I like watching this old rain video. I remember that year. You were rained out. Still I enjoy the video. The rain makes for a nice cinematic look. I miss rain, but fear the rain, then Santa Anna winds in October. It's a fierce time to build a haunt, and it doesn't hit until the last week of October. Suddenly disaster. 8 yrs of haunting so far, and in the end. It's never stopped me. At the last second, it clears up. Luck maybe.
Oh man, that upsetting, I guess there's always next year. Personally I would still put the pumpkins out and give candy and ease the neighborhood into your Halloween display before you go all in next year. ;)
I can totally sympathize. You guys do not suck. I live in the midwest. The weather is entirely unpredictable. Might be 70s and sunny... might be 50s and rain... might be 32 and snowing... you just never know. In 2019, I had a pretty decent set up planned, but we had a nasty storm with 50mph winds... last minute, I put up my car port, covered the sides with plastic and just did the best I could with 3 hours notice.
I have to tell you guys I was impressed that you were even going to do something with the time frame you had, never mind the huge undertaking you decided to do, A+++ for a valiant effort! I would never drop you guys no matter what, I've learned so much from you and enjoy all your videos! Happy Halloween!
New subscriber and love your videos! I'm going to try to do my own haunt in 2017, we usually get around 600 trick or treaters but I'm nervous no one will come. Love from Michigan!
When you aim so high, you are eventually going to fall a little short. You two are very encouraging, and entertaining, so you now have 2 new subscribers here in Oklahoma. Keep up the great work, and Christmas is going to be awesome this year!
Thst really sucks, but everything happens for a reason! We are rained out tonight in Connecticut as well, but we were able to have a huge party last night before the rain came. My pillars and speakers are full of water right now, good thing it was all free stuff! Take s break, enjoy the holiday, and Keep posting your progress vids when you can! I have learned a ton from them in the past few months!
Instead of Santa's Village, you could do a Satan's Village. The only change is the placement of the letter N. The similarities between the two is incredible.
I went on a hike this afternoon and when it started pouring rain, I thought about you guys and hoped your day was drier than mine, but I guess not. At least you have some place to display those awesome mutant pumpkins, and you get to have fun visiting other haunts....and lots of candy....YUM Hot Tamales!!! Happy Halloween!!!!
Yeah, do a Christmas display! I know the feeling, the rain kind of put the kabosh on our Halloween a bit too. I love you guys' attitude. And you got to visit other peoples haunts!
OMG are you kidding you deserve an A++++++++++++++++. You have worked harder than anyone on just what you completed. I am sure you are more disappointed than anyone, you were so close to finishing. You deserve all that chocolate lol. Your definitely still the best out there and we all love ya both. Now get some rest you both deserve it and Happy Halloween.
I missed this video and I was so confused why your stuff was at other people's haunts! It's so cool you didn't just give up, but now I'm looking forward towards Christmas!
aw man that sucks I love rain just not when it gets in the way lol but the cottage looks amazing and so do the pumpkins and I am so ready for a Hollywood haunter holiday
It seems the west coast got rained out this year. My neck of the woods got lucky. We had some rain for a few hours but it's dry and now and should be until after trick-or-treat. No excuses for next year! Happy Halloween!
Kevin Finkle's idea is a good one. Just set up the witches cottage for Christmas but keep it Halloween. In your face Christmas! I think it would be weird, but funny as hell
You call that rain. It's been raining all month up here in Oregon . Haven't been able to touch up storm damage but at night I think it'll be fine.Looking forward to seeing your finished cottage for that other holiday it's looking fantastic so far.
Raining like crazy here too. Hopefully things will dry out for TOTing. Our haunt is in our garage. I finished today! Can't wait to see your holiday display! Krampus? 😉
All the videos have been great! All the things you've made look awesome regardless. Major bummer on not getting to finish so close to Halloween. I feel you though, it's been a hectic October, had to rush to finish my walk through as well. Stoked to see what you guys turn it into for Christmas and to see what you do next Halloween!!!
