      I agree it can be a hustle but really it depends if you play too much solo mission, I despise playing Sabotage by myself, but when playing with my buddies, we split in two groups and hack both stations at the same time. Our current record is around 15-17 minutes so yeah, I would suggest getting a whole party for this kind of mission.
      I say all this but really the mission I HATE is Salvage, once you get to the Signal and power phase it gets horrible, you get confined to an small area and everything can go to hell in a second when playing Hazard 4-5, best strategy so far is switching places so there is always someone outside, I do enjoy the adrenaline, ngl, but really I feel the mission takes way too much time sometimes and it's not that fun imho

    Point extraction is my favorite yall. Driller is so important. He builds stairs to make the whole cave accesibble to everyone, speedrunds the aquarq digging and so on. And as Gunner i always put ziplnes up to make up quick transport routes downhill.
    And the combat is never so fun and challenging than beeing constantly swarmed while looking for the last goddamn aquarq!

    @nemorianderson Год назад +12

    For me on point extraction Gunner is actually the best class, and I always try to pick it on this type case it makes it so much smoother.
    The reason is ziplines. Because firstly you can ride zipline while holding aquark in your hands, and it's really the easiest and most effective way of bringing them from the lowel levels up. Transporting downwards is pretty easy for every class cause gravity exists, but with gunner again it's more reliable, cause you just take aquark in the hands and go wheeeeee!
    So eventually if gunner is not (dumbass) directionally challenged, he usually deploys an efficient zipline network through all the cave to the extraction point, and then aquark delivery is a breathe
    The second reason why ziplines and gunner are useful on point extraction is because the longer you on the mission the more bugs will spawn constantly, to the point of total zerg-rush when all the surfaces of the cave are brown and crawling. At that point, ziplines are actually a lifelines, cause when you are on zipline most enemies can't do nothing to you. I remember the mission when me and my friend ran out of ammo and there were hundreds of bugs around, and we were staying alive for a good ammoun of time only because I placed zipline networks everywhere in the cave and we could just running in circles from one zipline to another until we scratched enough nitra for supply.
    And also if there's an aquark on the ceiling, gunner can always get it by himself by wasting the whole 1 zipline and bring it down easily

  • @thebillybobjoe6460

    For me, industrial sabatoge is F tier. It's fun but so many things hold it back. The objectives are inefficient, having to not only find and line up transmitter nodes for TWO machines and then sit their and defend both of them is such a chore, and its not like it is that difficult either as you are not confined within a certain space like in mule missions, making the hacking sort of bland. As for the boss fight itself, but again, there is just so much waiting around. Why can't we attack the boss when it's launching phase bombs? What does the forcefield projection add besides padding out time? There is just so many times where you are just doing nothing but running around and unlike dreadnought missions, there is something to do inbetween downtimes such as hitting shields etc.

    • @user-we8kp3lc1s
      @user-we8kp3lc1s Год назад +1

      If you play with friends you can do 2 transmitters at once
      And shields that caretaker spawns are pretty good imo, they give some time to revive teamates/refill ammo without risk of getting shot by caretaker
      +you can attack caretaker without being shot if the shields are active if you have either grappling hook/zipline/rj250/platforms and stand on it

    • @thebillybobjoe6460
      @thebillybobjoe6460 Год назад

      @@user-we8kp3lc1s Solo this missions sucks, but even if you do it with 2+ people, swarms scale on the number of players. Can 4 pairs deal with a Haz 4, 4 man dense x2 swarm while split up, reliably? Sure each class can cover for each other's weaknesses but if a dwarf goes down then the other one will soon follow, and if one group dies then that puts the other group in a tough spot. This either fails the mission or just costs even more time in the long run, and you cannot deny the risk of a two man team dying, unless you want to use an iron will, which to me is better used on the boss.
      Unless you have field medic, you cant revive a teammate by yourself in-between the forcefields, and i guess you could make the argument that you can have time for resupplies but the Caretakers arms can still attack you while forcefields up anyway. We also arent going to mention the Patrol Bots and Shredder Drones that may also be problematic.
      I will admit that ziplines are a way for the other classes to attack the Caretaker but BASE Breach Cutter penetrates the forcefield while Scout can just outmaneuver the forcefield. But that brings up the next question, if 3 out of the 4 classes can just deal with it anyway, whats the point of it? (Driller might struggle timing charge shots) My point is, it's redundant.

