Thanks for the reminders update. One thing is missing from the app. I don’t see reminders that are not checked off as completes advancing to the next day. If they don’t then it is no different than a calendar entry. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
The issue l'm having is not being able to edit an appointment in the calendar app after enabling reminders. I have to delete the reminder to edit the calendar. For example say I want to add an address to the appointment in the Calendar app there's no way of editing without first deleting the reminder. Because location in the Reminders app is a convoluted mess. It's a rather crude way that I find bewildering.
I am finding if I have reminders showing in the calendar they do not show the overdue ones only the ones on current days if I go to Reminders, it shows the overdue one correctly but in the calendar, it shows them on the original due date. Any thoughts?
Calendar has been a complete and well formed app for over a decade. Events, appts could be entered into a busy, complex schedule as into a paper calendar, with precise alarms fit into that busy schedule. In a single stroke, IOS 18 destroyed that utility of precise alarms, sophisticated repetitions. Now, precious time and effort must be invested in learning an alternative app, if it is even there, or seeking out a third party substitute. What a huge waste. Did these geniuses ever hear of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"
Helpful video…Thx! I noticed you had various colors listed on a calendar event. Is there a way to personalize the colors to specific events without creating separate calendars? For example, if I want all birthdays to be yellow, doctor appointments red, etc? This is something google cal and android phones have been able to do for a while. Hoping apple has those capabilities with this new update?? Thanks!,
@@nrbnrm I feel the same way. I like to use custom event colors so that I can have an idea of what’s going on in stacked view. If my kids have school events going on, I like to assign a color to each kid.
OMG! Thank you for showing how to turn off the reminder feature in Calendar. Truly did not like it as I have a lot of pill reminders and did not need to see them on my calendar.
Really helpful Dan thank you
This video was very helpful; I especially I seeing the demo on the iPhone view.
Great, thanks!
You're welcome!
Ugh, they need to make certain reminder optional to be shown.
Thanks now I know how to do it. What's the difference between adding it in reminders vs just adding it to the calendar like an appointment?

@@ralphmilleriii9957 exactly! I had a “palm pilot” from the 90’s that I assigned colors to events! So wish Apple would make this an update!
