In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a 'bed of nails' stool using epoxy resin, nails, plywood, mahogany and English oak. I feel this video falls into the ASMR and entertainment categories.

Great book for a beginner . ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.
UV radiation can damage the fibres in the wood causing discolouration, cracking and warpage. Why do you ask?
At first I thought, “this is going to be dangerous”. A new meaning to “Sitting on pins and needles”. I love it. What a unique piece. Your mind works in mysterious ways Jack.
I like how it looks but that thing is dangerous. It's very top heavy with a small footing area. If it fell on your foot or on a child, bones would be broken or floor tiles would be cracked.

Thanks S. I think they could make nice bar stools. Maybe do a set with dangerous things cast in resin. Barbed wire, piranhas, scorpions etc 🤣

@@JackMackWoodturning in Texas and most parts of the South Western USA they sell scorpions in lollipops if you want a preview of what scorpions in resin might look like.

That's a neat design bar stool that opens a world of possibilities. I can see it now, instead of nails use marbles, leaves, CD,s, beer cans, ect ect, you name it, you think of it and this can be done... really cool idea you got.
You could use a lot of different stuff and it would look better than it does with nails.
I didn't think I would ever like sitting on a bunch of nails, but looks like you changed my mind

This one was interesting Jack, I had no idea how you would pull this off. But it is an amazing bit of work you have there. I also like the resin being clear that makes the piece that much better great work brother
I like Jack I love it that he do more than bowls he do a lot of different things and I was hooked on the first video that I saw him and he didn't do bowls he the pretty things that he did I just love watching him I don't have to see and hear a whole lot of talking he gets right to his job and does it and oh my God I love everything he built he is fascinating and I I love it I love it I do thank you very much Mr Jack I appreciate it continue your good work

I held my breath the entire time you were turning the resin on the nail side, omg what precision to get that close to the point without hitting one. Another absolutely fantastic JM piece!
I thought it was going to be a gnarly grinder wheel, but I wasn't entirely disappointed!
I like how you show when you fail, its nice to see things get messed up but watch someone persevere.
Everything he does is mesmerizing. Only Jack can shake a fistful of nails at the camera and leave me wanting more.

when you made the first one , I said that I would like it just like that and then you threw it on the floor and you started over and I just couldn't figure out what you were going to do next . You made a different one and again , I didn't know what you were going to make ! Especially when you were making the legs and the cross - bars , I really didn't know what you were doing with those things ! When you started to put it together , THEN I KNEW WHAT YOU WERE DOING AND I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT IT BECAUSE YOU ACTUALLY MADE WHAT I HOPED THAT YOU WOULD MAKE !!!!! AND - IT TURNED OUT TERRIFIC !!!!! THANK YOU FOR DOING SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB WITH YOUR CRAFT !!!!!!!!!!

Stunning i really love the concept of the nails,maybe rusty nails might of given it a bit more of a look. I think that using other bits of corroded metal look would give it a good look

You praise the author for putting you on nails, at a time when there is nothing useful, profitable, convenient, beautiful, smart, etc. in it. Another totally original creation from Jack Mac. It was good to see you making legs and stretchers the traditional way, nice, and the seat is really funky, a real talking point. A bit slippy though I suspect? Nice job Jack. Best regards. 🙃