    • @user-we8kp3lc1s
      @user-we8kp3lc1s Год назад

      @@thebillybobjoe6460 @thebillybobjoe6460 yes you can deal with haz 4 x2 swarm reliably
      Even with haz 5 x2
      If fact some players even play modded haz 6+
      And of course there are risks, there are risks in anything but the reward corresponds the risks and if you dont like the risks then just lower the hazard
      And if the dwarf dies the swarm stops when hac-c stops so you'll have to only deal with remeaning bugs and then revive Teamate
      And yes you do have enough time to revive teamate (unless it died very close to caretaker BUT the shields push the corpse away from the caretaker so you have to wait when it activates shields the second time) when caretaker uses shields even without battle medic if done correctly
      Also battle medic is one of the stronger perks anyway so people run it often
      Yes shredders and drones may be an issue but they can be worked around just like any other enemy
      And caretaker arms normally cannot attack when caretaker uses shields you becouse they are blocked by the shields
      Also saying that shields are redundant becouse 3/4 classes can deal with them anyway is like saying that swarmer enemies are redundant becouse 3/4 classes can deal with them
      They are the hassles that has to be worked around just like most other things in this game
      And they are quite fun in this regard, if you jump on caretaker to early you will be shot by its arms and to soon you will be bonked by the shield
      Industrial sabotage has its problems but even with them I don't see it below B-A tier

    I despise point extraction because of how the waves work. Normally swarms and ambient waves are set numbers of enemies (mining expedition, egg hunt, etc) or last for certain amounts of time (refining, salvage, and, industrial sabotage objectives) which makes sense
    Point extraction has this mechanic where the waves and swarms will continue to grow in numbers the longer the mission continues. This makes the game increasingly difficult, esp if the mission lasts for more than 15 minutes on higher hazards. I'm sure most people know this but that's why i personally don't like PE. Though i wouldn't want the mission type to be any different lmao

    Your opinion on PE is the exact opposite for me. PE missions for me are weird because I wanna hate but something about it is just fun for me. maybe its the fact the speedrunning a aquarqs, throwing the aquarqs on top of the deposit area from high ground, and grabbing all the ziplines on the way down on more vertical PE like a spider that make it so enjoyable even though I honesty think its just worse version of refining.
    For sabotage, you cant even say it being long is a problem because you can significantly speed the mission up by spliting into teams of 2 and just doing both hacking pods at the same time. Its become a norm for me and it saves like 10-12 mins on the run. You just got to make sure you split your engi and driller from each other. I personally think this makes the mission more fun too though, I should say I wouldnt recommend doing this on deep dives unless your team knows what they're doing.

    I think the issue with Point Extraction is really that it doesn't do anything other missions don't do already. You have a central hub like On-Site Refining (granted, this one at least has turrets), you dig out large things and carry them around similar to Escort Duty and Industrial Sabotage, you have a lengthy defence section after launching the rocket, but the main issue to me is really lugging the aquargs around. As heavy objects they're tedious to handle, the distance to the minehead can be very long, and also the map pool is the smallest of all mission types even after the patch that added more. And as a solo Gunner you're just kinda screwed unless you know exactly how to work with Bosco. It's definitely the one mission type I'd prefer to skip.

While egg hunt is very simple, its typically short runtime makes up for that and allows it to be a sort of "reprieve" from some of the other lengthy missions in the game. Point extraction seems to be one of the longest. Also, getting the eggs is much more interesting than getting aquarqs, which are basically just blue jadiz. just having 1 power station to hack would do wonders.
    for people who dislike sabotage, i highly recommend you start 'double hacking' and doing both stations at once of you have a team. Speeds up the mission massively and it's very fun
    also you can use the drop pod clip on salvage to basically skip the pod powering up bit

    The only redeeming thing about industrial sabotage is the sound the caretaker makes when it's hurt.
    Honestly if they got rid of the tiny flying enemies that fly into you, it would be a lot better, but the constant knockback and need to sprint around just to get some chip damage when fighting the caretaker makes it more infuriating than fun.

