I'm pretty sure it was expensive as hell to develop, so the price is okay (even compared to the OMD-EM5 or the X-Pro 1), but yeah, since it's cheap to just use a A65 body with A55 functions and a new EVF, this camera is also cheap. Don't get me wrong - A57 is a great camera with great value! This pricing just makes sense for Sony.

would the auto portrait feature be available on the a77 or a65 on the next update? i hope it would be there. it also is a good feature.

The a55. Its awsome don't get me wrong but if I only waited I would have got this new variation for the same price.
I like the smaller size of the A55. However, the new EVF seems a lot better - really want to compare it to the EVFs in the A65/77 or NEX-7.