All that hard work, I love following you two ! ! ! Hey I see a gingerbread house for Christmas........ pumpkins can be big gumdrops or ornaments..... Oh Oh Oh maybe a little Christmas Jack in the nightmare before Christmas......and tie the two together
I hope you two do do some thing for Christmas. I'm not into Halloween at all really other than handing out a ton of candy for the kids, but we really get in to and enjoy decorating for Christmas I just enjoy watching your videos for the how to ideas you guys show, and because you're both good fun people. Keep up the great work.
I am so sorry that your plans were drowned out! Your build gave me some great inspiration for our haunt next year, which will be witches and ghosts with bats, cats, rats and spiders (we came up with this before we saw your stuff for this year). You both inspire me every year. keep it up and have fun!
Awww....I feel bad for you guys since you were working so hard, but I know you will make it work for Christmas too. At least you get to see those amazing pumpkins displayed! I can't even think about next year yet. I am still working on this years haunt. I have to go out tonight and turn a baby crib into a scare spot for an actor in our nursery. And get more lights installed in the witch area. And some more things done in the butcher room. And and and.....always so much to do. We are not going to know what to do after tomorrow!
Bless your hearts guys!!! I know you guys never, ever quit. Huge 🤗 🤗 🤗 to you and much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!! I love Hot Tamales too! In high school a guy who had his locker next to mine always had Hot Tamales and if I wanted some, I would have to sing "I want a Hot Tamale." The 100 Grand bars used to be called a $100,000.00 bar made by Nestle and were so yummy!!! Still can't wait to see the completion of the cottage (Gingerbread House?) Enjoy the haunts you'll be able to go to and the pumpkins on display and take care of your little pumpkin as the months go by! Just an FYI, when I had my firstborn 27 years ago (when I myself was 20) I had her on Oct 27th and one of my best friends instead of bringing me flowers he brought me a pumpkin! Oh how I love the Halloween season.
Happens to the best of us. I agree with others who said save it for next year, add more detail, have more free time for the new baby. Thank you so much for the videos you do. This is our 16th season as a pro haunt and we were. #7 on the USA Today haunted attraction list this year... I am still learning tips from you two. Happy Halloween
On a positive note, you guys made me feel a little better about not completing my witch house. I had to cut my losses and set it up without a large portion of the roof. Glad you got to go out and have some fun on Halloween. Your witch house will be awesome whenever you decide to move it out front.
It's always a crop shoot with the rain up in the Bay area. This year [2018] 10 days out, they were calling for a week of rain right on top of Halloween. But by minus 5 days, it was going to be clear as a bell. So that meant pulling out the carpets and going all out. I've collected flats and set pieces over the years from tv commercials and trade shows, so "the set" is all built, and I Lego a new set up each year [Foreboding Way on Fb]. Last year I tricked out some of the windows, this year I upgraded the mausoleum and gave the whole set a fresh paint job. I am in awe of you guys scratch building whole villages or doing this Awesome Witch house. I think it was one of the first HH videos I saw. I'd love to work on one of your shows!!
This is so great! I get regular HH videos for longer than usual! Going Christmas is a genius way to make lemonade from lemons. Looking forward to this. Maybe you'll give me some ideas for how to decorate for Xmas too ^_^
I feel your pain guys! we are fighting the rain here too in Oregon trying to decide what i can put out without getting ruined like electronics. We still love you guys no matter what you change your names to. Haunter of Holidays, hmm kinda has a certain ring to it all LOL. Love watching all your vids with you two.
Save it for next Halloween. Christmas has it's things that are good but you can't top Halloween! Had a feeling it wasn't going to happen you guys go big and the build started late so I guess I saw it coming.
Honestly we would have gotten it out and decorated, then added to it this whole week and leave it up for everyone to enjoy after Halloween, oh well, rain happens :)
Awww, it's sad you guys didn't get to finish. I'd love to see it set up in all its Halloween glory, but I could settle for Christmas. Do you think it'll make an appearance for Halloween next year?? Whatever you guys decide I'm sure it'll be great. Have a great Halloween and make sure you moderate your candy intake! Only half the bag today, the other half tomorrow, and maybe some for the trick or treaters.