    I hate sabotage, always end up running around reviving everyone. Its the only mission I refuse to play above haz 3. Any mission with a mine head dropping down is s tier and escort is a, the rest are c or d. Salvage would be OK if you didnt have to stand in that little area

    I hate the drilldozer mission because it has the most rng in the game by far. Sometimes you can get screwed over by a detonator spawning and getting on top of the drilldozer or the drilldozer can run straight into a dangerous side mission that you then have to deal with. I find myself losing this mission more than any other because of the rng involved. Which makes it less skill and more luck, which I do not like.
    The point extraction missions on the other hand are almost all skill. I love optimizing my movements and throwing the aquarqs to my fellow teammates.
    In the video you say all of the classes have their place on almost all of the missions, but the aquarqs missions are so easy if everyone is a scout, you can just jump around and get all of the crystals straight off the bat, and the Refining missions super easy if you have a team full of drillers who can just drill to every refinery.

    S: Elimination

    D: Escort (i love doretta, but the mission gets so repetitive and boring)

    God damn, I can't stand Point Extraction. Aquarqs are always in these unreachable places and by the time you get there the waves are coming non stop. Hauling them back to the minehead is a slog too.
    Other than that On-Site refining is my favorite, followed closely by Industrial Sabotage. My friend hates IS, and I really don't get why. The preparation phase is so chill and fun, and the boss is one of the best out there.

  • @skinscalp222

    On Site Refining used to be my S tier but now it's more like B tier. It could be S tier again if they just consolidate the building pipelines phase. So you just instantly build a tangible pipe when you place a node instead of having to manually build node to node. My current A tiers (don't really have any S tier at the moment) are Point Extraction and Salvage Operation. I like PE because it feels different to the other mission types, it's the game controlling the pace instead of you doing it and I feel that is refreshing. Salvage Operation is also exciting fighting in those tiny areas at the end I know lots of people hate it but I find it to be chaotic fun. Egg hunt and Elimination are also on B tier. Egg Hunt is basically the chill version of PE and Elimination is okay dragged down by Hiveguard who can feel tedious to fight. Both Mining Expedition and Escort are C tier, don't hate them but also don't like them all that much. Sabotage is D tier because I don't like fighting Rival techs but I do enjoy fighting them as a Driler with flamethrower and using the C4 to fasten the boss fight.

    There aren’t any missions I consistently dislike. Sometimes I get tired of fighting the dreadnoughts and switch to them solo. Refining is fun so long you have a competent driller.
    Used to hate sabotage but then learned I can just blow up the shields from the top so that made it much easier. I dig tunnels on the sides with small gaps to shoot the weakspots and avoid the arms entirely. Requires more prep time though.

    I would like industrial sabatoge if the boss wasn't such a pain with all the things it sends out that are all tanky that you have to shoot. On haz 5 which is all I play it's the only mission that makes me worried I will lose. Plus the cave around the boss isn't usually the best

      @lorenzopinezi consider yourself lucky, I guess. Unless you are aiming for the achievement of killing 20 of them. They are definitely fun to kill and even use to some extent, but they almost always show up at the WORST times possible
      Edit: Just a little tip if you weren't already aware of it. There's a limit to the number of "disruptive" enemies a mission can have. Examples of disruptive enemies would be acid spitters, menaces, stalkers, grabbers, bulks, etc. Basically, most of the stuff that are high priority targets. Praes, opressors and I'm pretty sure septic spreaders and stingtails are not a part of this. The last 2 are part of another specific group of enemies. Grabbers as well, to some extent. If you see one bulk detonator, very likely a 2nd one is not too far behind.
