Congratulations on the addition of the Queen of Lionel's postwar fleet to your collection. The Berkshire has always been a personal favorite of mine as well. Great video, full of amazing information, thank you!

As a proud owner of a 1948 726 with the Baldwin Disc Drivers, I can safely say it's the best-running postwar model I've ever encountered, bar none. Even my 736, for all it's got, can't outperform its predecessor. She's a beauty, and worth every penny of what people ask for her.

Very nice Job Cole! I happen to be a big fan of #726 & #736 Berkshire. I have a few of them in my collection. Awesome video! 👍

I plan on running that set on the new layout. It’s really gonna look nice with the green grass! 👍

Awesome video talking about a more full history of Lionel’s Berks. Learned more about the MPC era ones that I haven’t seen before.

Great video! My grandpa had a 726 and it was always the smoothest running and quietest engine. It was handed down to my uncle, along with the 2343 Santa Fe. Both are in my Mt. Rushmore of Postwar engines. I got the 2056 and 2025 steamers, which both run great, especially the 2056. I love the Baldwin drivers on the 2025 and the mechanical sounds the drivetrain makes.
My top 4 postwar locos would have to be the 773, 726, 2343, and of course the 746.

@@mootsym wow Great story! To be honest the 2056 is next on my list, I already got the Berkshire and the Santa Fe f3, I don’t think I’ll be able to find a 746 for a decent price though😂

@@colestrains1 no kidding lol. The 2046 is the same as the 2056 but with magnetraction, so idk if you’d wana look there. May be more money idk. Magnetraction doesn’t really matter that much to me.. I’m not running these crazy fast around tight curves and im not convinced it actually increases pulling power.. and the 2056 and 2025 do just fine pulling decent trains. Idk I’m no expert.. as I’ve never had an engine with it lol

@@mootsym it does increase power but not by much and it doesn’t show nearly as good as it would on tubular steel track. Tbh I’d get either one pops up first for the best price