You know...nature unfortunately is killing us all this year but you guys gave it your all...don't stress...do the cottage next year for Halloween AND use it for Xmas as Santa's cottage! :) My kids would love that. You guys are the best. Happy Halloween and enjoy that candy! ;)
How could you ever think you'd get bad comments, you guys work so hard to make these awesome buildings/haunts, and share it all with us. You're amazing !! It's a shame we wont see it finished, but it's going to look incredible when it's done...even if it's a Christmas cottage lol Happy Halloween to you both !! Don't get a tummy ache from all that chocolate lol :)
You guys have so much courage to even attempt this big of an undertaking this close to the holiday...i thought a cool idea would be if you decorated the cottage house with fake candy...went with the hansel & gretel witch house..but anyway you guys didnt miss anything, your just in the early stages of planning, getting ready for next halloween extra early! now you need to focus on setting up the little haunters nursery...maybe post some vids on that build... Hope you have a Happy Halloween!
Don't feel bad. We have been doing a haunt for 6 years straight. We too had to cancel. The only thing we are going to do is set up our screen and play Halloween movies. Please do continue on the cottage. I would really like to see it finished. It would make a great Santa workshop cottage!
Now you don't have pressure you can put as many details you want into it! I don't mind as you're still going to finish it I look forward to these videos all the time so I'm kind of glad they're not ending yet 😂😂😂
You've had a big, busy year with moving and pregnancy. I think it's okay that you take this Halloween off. The cottage looks great so far though! I look forward to seeing the finished product later on.
Awww mother nature is always messing with us!! Atleast you get to show some of your work off and you guys will totally rock that other holiday ;P Happy Halloween guys!!!!
Kinda a bummer, but you guys did an amazing job. What are Amber an I planning ?? Well we have to change it up after 3 years of cemetery. We are going west next year. We are selling our display this off season to finance next years. Hope we find a buyer quick.
Sorry it's raining and the cottage won't be up in the front yard. I like the idea of a cross between Santa's workshop and Hansel and Gretel's candy house. From across the pond Chris :)
So sad! But I must say I was amazed what a big project you decided to do in such a short time. I would have never thought you would get this much done; (unless you have a crew of twelve you never show on camera...) HAVE A happy Halloween! And please keep those videos coming!
Down by LA, from what I have seen, you are getting the south side of the storm system. Not the worst part, but still a lot of rain. Down in Riverside, we are missing it because the storm is coming from the coast, and heading north east. They have predicted 1 inch of rain/hr down here, for the last 3 days, but we have only received a light sprinkle so far. Tomorrow we go to partly cloudy, and 10% chance of showers. I don't think we will get any at all tomorrow. Hopefully, or I will be washed out as well. The nice think about Halloween facades, is they can be converted to Christmas facades, and left up until the end of January. I'm converting my facades into 2 outdoor 4x8' diorama boxes with large Plexiglas view windows. Kind of like a large dog house on 4' posts, with a view window across the front. I can't wait to tear down the Halloween stuff, and build the dioramas.
Yeah. It was great here. I had my fingers crossed. My and spook alley down the street just lucked out this year. We never got a drop of rain. We had a good 350 people for each site. It's sad to see you cancel your Halloween. I still enjoy the videos. I am about to do a tear down of my facade, and rebuild it into a 4x4x8' x-mas diorama display box with a view window and lights. So I will be re-purposing my wood as well. I made a good 14 Halloween tutorial videos for my project this year. I still have another 8 before I've burned through the footage I have taken. I consider it a practice series for now. But hope to get good at it and just film everything I do, and make videos on art museums, palm springs, cruise ships, travel, history, and my main gig, photography. Maybe down the road it might serve a purpose, but for now it's just fun. We'll have fun making the Hollywood x-mas. I'll stay tuned for what you build next. :>
This is absolutely amazing, I'm so sorry to hear that terrible news that you can't put the Halloween display up, anyways I have an idea, you could use the house for a hansel and gretel themed Christmas yard display at Christmas
We have also had to accept that we won't be completely set up by Halloween. I decided to give up trying before I was forced to give up. Sad day, but we do it for the fun and creativity, not just the day of Halloween.
I feel sorry for you guys! I know how you guys feel! It rained the last 2 Halloweens at our house. This year it looks good for a change so wish us luck!
