That water fall is class mate. U go to so class places mate. Love the new boots pal. It’s all about comfort when ya doin the walking your doin.
Cheers matey. Yea they seem like a good boot. I think once IV got them broke in I think they will be ideal for winter and wet camps
@ Luke Huxley. - Worst boots? I've had a pair for years and they're extremly comfortable. They do take a lot of breaking in and precise lacing and good socks like Merino wool are crucial. Also try a specialist footbed like Sof Sole or Sorbothane. If you're prepared to do all that, there's no better boot and they are certainly very waterproof, but you need to wax the leather to prevent condensation.
Did they beeak in alright? Ive got some but having trouble with them at the heals shame as there tidy boots, dont know how long to give it to break them in?
Yea mine broke in really quick. It depends on the shape of your feet as everyone is different. Mine are still going strong but only use them in the colder months
I've just bought my second pair of Scarpa Rangers, they are my favourite boot so far, really sturdy and waterproof. I had two pairs of Salomon Quest 4D or whatever they're called before, very comfy and lighter, good ankle support, I really liked them but not so hard wearing or bulletproof waterproof like the Scarpas.
Yea I have used them on a few hikes and are really good.
I actually think they look good mate. I bought some Merrell boots last Winter, with a sole that's supposed to grip on ice. Sure enough, no more ice that Winter! 😂 Will have to test them this year! All the best.
Yea I only did a few miles in them but seem to be good solid boots. The grip is good on them so I think they will be great for winter. I will give another review after some good miles. Thanks for watching matey atb
Same...i love the look of all leather boots with the round front
Scarpa make great boots 👍
Yea the quality is really great
Hi bud, could you give any recommendations for good but affordable sleeping bags? I don't go camping much and more of a fair weather camper.
Hi mate. I used in the fair weather a ice flame down quilt. Really warm and plenty of movement. My sleeping bag is the Alpkit skyhigh 700. Not the cheapest but warmth and quality is brilliant will last for years. If your planning on just using the one all year you should keep and eye out for the 4 season and could just have it open in warmer months to save money on multiple bags. Check out oex or vango down bags . Might be good for starting out. Hope it helps and thanks for watching
@@jamesoutandaboutn.i227 Thanks very much bud. Millets has a big sale on atm and looking at getting proper gear together.
Great vid. I remember doing tht Hill few years bck wit a pram, was tough wit it. Did you know there's an old railway track up the mournes, on chimmey Rock. Seen a pic on Facebook today. Wud make a great vid. You find it exactly, cus I wanna go via following ur vid LOL. Thts great ur getting things to try n rate them, you cud be onto sumthing... Stay safe..
Thanks mate. Must of been some going with the pram. Yea Iv seen images of the tracks and it looks like it would be a good area to explore. I have been thinking about doing reviews for a while so I'm looking forward to making that video. I'm doing a camp next weekend so I can give it a good test. Thanks for watching Andrew atb james
Thanks for the video. Did the boots get worn in? Where u from in the toon BTW...? Great to see a geordie in Belfast
Cheers matey. Yea the boots are really comfortable.great for wet winter camps. I'm from a town called cramlington just outside Newcastle. Yea it's great in northern Ireland loads of places to explore.
I found these boots very heavy. Also they did my feet in trying to break them in.Pity, they're very well made.
Yea they are abit heavy but good for short winter camps. Hopefully they will break in. Thanks for watching mate atb james
great views from the top of there! Nice video 😈
Cheers matey
How's the boots holding up 11months on mate? Would they be good for the mournes in winter?
Hi mate. Yea I have just got them out again for the winter season. Really warm boots. The leather started to fade quickly but I use a wax on them and they look fine. Il probably be doing a video about them again. Nice speaking to you mate
Nice boots James, health to enjoy!
Try putting a few layers of beeswax to protect and further waterproof the leather (Go Outdoors sells it for £3)
Also after before tying the laces go to the top hooks and then back down to the second last hooks and tie off there, that should prevent the laces loosening or try the "surgeons knot".
Cheers for the advice matey. Yea I think I will get that bees wax. I try doing the laces like that. Thanks for watching mate atb james
Scarpa ranger gtx but model no2?
I think they are model 2 but not a 100% sure mate
Where's the follow up video that you promised?
Thanks for reminding me . Il get onto it lol
Hows these boots now? Any good
Aye mate really comfy great for cold weather. Still prefer my summer boots for longer walks. The Salomon gtx boots
You were canny high up at the end. Wouldn’t get me near that edge pal.
Haha. It's a good walk and it's five minutes away from my house. Wanted to get the drone up but it was too windy
These are the worst boots i have ever had. So hard to break in and are not waterproof. Disappointed as these seem really well made
