  • Dmitriy Polishchuk has been serving as a police officer in Russia for 15 years.
But after the start of war that Russia wages against Ukraine, he could not calmly watch the war crimes and murders.
So he has demonstratively torn apart his Russian passport and military ID
After that he claimed to have joined the Territorial Defense of Ukraine in order to protect the people of Ukraine.

Thank You, Dmitriy Polishchuk, for being a true human being. Watching you destroy your passport, your Russian military papers (and pension), and your Internal Affairs Police papers (and 15-year pension), both saddened me and renewed my faith in the human race - that a person could be so dedicated to the safety and freedom of others, who were attacked by his own government, and that he would renounce that government, and destroy his identity as a Russian, a Russian ex-military man, and a Russian Police officer, is a humbling thing to watch.
Your words and your deeds are nothing short of extraordinary, and I salute you.
May you live through "Putin's war," and prosper with a happy and comfortable life when it is over. It is people like you that History often leaves off its pages, but people do not forget.

He’s in the custody of Ukraine, he doesn’t look happy, and his hands are shaking. I mean, at this point Ukraine needs to do what they need to do to stop this invasion, but we need to retain our senses when we see videos like this put out by Ukrainian state tv.

I am definitely for Ukraine in this entire situation, but if you can so easily spot Russian propaganda, then you would clearly see how this soldier was forced to say, and do this for the sake of this video. If he really wanted to rip apart his ID himself, he would do it voluntarily, by taking it out and then ripping it apart himself, not having it lay on the table the entire time, just so he could rip it apart for pure propaganda purposes, not to mention while shaking. Also, let's be honest here, if he could, he would join the Russian military again just to have every Ukrainian citizen or combatant killed.

@@te6607 true we have no way of knowing if he is genuinely a Russian or not but then we only have this video to go on. However to say they all speak Russian so they are all the same is not a well thought out viewpoint, Canadian's, American's, Australian's and British people all speak English but most people who speak English can easily tell the difference. Heck I'm English and I can tell the difference between people who live 20-30 miles apart by their accent and the same is true the world over, you might think all Russian speaking people look and sound the same but thats a bit like saying all black or Asian people look or sound the same, just because you can't see a difference doesn't mean there isn't one or that other people can't see/hear it. There are no doubt plenty of people Native to the language who could tell you precisely what part of Russia he is or isn't from by his accent as a starting point to determine his authenticity I'm even more certain the Ukrainians can tell the difference.