Just put it all up partially painted as is. Theme, witches abandoned cottage. Sometimes times you just have to role with what you have. If WE stopped because reality did not meet our vision, we would stop it not do many things. Don't hold or measure yourselves to the perfection. You both know you are capable. Just put it all out as best as possible even unfinished and it will still WOW everyone and be better then 99% of other houses. Just roll with it and put it up!!! Much love😱😎
Yeah we weren't so much worried about it being unfinished as we were about the safety of being up on ladders in the rain and Jeana being pregnant and getting sick from being out in the weather. Funny thing is I actually caught the cold LOL!!! Thanks for the support!!! :)
Okay, Halloween is on it's way for 2017! Show us the witches cottage now? I'm a small front yard art haunter on the east coast. I'm making OZ tornados for by the front door and a couple of dust devils. I continue to add shops to my all species Silk Road. Hopefully I'll finish my twisted sisters drider tailor shop for this year's main addition. Then I'll have a total of 4 tent-ish/ open table stalls. If I'm Supra good I'll get "the red mushroom" cafe open too.
Awww... I'm sorry :-( but I can't wait to see your Halloween Christmas! I bought all of these new purple led lights that I am determined to use for Christmas in some capacity. I've always wanted to do a Nightmare Before Christmas tree. Maybe this will be the year!
Hollywood Haunter I would love to do some things Espically with my graveyard but I m out of room in the graveyard itself and storage. I will have to see
All that means is you totally have a massive jump on next year and with a mini Haunter on the way that is a good thing. I think that Hollywood Haunter and Holidays sounds great! If my plans come together I am going to hopefully set up a witchy swamp scene and raise money for our local animal rescues 2017. Here's hoping 2017 to be a better year to all
So will the Witch Cottage become Santa Cottage or Elf Cottage? And could a Bumble happen to be there eating an Elf.... or Santa? Or maybe Krampus... Happy Halloween from Texas y'all!

I have to tell you guys I was impressed that you were even going to do something with the time frame you had, never mind the huge undertaking you decided to do, A+++ for a valiant effort! I would never drop you guys no matter what, I've learned so much from you and enjoy all your videos! Happy Halloween!
Thank you so much!!!
Ideas:
1. Make it into a gingerbread house for christmas.
2. Carve Pumpkins Into HUGE Ornaments.
3. Make a gaint snowman.
Anything!
TheoYT All great ideas!
Thank you so much!
So sorry you got rain as well! Sounds like your party was a hit though :)
Instead of Santa's Village, you could do a Satan's Village. The only change is the placement of the letter N. The similarities between the two is incredible.
Now that would be creepy!
Happy Halloween!!!
Yeah, do a Christmas display! I know the feeling, the rain kind of put the kabosh on our Halloween a bit too. I love you guys' attitude. And you got to visit other peoples haunts!
Yes we did, It's so great that when things change you always have a plan B ;)
OMG are you kidding you deserve an A++++++++++++++++. You have worked harder than anyone on just what you completed. I am sure you are more disappointed than anyone, you were so close to finishing. You deserve all that chocolate lol. Your definitely still the best out there and we all love ya both. Now get some rest you both deserve it and Happy Halloween.
Thanks Tina!!!

This is very true!!

Hugs for you both. Sorry about your haunt. Your neighborhood just does NOT know what they are missing!
Hopefully we can still bring them some joy in December :)
The rain looked so really, great job on the illusion.

Thanks!
Yeah, didn't think it was a good idea to have Jeana working in the rain all weekend, gotta think of the lil one now ;)
Just have fun with your family and friends, and have a Happy Halloween. I will watch for what you do for Christmas too.
Thanks Patricia :)
Please,Christmas!!!! I live all the way in Wisconsin, and would love too see Hollywood haunter go Christmas!
Will do :) Thanks for the encouragement!

These things happen, you are still awesome and GROOVY!

Well, you might be able to change the witch's hut into Santa's house. But I still can't wait to see your Christmas decorations! Happy Halloween!
Thanks!
I hope you guys get a do over this year.
Raining like crazy here too. Hopefully things will dry out for TOTing. Our haunt is in our garage. I finished today! Can't wait to see your holiday display! Krampus? 😉
WOO HOO!!!
