maybe they were creeped out by their own thoughts when they expected a creepy Lolita romance and it didn't happen? 🤔it's possible they were tricked in the past by certain manga since this trope can sometimes appear in seinen romance genre (specifically targeted towards adult men) as far as I know, which Spy Family is not.

I am one of the [apparently very few] people who hated the Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. My smallest of gripes is that the title is a misnomer, it is not what the book is about at all. My biggest gripe is with the sexism/racism, and it is exactly one of the points you brought up that I take issue with - you said it was set in the 70s, but it's not. And this is a completely understandable error because the book reads like it was set in the 60s/70s with the way these men act, but it actually takes place in 1993. It's one thing to write that way on purpose, but it has to make sense, and for me it doesn't. If the book had been set in a different time period then maybe it would've been easier to swallow, I don't know, but the suspension of disbelief for these women in the early 90s collectively accepting this horrific treatment from their husbands is simply not possible. For me. Then the point at which the book skips ahead 3 years and the women went on as if nothing happened? There's no way. Simply no way. Putting their shitty husbands wishes above the safety of their children/community is not believable. And THEN the incident with Slick (i'm pretty sure? lol the religious one, whatever her name was) put me over the edge. I'm sorry, WHAT? Grady, my guy....... we need to talk. I gave it a generous 2 stars (more like 1.5 rounded up) because it had me convinced we were headed towards a redeemable ending, and under any other circumstance i would've put this down halfway thru and never thought about it again, and it had me fooled. Points for fooling me. Never again, Grady, never again.

I would love to read And every morning the way home gets longer and longer but... It just hits too close to home. My grandma suffered from Alzheimer's and it was disheartening to see her deteriorate to the point she didn't recognize her own children. Maybe some day I will be able to read it, but rn it's impossible. Great video 😊❤️

The only 1⃣ star I've ever given was for Once Upon A Broken Heart 😂 the story was absurd and there were so many juvenile writing errors I was embarrassed reading it. Didn't feel the connection or character development at. all. "Meanness doesn't suit you." MEANNESS?? Btw this was the Jacks, the heart throb, who said this.
