    Hi. I just got this welder today.
    My neighbor bought this unit a year or so ago and it sat on his garage table. I did some yard work and helped him clean his garage today and part of the pay he gave me was the welder new in the box still.

      Nice! Despite the lower cost, we have been very happy with this welder. A few months after this video we upgraded to shielding gas rather than flux core wire and it welds even before. Good luck with your projects!

      All4HimRacingVideos Thanks! What brand of consumables does it take? Like Miller or Hobart .030 tips? Diffusers and cups?

      @@chloehennessey6813 honestly it is somewhat up to personal preference. I like to run 0.035" Hobart wire around the shop. Welds 1/4 steel to thin stock with no issue. Only issue I've had is the ground clamp coming loose at times but usually just use error

    Have had mine for over 5yrs, litteraly have dug it out of snow bank, flipped switch and layed beads. Upstate NY we have 50° one min and foot of snow the next. Just had to replace one of the toggle switches and I have ran multiple 10# spools.

      All4HimRacingVideos I’m using the flux core .035 Lincoln wire. The HR wire was garbage. Haven’t tried using shielding gas yet. I want to though.

      Is the duty cycle really that bad? It claims 20% at 110 amps but it's a 170amp 😓

    I've had the same welder for about six months. I use it in the fab shop daily, so I probably have around three years worth of work with it. (lol) Second day I had it, kid in the shop dropped it from the table about three feet. Bent the door a bit. Straightened out out with a pair of pliers. Kept right on welding. Mine has outlasted two different forney welders and costs less than half the price of the cheapest forney. Yes. I definitely recommend this machine for home/hobby work. If it's will hold up in my shop, it will easily stand up to home/hobby use.

    Nice I like to get this to run off my 6000watts generator to do flux core fence and railing repairs,I got coming up will it hold 10lb wire spools?I know this is a old video but how did this welder work out for you,I also have the new harbor freight titanium 125 inverter flux core welder and that machine is a very powerful smooth welder and very portable 👩‍🏭

    Bought mine as a return at hafe price .can't have to many welders .much better than the 125 I sold and can't beat the price for home hobbyists. Sure there better welders out there but it's cheap.

      This welder will only work with 240V. If you only have 120V at a plug you need to get a welder that runs off 120V

    sounds like the wire feed wheels are slipping. the cutting in and out of the arc can be caused by that. Loosen the spool until it starts to overrun "back lash" and then tighten a little. Upgrading to a nicer 10 foot mig gun seems to be a popular upgrade to get away from the terrible switch in the trigger and give you a little longer range. I am pleased with mine so far. Hard to beat for under $200

  • @william38022
    @william38022 5 лет назад

    I don’t remember seeing you discuss the roller for the wire in the feed mechanism do you have to flip that roller overs since you said you were going to run 35 wire and it was set up for 30 or did you decide to run the 30 do you have to actually replace the roller with a different roller or would you just flip the roller over to switch the diameter of wire or something like that???

    • @All4HimRacingVideos

      You'll have to check your manual. I ended up running 30 with gas shortly after this heat

      One option is you can change the plug end on one of the welders so they both have the same plug. We have done this a number of times. Just need to make sure plug is properly rated

    • @william38022
      @william38022 5 лет назад

      C Trey Just buy a 6000 W generator and look on Home Depot for a generator welder cord and you can plug-in that cord to your 230/240 volt twist lock plug on your generator and run it on your welder

    one question: you say , and I quote "it only requires adding shielding gas with other necessary components for full MIG welding applications". Can you cover that part? what kind of gas? how do you add it?

    • @All4HimRacingVideos
      @All4HimRacingVideos  6 лет назад +1

      Some good information found here: www.bernardwelds.com/mig-welding-shielding-gas-basics-p152080#.Wqa9yWrwapo . Most MIG welders will use a mixture of between 75 - 95 percent Argon and 5 - 25 percent CO2 for use of "shielding", which prevent exposure of the molten weld pool to oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen contained in the air. If you have gas, then a solid MIG wire can be used. If you do not have gas, then you need a "flux core" wire, which has a coating that when burned, essentially creates a shield around the weld point. These welders have a chamber in line from unit to the welding gun that allows gas to flow to the tip when the trigger is pulled. To use gas, you need to purchase / rent a tank with gas stated above, attached a pressure gauge to top, and run line to the gas inlet on this welder. Lots of good info online if you search more on this. Hope this helps.

    Nice video and very helpful . I'm looking at buying a welding machine since I got a gift card from my father and was torn between an stick welder or a wire feed . One question I have is don't you have to have a shorter cable to maintain voltage and less resistance ? I'm always hearing welders saying that you should have a 10 guage wire extension cord no more than 22 feet long .Just curious about what your thoughts on the matter are .
    Thanks for the upload .

    • @All4HimRacingVideos
      @All4HimRacingVideos  6 лет назад

      I made my own extension cord from a pre-cut roll of 10 gauge and 21 (or 22) foot long, staying in line with a guideline I had also heard from a professional welder. Connectors cost about same as wire. Further update, I upgraded from the flux-core to shielding gas and it welds very nicely. For being such an economic option, it really performs quite well for a hobbyist.