All the videos have been great! All the things you've made look awesome regardless. Major bummer on not getting to finish so close to Halloween. I hope you two do do some thing for Christmas. I'm not into Halloween at all really other than handing out a ton of candy for the kids, but we really get in to and enjoy decorating for Christmas I just enjoy watching your videos for the how to ideas you guys show, and because you're both good fun people. Thank you so much!!
That facade would make a perfect Santa's Elves house.
:)
I am so sorry that your plans were drowned out! That is awesome!!!!
Christmas!!! Ahhh that's excited but that is unfortunate the rain washed out this Halloween
Yes it stunk :(
Awww....I feel bad for you guys since you were working so hard, but I know you will make it work for Christmas too.
HAHAHA!!! Hope it went really well, I will have to catch up with you this month :)
YES!!! We need to catch up! I slept the entire day yesterday! And all night. And I am in my PJs early tonight too! It is wonderful.
Bless your hearts guys!!! I know you guys never, ever quit. Huge 🤗 🤗 🤗 to you and much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!! I love Hot Tamales too! Would love to see what you guys can build for a Santas grotto ! Good work guys !
Thanks!
Totally awesome!! Love that idea!!!
Great!!!
Congratulations on #7 that's super impressive :) And thank you so much for the kind words!!!
Sorry you guys got rained out. Love all of your videos and all the hard work you put in!
Thank you!
Still awesome guys! Keep up the great work.
Thanks Tom!
I like the gingerbread house idea for Christmas, but I was thinking you could go Hansel/Gretel with it so you could still sneak a witch in.
MUahahahahahaha!!!!
I love this so far! You guys have great ideas!
Thank you!
On a positive note, you guys made me feel a little better about not completing my witch house. I had to cut my losses and set it up without a large portion of the roof. Glad you got to go out and have some fun on Halloween. Your witch house will be awesome whenever you decide to move it out front.

Oh, your ideas are FANTASTIC!!! There is always NEXT YEAR!!! Happy Halloween Mom and Dad!!! :)
Thank you!!!

Sorry about the rain! Hoping you had an awesome Halloween :)
It actually went great Halloween no rain! yoohoo
You could even use those pumpkins for a thanksgiving display?
Yes we could :)
often had to deal with snow when I lived in Denver
Snow would really stink, cold and wet :(
Awww, it's sad you guys didn't get to finish.
HAHA!!! So far there is still a little candy left. But a mound of candy wrappers in the trash can :)
Very cool! Proud of you guys! 🎃
Thank you!
You know...nature unfortunately is killing us all this year but you guys gave it your all...don't stress...do the cottage next year for Halloween AND use it for Xmas as Santa's cottage! :) My kids would love that. You guys are the best. Happy Halloween and enjoy that candy! ;)

Gingerbread house for Christmas. And you can also keep the cottage, and turn it into a play house for the baby, you can put furniture in there etc.
Most awesome playhouse ever! HAHA :)
Don't feel bad. We have been doing a haunt for 6 years straight. We too had to cancel. The only thing we are going to do is set up our screen and play Halloween movies. Please do continue on the cottage. I would really like to see it finished. It would make a great Santa workshop cottage!
Sorry to hear your plans changed as well. We will finish for sure :)
Aww, I was pull'in for you guys too. :( Can't wait to see it finished.
We will get it up and it will be awesome! Thanks for routing for us :)
I'm sooo sad about that😭
Happy Halloween tho 🎃
:)
Now you don't have pressure you can put as many details you want into it! I don't mind as you're still going to finish it I look forward to these videos all the time so I'm kind of glad they're not ending yet 😂😂😂
Yes we will still finish it!
You've had a big, busy year with moving and pregnancy. I think it's okay that you take this Halloween off. The cottage looks great so far though! I look forward to seeing the finished product later on.
Too funny that it hasn't rained here since March and it rains this past weekend LOL!!! Oh well, thank you for the kind words :)
Awww mother nature is always messing with us!! Atleast you get to show some of your work off and you guys will totally rock that other holiday ;P Happy Halloween guys!!!!
Thanks Melissa!!!
Bummer! I can't even imagine.
