    The pot was too big for the 9v so I cut some rubber mats, wrapped it around the stem then wrapped the aluminum tape (couldn't find copper tape but it works just as well, just kinda tricky to solder the wires to it) keep it there, then attached some wires leading to a 9v battery hidden in a medicine bottle (for the weather proofing).

    I just emailed this to one of my housemates that takes care of our fruit trees! We don't have an issue with snails; but we have a major issue with worms that get into apples and pears. They apparently crawl up the trunk first.
    They are tinny little things though, so, I'm not sure if you'd be able to get copper tape close enough together that they can touch both strips at the same time. Who knows though; he might figure out a way.
    Has to be better then all of the other ways we try to keep them away.

    • @mreverybody1150
      @mreverybody1150 Год назад

      You ca try copper mesh or tape on it's own. Just be sure to place layers on top of each other for the trial.

    To avoid a short-circuit and draining the battery whenever watering or rain, you could spray the sides to be hydrophobic. maybe that's even enough to stop them to begin with. But if hydrophobic spray doesn't stop them, it at least stops the current when the whole setup gets wet.
