Wait I thought it was just Zavala being overly serious and not getting the jokes hes accidentally making. IT WAS A MALFUNCTIONING DEVICE THIS WHOLE TIME??
@@Lylybeebee There's some that believe that Cayde might have played a prank on Zavala and made the Strike name generator to put out funny names for Strike operations for a brief time.
I really like what they did to this strike. It’s pretty different, being able to work alongside ally NPC’s in a strike is awesome, and removing the boss cheese means you actually have to put effort in during the boss fight. Stuff like this gives me hope for bungie to revisit older ideas for strikes as they bring them up to proper context (I am particularly interested in the original concept for the Nessus strike)
Hmm, so Caiatl can quote the Art of War but doesn’t know of mythologies and their symbolisms? Guess we know what she likes to read. I also like how she essentially told Devrim to touch grass. Cabal are anything but subtle…
Eh, I'll give Caiatl a pass on that one. She's always been interested in old mythologies in the lore, but it's unlikely that an Old Earth myth would have reached her yet.
Right, why would they put them in another strike, especially one that was reworked to have the exact faction of Cabal in them that has them? It makes too much sense for bungie
I think they'll return if they add a faction that's the witnesses core forces in The Final Shape Hive Guardians aren't around because they're their own part of the hive that opposes the Witness and so won't show up in any regular hive activities. Tormentors on the other hand are said to be gifted to Calus, originally they are a small part of a wider army directly commmded by the witnesses.
@@ThatSpecificIndividual with the hive guardians, it really strikes me as very odd that they were marketed so heavily only to then just not be in the game. lore reasons be damned, combat isn't improving without more presence from these enemy types
Would’ve preferred if they let devrim explain the hydra thing briefly instead of making it a small gag. Just because caitl learning more about earth history/mythos is cool. Which now that I think about how does she not know? There was dialogue awhile ago saying she’s read old earth texts
to be fair, old earth pretty much means from the golden age back, so its really hit or miss if she's that read up on greek mythology, or even then, a non-bastardized version of it
Much of the knowledge of Earth’s history before the Collapse was lost so there was good chance Caiatl wouldn’t know Greek mythology very well. I mean if post-Collapse Humans don’t even know what a pineapple is or think Sheepdogs are a myth, how can an alien know what Hydra originally meant?
So some random ass arms dealer Bracus has a name more significant than Ghaul or any of the many Val Valus or Primus’ we’ve faced over the years?? Oofs all around. I guess it was easier to record dialogue than change his name.
I think that it's more aboout it being a middle ground. Bracus Zahn had a specific reputation as an arms dealer (which would be useful enough to hijack) but was not significant enough that many people would know the intricacies of what happened to him or what he looked like. Unlike him, many of the other Cabal we faced are likely a bit too significant to take their name so brazenly because they have left far bigger shoes to fill as well. It's quite clearly intentional because they did change the boss name in lake of shadows.
@@deletedflame8424 Maybe they wanted to follow the whole ‘repeating strikes are canon’ thing Kill one Bracus Zahn another picks up his name and takes his place But at some point the player knows this is a game. Not EVERY strike has to be repeatable in-canon. It’s just a neat story beat when it is.

I love how we've got dialogue between an alien empress and what's essentially a regular dude with a rifle
You mean a gentleman sniper and an Alien Empress
if the “he’s returned somehow” is a joke with the Palpatine situation, it’s brilliant
“somehow, Palpatine has returned” truly a line of all time

caiatl speaking like shes got personal beef with devrim
I love it when aliens get confused by human culture, there’s just something endearing about it.

Did they really almost pull off “somehow palpatine returneded” with the boss?
I think it was suppose to be a jab at the Palpatine line. Caiatl’s suggestion of a successor to Zahn makes sense though.