It stunk :(
Kinda a bummer, but you guys did an amazing job. What are Amber an I planning ?? Well we have to change it up after 3 years of cemetery. We are going west next year. We are selling our display this off season to finance next years. Hope we find a buyer quick.
AWESOME!!!!!
Sorry it's raining and the cottage won't be up in the front yard. I like the idea of a cross between Santa's workshop and Hansel and Gretel's candy house. From across the pond Chris :)
That sounds fun!
You could always make Santa's workshop out of the cottage for Christmas. Sorry for all the rain. Hope you have a great halloween though.
It wasn't too bad after all :)
I have not been this disappointed since I was 12. Bummer. For an old guy I am a big fan. Really.
Oh bummer :(
I live in southern Ohio, and we get rainy Halloweens pretty often. It sucks. I am just going to start building a haunt for next year.
it's okay it always looks good you guys are still the best
Thanks!
it would do Christmas! it could be where a good witch lives and she could have magical pumpkins for princess to get to the ball in style.
Nice idea!
there's always next year. I was curious, with your past Halloween haunts getting so many kids, how much candy do you pass out per kid?
We hand out 3-5 pieces probably.
So sad! But I must say I was amazed what a big project you decided to do in such a short time. I would have never thought you would get this much done; (unless you have a crew of twelve you never show on camera...) HAVE A happy Halloween! And please keep those videos coming!
Happy Halloween to you as well!!!!
Sounds awesome!!! Yeah we are in Simi and it rained off and on all weekend. Then it was beautiful Halloween day :P
For christmas, you guys should do Santa's cottage and it should be something that you can walk into!
You could reuse some of the Parts from the witchs cottage, like the chimmeny!
We will use the whole cottage and dress it up for sure :)
This is absolutely amazing, I'm so sorry to hear that terrible news that you can't put the Halloween display up, anyways I have an idea, you could use the house for a hansel and gretel themed Christmas yard display at Christmas
That's what we are thinking, could be a lot of fun :)
We have also had to accept that we won't be completely set up by Halloween. I decided to give up trying before I was forced to give up. Sad day, but we do it for the fun and creativity, not just the day of Halloween.
Exactly :)
Should move to OC... no rain here today :)
Really??? Oh man, we are packing our bags haha!
I feel sorry for you guys! I know how you guys feel! It rained the last 2 Halloweens at our house. This year it looks good for a change so wish us luck!
Hope it was awesome!!!
Yours got rained out and I spent mine in a hospital bed!!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOO Halloween for me!!! Those darn blood clots!
OH NO!!! Hope you are feeling better and back home now.
Home again and a bit rough around the edges. Listen to your body when it starts talking to you. Even when it whispers at you.
Sorry you couldn't get this done, though now you're miles ahead for 2017!
Right?! :)
You all still rock.
Thank you!!!
AWW I'm so sorry for you guy's :( Happy Halloween to you !
Happy Halloween to you too!!!
Sounds like an awesome display! No facade this Halloween :( But we will be busy working on making it happen in the near future :)
Just an idea: You guys could redress the witches cottage as a ginger bread house
Sounds good to us :)
Awww... I'm sorry :-( but I can't wait to see your Halloween Christmas! I bought all of these new purple led lights that I am determined to use for Christmas in some capacity. I've always wanted to do a Nightmare Before Christmas tree. Maybe this will be the year!
That would be awesome!
That sucks but I know the feeling. But as far as next year I don't know
:)
Here's hoping 2017 to be a better year to all
That sounds wonderful!!
Shucks! Oh well... sometimes plans don't come together like you wanted. That's life. Still great work, guys! :-)
Thanks!
I feel your pain, I got rained out last year after laboring over a cemetery fence and pillars, new stones, and a pet grave yard....sorry guys
Urgh! What a bummer, hopefully you were able to show them off this year :)
Hollywood Haunter unfortunately not, no halloween for me this year at all :(
Sad face, could ever do a castle facade medevil theme.
So will the Witch Cottage become Santa Cottage or Elf Cottage? And could a Bumble happen to be there eating an Elf.... or Santa? Or maybe Krampus... Happy Halloween from Texas y'all!
Bumbles bounce ;)
