"I'm running out of heroes, man. Guys like you are in short supply." "Yea, guys like you too." The best dialogue in the film. Hero to hero, man to man.
This scene hits me just as hard every time. One of the few scenes to ever give me goosebumps. I think the music is just as important to this scene as the acting and directing.
Michael Mann at his best. The song slowly creeping in and getting louder and louder as Lou struggles to get a signal out in the water was pure cinematic art.
@@angc1456 Crazy because initially Crowe would sound like a miscast because of him being too young so I was thinking De Niro could be Wigand, but Crowe nailed it.
I had watched The Insider some time ago and even though I remembered the storyline completely I decided to rewatch it. Damn, when the scene and this song came on I got overwhelmed with emotions, what a masterpiece of a movie. The cast, the directing, the music freaking everything is so perfect, I don't think I've experienced this in another movie ever. This song exposes you to the depths of life and consumes you into some self-reflecting void, for good or for bad. Absolutely stunning
First came across this great film & soundtrack during some difficult times for several people in 2004-5. This song will always live on - certainly for the rest of my life. Thumbs up & thanks for uploading.
"You fought for me? You manipulated me! Into where I am now - staring at the Brown & Williamson building, it's all dark except for the tenth floor. That's the legal department, that's where they fuck with my life!"
Alex Man's one of my favorite directors of all time. That said, even I think Blackhat was a fairly mediocre movie. Mann's a great director, but I don't think he's made anything that really stood out since Public Enemies and nothing that was a straight out masterpiece since Collateral (although Miami Vice did have its moments).
The Insider - One of my favorite movie and certainly the best as far as background music score goes. Russel Crow is amazing.... I can’t think of anyone else who could have played role of Dr. Wigand as good as him.
Michael Mann rankings: 1. Heat 2. The Insider 3. The Last of the Mohicans 4. Manhunter (best Hannibal adaptation) 5. Thief 6. Collateral 7. Public Enemies 8. Ali 9. Miami Vice 10. The Keep
I was immediately drawn to this song and scene years ago.. I think its because we get it. We have all been there. This song allows us to "let go" for 4 minutes
This is the kind of movie you would wanna watch by yourself in the dark in a comfortable chair with a box fan running around 2 A.M. n the morning drunk or high off your ass
After looking a long time for the lyrics I found out that.......There are no lyrics to this song. Lisa Gerrard has a made up language she uses sometimes. I am serious.....look her up.
Dead Can Dance is a legendary band. New stuff is decent, but their material from the 80s and early 90s is classic, like soundtracks to movies that never existed (though some of their songs have been used later in movies). Lisa's solo and collaborative albums are pretty good too. She did a album called 'Duality' with Pieter Bourke right before they worked together on this soundtrack and some of the songs are on both.
Do you see it? Can you feel and almost taste it? The acting, the cinematography, the music; This...is film.
This is what film-speak would call "Real, True, Art."
This is cinema.
Its amazing what a ..... phone call can do.
This scene is a whole movie by itself...
@@terrencebunce1964 True dat
"I'm running out of heroes, man. Guys like you are in short supply."

The best dialogue in the film.
Hero to hero, man to man.
Pina Colada tell em to get on the...FUCKIN PHONE!!
Mann to Mann
The most hypnotic song I have ever heard, fantastic.
im getting high on this song
Try " Feel" by The Verve
I remember when i first heard this song it was stuck in my head for weeks. Still gets me Every time. Haunting to the heart and soul...perfect...
Me too it got stuck in my head i listen it in the afternoon. Almost everyday
This scene hits me just as hard every time. One of the few scenes to ever give me goosebumps. I think the music is just as important to this scene as the acting and directing.
+1
You said it all 👍

