I grew up with all gas appliances, perfectly safe. Gas stoves are the best to cook on. Beautiful garden for you and George! Best of luck with those squirrels, they are very clever and athletic!
Make sure your fur baby (George?) doesn't eat any mushrooms either. Toxic for him also. Love your view. My view from my craft room is a cow pasture!😂 thanks for sharing your beautiful home and yard.
So enjoyed this Vlog Claire ❤ Your home is coming along great. Beautiful garden you have. I absolutely love the shed in the back. Wow!! That would be a fantastic workshop for your woodturning. George is so adorable ❤ I have a rain barrel also and just love the water from it for my flower planters. So looking forward to seeing your next Vlog. Take great care ❤❤❤
as long as you don´t eat mushrooms you don´t know your fine, you don´t need to disinfect your hands, lol, your house is getting along nicely, one step at a time, you get there
I love all your videos your an amazing lady we just got moved into our new place this weekend my kitchen and part of my bedroom is done now its the scary part my livingroom and trying to make a craft corner lol
Carmel - I am really struggling with my gas oven - things just seem to be taking forever and honestly - there was only two gas ovens on the market here - I believe they are trying to do away with them. If the instructions say 30 mins - it is taking 60mins :(
Claire invest in a leaf blower ,i no longer have to rake and you can also get a blower that sucks up the leaves for you to place in the garden waste bin xxreally enjoying your videos on your new house ,glad you are getting straight .dont over do it ....says me with the patience of a dead gnatt😂❤❤
Oh yes it’s all coming along nicely, new gutters look great!! Garden looks great, can you do a pile burn in your back yard with all the cut off branches, instead of getting a pick up?? For the stains on your fireplace would a cream cleanser or something like pink stuff or gumption work to remove the pumpkin stains. Really enjoyed this vlog lady! George is so bloody cute I can’t handle it!!
heyyyyyy lovely - oh I need to try a cream cleaner or the pink stuff - I still havent tried anything but we have the gas engineer coming tomorrow to test the fireplace and give us a certificate so after he is done - I will give it a good scrub :) xx I am not sure about doing the burn because we have tight neighbours and overhanging trees so it worries me lol
@ yes definitely try it, our kitchen bench top is stone and the cream cleanser stuff just gets off all stains even tough stains like curry and bolognaise sauce
Gees Claire even my house here in Australia is 102 years old, though I question that, it’s old for our standards but I’d have thought less than that. It’s not like an old English house, it’s an old Australian cottage. You’re getting there girl. 🥰
I would say lightly Decorate the fireplace just to have a little happiness 💜 but I wouldn't go crazy since it so close to Halloween and you are already so busy 🥰
thank yoooo lovely xx and yes they will have to search elsewhere lol the little birds have already eaten two out of the three fat balls that I put in there
Having a house with a garden like that takes more than one would think. I live in a flat and I grew up in one too but we have my dad's childhood home as our summerhouse and it has a garden five times that size while the house is about a third of yours. Thanks for the spider warning and those mushrooms are edible as far as I know.
I think the squirrels will go along the branch and down the twine but we will see! You have done remarkable getting your house and craft room where it is so soon😊
I’m the same as you. I won’t cook with gas. It scares me. Why not get shot of the garage door and replace it with the door you actually want. No chopping bricks with a bread knife that way. Simples 😂. You are clearly in your element up north. I’m so happy for you x
Watching this, it’s only 4 days to Halloween, so I would not decorate 😊. Thanks for the radiator heating explanation. I hope it’s efficient for you. Ohmigosh…laundry in the kitchen! I love that you are always busy and manage to be productive with your efforts. Squirrels are buggers….thanks for sharing today!! 🤗🌻
Ahhhh thank yoooo Kathy x so sorry I couldnt remember who asked about them haaaa xx They are for sure efficient - we should service our boilers every year and bleed our radiators every year too - to remove any air. xx
Hi Claire. Suggestion. If you’re not going to use the garage for a car. You could add a small extension to the front, with a door & window & leave the garage door open? Also, I’m with you on the gas. You could get a carbon monoxide alarm, like a smoke alarm, for peace of mind.
heyyyyy my lovely - oooo yes that is a great idea - we did think about extending it - equally we didn't want to block space to back door - but it is definitely something to think about :) We have two carbon monoxide alarms - couldn't live without them :) lol it is scary - I have booked the service now so I feel better xx
Haha those squirrels will work out how to get to those feeders - they’re so clever. If they can solve an assault course, your jump won’t keep them stumped for long The magpies will work it out too
You're making the house your own. That's wonderful. Yep, crying again just hearing you talk about "A Man Name Otto". Great movie. Yes, do your fireplace. You'll be glad you did. Interesting that your washer and dryer are in the kitchen. Is that common in your neck of the woods? LOL Ooooo, what are you making? Excited to see your resin project on the other channel. Take care, sweetie. xoxoxooxoxoxo
YES! Decorate your fireplace, please! Glad you're over that awful hump of "where-the-$!/&@¢?-am-I-going-to-put-everything?" part of a house move! I haaate that part! It feels so great to get past that. How I wish we could replace our two bathrooms! Most older American baths are no bigger than the UK ones, not at all. They're closets! They didn't start getting larger until the 80s, for most new homes. Those lifting garage doors are called "bay doors". 😊 Yes, a side door is absolutely necessary for any garage! @ClairesCraftyCorner *RE: DORMANT TREES.* Pull that leaf mulch BACK away from the trunk UNTIL the tree is fully dormant! If mulch is too thick/heavy it can prevent a tree from going dormant! Then, if it's pruned during Winter, it can get Winter-kill. Sure hope you see this!
We have so many squirrels they got into the house. The red squirrels are very damaging. You can put oil on the string or wax so that the squirrels can't hang on if they do get that far.
I am so jealous of your weather…. It’s 87 degrees (30 celsius)…. 😒 Now that you have a new love of raking, feel free to visit, we have an entire acre to rake and clean out all the trees and branches after Milton… lol Like you said about one box at a time, we’re using that logic for the trees… 😂 I’m probably one of the few people who like and feed the squirrels…. I’m in the minority, my husband is not a squirrel lover… lol The kitchen vibe was so cozy, totally get it… Love to George!!🥰😘
wow 87 - so do you have hot Christmasses ? I think if I had that much land I would feed all of the things haaaa so much space and such a blessing :) xxx

I literally live in the woods, the squirrels are the vein of my existence!! We had so many this spring and then the foxes and coyotes moved in for a couple months and squirrel population is manageable again!
Your mushrooms looks like a field mushroom. Which is edible. If it was slightly yellow I would say wood mushroom. Also, edible. The field mushroom has deep, pink gills, that turn dark brown as it matures. A white cap that can be discoloured brown. Was once very common, now harder to find due to agricultural chemicals and habitat loss. As implied by its name, grows in fields and meadows, as well as broad-leaved mixed woodland. The closest toxic mushroom that looks like that is a destroying angel but their gills are white and stay white.
If your squirrels are anything like the ones at my house, they’ll use that twine as a direct route to good food. I ended up with squirrel proof feeders AND squirrel feeders.😁 Good luck.
Claire search "squirrel assault course". The ingenuity of squirrels appears to know no bounds. Because you are on the edge of a wooded area you're just going to have to put up with the squirrels. Some of the "squirrel proof feeders" may work in the short term. I'm editing to add "on RUclips" for the squirrel vids.
