Tourist In Your Own Town #33 - Trinity Church

Take a look inside Trinity Church in Lower Manhattan. The present church is the third built on this site for New York's oldest Episcopal congregation. Designed by Richard Upjohn in 1846, Trinity is one of the first Gothic Revival buildings in New York City.
The surrounding cemetery is the final resting place of many notable Americans including Alexander Hamilton, Robert Fulton and Francis Lewis.
Designated a City and National Landmark, Trinity Church offers a peaceful setting for many downtown residents, workers and visitors.

in 2015, Hamilton gets a little more attention when Lin-Manuel Miranda creates a musical based on Alexander Hamilton's life titled Hamilton: An American Musical and it becomes a Broadway blockbuster. In 2016, Hamilton was nominated for 16 Tony awards and winning 11 including Best Musical. As of 2020, Hamilton currently holds the record for Most nominations for a musical with 16.