Michael Mann at his best. The song slowly creeping in and getting louder and louder as Lou struggles to get a signal out in the water was pure cinematic art.
M.Mann is a movie masterpiece maker....Just 2 examples....Heat and this one....
Good spot, I think Mann might have used the walking into the water scene as a metaphor for drowning! Wygand is slowly drowning under the pressure?
One of my all time favorite movies.
Pacino and Crowe were a very underrated pair, love to see them pair up again!
Me 2
@@angc1456 Crazy because initially Crowe would sound like a miscast because of him being too young so I was thinking De Niro could be Wigand, but Crowe nailed it.
@@DMalltheway i agree with you :)
Now this was a movie. Flawless in every way. This scene gives me goosebumps every time
Perfect song to listen to when your life is spinning out of control!
Damn right......
And it is at the moment
The epitome of the term "head trip".
Yea it is…
Love
All tracks in the movie are very good but this one is special to me. Thanks.
Very special to me :(
My favorite scene from this brilliant film. Very cathartic.
isn't it amazing how many emotions or thoughts can be expressed by a musical score? this is just one example of which there are many more
Yes ....
Best movie ever. This is such an atmospheric movie I love it.
This scene reminds me how my son is important in my life no matter how struggling sometimes I'm....
Because I came across this, made me watch the masterpiece again yesterday.
MASTERPIECE. SIMPLY A MASTERPIECE
The soundtrack for this movie is soooo underrated. It’s so different from your typical legal thriller soundtracks.
I had watched The Insider some time ago and even though I remembered the storyline completely I decided to rewatch it. Best scene in the film.
Brilliant film, so many themes and threads running throughout it.
Magnificent scene , magnificent music
One of my favourite film, and soundtrack, and actors...
First came across this great film & soundtrack during some difficult times for several people in 2004-5. This song will always live on - certainly for the rest of my life. Thumbs up & thanks for uploading.
Words cannot describe the beauty of this Art...
I love all the Michael Mann movies and how he can play with music in all the scenes he does...one of the best directors...Bravo!
"You fought for me? You manipulated me! Into where I am now - staring at the Brown & Williamson building, it's all dark except for the tenth floor. That's the legal department, that's where they fuck with my life!"
Really miss movies like this!
Great film & Great soundtrack.
This song is a rarity. It really makes you just pause and reflect about your past, present, and future.
Amazing and haunting at the same time.
MASTERPIECE The music with movie is beyond what they make now Blackhat another Michael Mann masterpiece
Michael Mann knows how to make movies
I though so too but i saw a movie blackhat, and I change my mind :(
Watch it again and learn to appreciate the Mann's film.
yeah .. I agree..that sucked and was pathetic

Yep...He sure does .....Remember "Heat"?
An Amazing Film By A Great Director... A Wonderfull Song By A Unique Artist...
The Insider - One of my favorite movie and certainly the best as far as background music score goes. Russel Crow is amazing.... I can’t think of anyone else who could have played role of Dr. Wigand as good as him.
Sanjay Rastogi same as Al Pacino as Lowell Bergman
this is one of my favorite parts in the movie.
+Milaka Strand ''get on the phone....get on the FUCKING phone!"
mee too
Me too..
why is this masterpiece not in spotify
well , it´s here!
RUclips music is superior to spotify!
Because Spotify it’s for losers who never appreciate music. You own nothing. I have this on disc since 15 years now.
Ugggh it was for years, but left a while back. I miss it regularly
Yeah same, I search for it every now and then but never back unfortunately
This song is fantastic.
Fantastic song.
The best music, the best scene!
Cinematography + Music = epic storytelling. Who needs words?

Provides a perfect melacony when events are not in your control. All you have then are good memories. Awesome film.
I don't need drugs to fly and dream with this song. This song alone IS a drug
oh dear christ at this point i was just praying that he wouldn't kill himself. phenomenal film.

Listened to this over and over when I was in a near psychotic depression; courtesy of "spiritual " people.
I'm in a bad place .... That's why I'm here
Great music and probs some of the best acting Crowe has done

This film is beyond good. It's a 100% score on any level.
It's simply Michael Mann's best work!

Thief, Manhunter, Last of the Mohicans, Heat, The Insider, Ali, Collateral, Public Enemies. Mann is legend of cinema.
The definition of sensational.
I feel like my life is spinning out of control.....
- Tell him in these words: 'Get on the fuckin' phone'
- I... I can't say that...
- ...TELL HIM TO GET ON THE FUCKIN' PHONE!!
It's a long movie, but it is very underated.
feels like there's no time and space...just, going on...
Best video and music ever!

Spinning into darkness is the perfect escape because no one will ever dare to follow.
You guys can also listen to it while being sober, you know. :D
This scene is dying to be viewed with a couple of cocktails in your system. Of course, it is great sober as well.
"Tell him to GET ON THE FUCKIN' PHONE!!!"
Michael Mann at his Best!
Film fantastico. Capolavoro di Michael Mann. Sottovalutatissimo, da recuperare.
Vero.....Grandissimo regista.......suo anche "Heat" e la serie "Miami vice"
very good song...
Musica straordianAria per un film eccellente!!!
