Hi Anna, we are located in the Cologne Bonn area. Singer's name is Alina Heeg. She has got some more songs on yT with other bands. Up till now we've got 2 songs out. Hopefully we will do some more in the future, time will tell😉

Well, I really like Silbermond ... B 96, Leichtes Gepack,
and Himmel auf really stood out for me.
I had never heard someone sing in German before
and it was very melodic. (I wasn't really sure what to
expect but I found it quite enjoyable)
Obviously I didn't completely understand the songs
but the lead singer was extremely pleasant to look at.
(both Alina and this lead singer are definitely
aesthetically pleasing ... )
I'm not a musician but I did sing in choirs in elementary
school .. enough to realize that I did not have a professional
quality voice. (I'm a currency trader)
I do not know the percentage of people that are tone
deaf but I suspect it is quite high ... they often make up for
lack of talent with volume ...
You can't really go wrong with Paul Simon/Simon and
Garfunkel songs ... unless you get into sad songs .. eg.

Hi Robert, when I was in my twenties there was a Band on the rise called BAP which started in tiny clubs and later became a German Supergroup😉. Very special about them was their language which is a Cologne dialect called Kölsch. Their singer Wolfgang Niedecken wrote the lyrics and songs together with Klaus ' Major' Heuser. Listen to their CD ' Für usszeschnigge which means in English 'For cutting off'. Furthermore I can recommend Nena, Udo Lindenberg, Kraftwerk, Wolf Mahn, Die Toten Hosen,Sarah Connor, Die Fantastischen Vier, Die Ärzte. Most of the lyrics are not trivial, so this is probably difficult and a pity that you.can't understand it. Come on Robert, learn German! Different styles but typical German Music of the last 40 years. Have fun listening to it

I'm Canadian and I easily think of a lot of Canadian singers whose
material would translate quite nicely to your style.
I've often thought that a lot of Gordon Lightfoot's material woulld
sound interesting sung by a woman. (eg. Pussywillows, Cattails)

historic. (or so beautiful) :)
This will probably sound ridiculous to you but when I
think of German musicians the first name that comes to
mind is Beethoven so I'm happy to think that a German
music industry even exists. ;)
I live just north of Toronto, about an hour plane
flight from New York City.
Speaking of Rapture, there is an Anita Baker song,
"Caught Up in the Rapture," which I think Alina and Seven Hills
would cover beautifully.
Have you ever thought of covering, "Midnight at the Oasis" ..?
(I suspect Alina would have fun with this)
It would be interesting to hear a female voice do a cover version
of "All Right Now" by Free since I happen to really like the song but
this would a real departure from what you may be interested in.

Yes, Cologne is one of the oldest cities on the old continent. Founded by the Romans as Colonial Agrippina around 2000 years ago. By the way there is a vivid and strong musicl industry here singing both in German and English. Check out for example Silbermond,one of the top selling acts singing in German. Beethoven was born in Bonn, about 20 km south of Cologne. I listened to your songs. Good choices but too slow,lol. We did two slow songs, now it's time for something faster.😉. I thought about Paul Simon's 50 ways to leave your lover. A good mixture of jazzy verses and uptempo chorus. Are you a musician, too. Thanks for your friendly way of commenting. easily have a book in you as well .. you are obviously
'extremely' knowledgeable about the German music scene.
I have heard of Nena and I am aware of the Terminator
chasing Sarah Connor but beyond that I am pretty
much ignorant on this topic.
With respect to learning German .. it does not
sound intimidating ... I checked German out on
udemy and there was even a free course available
(3 Minute German) if I wanted to pursue this on the
cheap.
I'll check out these performers ... thank you for
taking the time to make me less ignorant.
