Built the replica had no issues whatsoever really sturdy. Only thing that was a niggle was the solar panels on the telescope. I think with the replicas u gotta wait a while till the prefect it then order. We'll worth it
I've built the official Lego version and it feels (to me anyway) very sturdy. The black bits on the cargo bay doors was their attempt to replicate the black pieces on the real shuttle. I replaced mine with white ones and the tail is also modified on mine to look like the actual tail on it minus the split rudder setup. The undercarriage also works correctly but the stickers on the bay doors were also a bit difficult to apply
Thanks for your reply. I'm sure the official Lego version is slightly better quality but the price I paid for this one was so low and it looks brilliant on display
The Hubble solar panels can be fitted quite easily. The only thing you have to do is to lengthen the support structure, for that what you have to do is not to put the long pieces in their holes so much, but to put them just a little bit, so the distance from one end to the other is longer and the solar panels are straight. Sorry for my English, I don't know if I explained myself well enough
The silver stickers were a nightmare, I ended up removing the surrounding print, which made it easier to peel the actual stickers off. I ripped out of mine, pretty annoying
I just got the lego one and noticed the radius of the bay doors and cockpit are way off in the fakelego version. In the lego one it is a smooth continues line between the cockpit and bay doors. Also it has less gaps overall. The front wheels do look different too and appears to be steering in the fakelego version so that might be a point for them. The solar panels on the original fit perfectly straight over here. If fakelego wanted to score some points, they should have made the bay door panels chrome on the inside from the factory. I was aware of those stickers in the lego version so I took my time with those before building the set. Used tweezers and meassured the exact distances from the borders to have them all allign straight. Not my favourite thing to do but it paid off.
Great build. I have the Lego version of this. The cockpit window are practically the same, maybe slightly better defined on the Lego version. As for the solar panels, they were exactly the same on the official build. As someone else said, when you alter the supprt structure that it sits in, they fit much better. Looks a GREAT 'copy' to me.
Thanks for your reply. I'm surprised the stickers aren't better quality from Lego, I found them awful to fit. Overall I'm really pleased with it though.
I finished my clone a couple of weeks ago and I have seen 3d printable plans in the same scale as the shuttle for the Solid Rocket Boosters and the external fuel tank which then makes then whole think look fantastic.
Very helpful and complete review. I also think to buy this set. These replicas become better and better and i think its only a matter of time when lego will lose its status as the pinnacle of quality, because other companies will have same quality
There were some paper ones and metallic ones for some reason , but they didn't fit properly, I actually thought I'd done something wrong but I just think the size was wrong
I have the Lego Version and i must say that to fake version isn`t bad seeing it only cost £40. I have changed the black pieces on the cargo doors to white also and with a moc i found have built the SRB & external Tanks and mounted it on a Launch Platform. All in All not a bad model.
It's interesting to me that they copied the whole design but not the actual instructions. I suppose copying and selling the instructions would be illegal but somehow the design itself is not? Or am I wrong
It is all a hundred percent illegal, but in China the producers of fake LEGO just buy the judge/police so no worries. - And we in the West happily do business with the bastards...

Thanks for your reply, I did try the things you said but I still found it really poor

Yeah it's a shame, because it's little details that would make it even better. I'd rather pay a few pounds more and things like that be right
I would love to see your project on some of technic crane, lifting bricks, that would be awesome. Thanks for the video btw.
That's something I may look to do in the future for sure

Where is the link man, I need to have a crack at that!
If you have the official Lego number for this build you can order spare blocks 😊😊😊😂😂😂

Where do you buy? Send the link, friend!
I'm almost done with mine and had the same issues. With mine the solar panels weren't metallic. I might order a replacement

The instructions are 99% the same but a few pieces are different which I found very strange too
