challenge for sure.

    Hey just for your knowledge ODIS Has a test plan for the single cylinder injector imbalance codes. Also if you just and cap off The low pressure fuel line no need to disconnect anything electrically.
    I like the way you document everything.

      Duh I wonder why I didn't think of that. Im sure the low pressure pump has a mechanical pressure regulator in it. Oh well next time.

    Great diagnostic, you went above and beyond. If it comes back later for the SAI code then you will probably have to clean the SAI ports in the heads which is not a fun job.

      Yes ive seen what's involved but not really keen on doing one.

    Can you help me with the location of bank 1 secondary air injection pressure sensor please? My have p2432 code only. When I erase code there is no engine light until I turn off the engine and restart. The car has no any symptoms.

    Great job Phil, you should grab a Phil’s probe from AES Wave 11” or 15” to probe connectors like in back of motor. You’re channel is very underrated. I’m going to share this in my Automotive groups. Great job ... Jay. Ps: do you have a link for that fuel injector cleaner set up?

      I believe we need a 2.5 to 5 gallon tank for the cleaner so you could drive the vehicle to get the injector duty cycle up. But maybe I'm thinking about that wrong? The injectors are either open or closed just cycled slower or faster for idle vs higher load. So never mind. I do like that you didn't just load up the parts cannon without trying some less expensive options. Very well done. Expensive injectors, huh. YIKES!!!

    Great video Phillip. Curious whether all you did solved the problem for this customer or was additional work performed to solve this issue. Fuel injector or other? Thanks.

    • @PhillipBailey

      I did the fuel injectors and cleaned the intake valves with walnut shells as well as replacing the pressure sensor and electric air pump. It was an expensive repair.

      @@PhillipBailey thanks Phillip for the quick reply. Thinking I may have similar issues so not to pleased to hear about an expensive fix as it seems to involve a fair bit of labor besides the parts. Thanks again.

    Hey Philip, I've been getting codes P21A0/P21A1 on my OBD scanner, any tips on what the problem can be and how I can get it fixed., I have an 2010 Audi Q5

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  2 года назад +1

      Those codes represent cylinder imbalance on number 5 and 6. Could be ignition related but more than likely intake carbon deposits causing this. Also possible injectors delivering excess fuel. Need to do some diagnostics.

    So I’m getting code P2432 which is the same code you got in the video but i don’t know what to replace is it just the air injection pressure sensor?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  Год назад

      It will likely need the SAI pressure sensor replaced.

    I’ve been getting Air Fuel Ration Imbalance on cylinder 1 2 and 3 for about two months now. I tried changing spark plus, new valve cover gasket and General maintenance and nothing seems to solve it. Any idea? This is driving me crazy.

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  3 года назад

      First of all I assume you are dealing with the same vehicle as this video shows. Assuming that how does it start especially on a warm restart? Does it ever show misfires? Are you able to view the fuel injection pressure while running? What happens to the pressure when you shut it off. You may have one or more injectors leaking or at least delivering too much fuel, the fuel trims should be running around 0 on both banks. If one is significantly negative you either have a skewed air fuel ratio sensor or one or more leaing injectors on the bank. If convenient to could try swapping afr sensors side to side. Hope this helps

      Phillip Bailey Yes, 2011 Audi Q5 3.2 V6. She starts perfectly everytime. It has never shown a misfire nor does it hesitate under hard acceleration. Air Fuel Ratio Imbalance on Cylinders 1-3 are the only codes I get. I haven’t checked the fuel injector pressures but thought about taking them out and taking them to clean and test. I’ll try swapping AFR sensors first to see if thats the problem.

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  3 года назад

      Taking them out to swap is not an option in my opinion. You will need seal kits, seal installation and resizing tools and that is provided that they come out without having to put visegrips on them thus destroying them. I'd leave that as a last resort. Try swapping AFR sensors if you can, clear the codes and reset the fuel trims and see what happens. You might want to check backpressure while the AFR is out and compare side to side. Could have a slightly restricted cat on the troublesome bank. Good luck.

    I watched the video but the video doesn't show the location of secondary air flow system pressure sensor. If you can help me with the location on 2009 audi Q5 SUV.
    Thank you so much

      It's on the back of the engine below the throttle body. You need a mirror to see it. Its hard to describe exactly where it is. I had to Google it and found it in an Audi forum.
