ThieAudio GHOST looks interesting, would be great if it can compare favorably against something like the HD560S or HE400SE since those are the two most popular headphones in that price range.
Glad to see you covering headphones that a lot of mainstream reviewers are not talking about (and are not going to). Especially in case of products like the BLON, it is also important to tell people what the bad products are, and not just stick to the happy stuff. Keep up the good work!
Nice to see some headphones content on this channel. I'm liking this. Solid entry from Thieaudio in the headphones space. I feel as though the headphones space isn't nearly as competitive as IEM's, but fingers crossed we see that day too
The headphone market really is due for some disruption… ever since the advent and establishment of brands like Hifiman or Audeze not that much has happened. I hope we’ll see a similar development as with IEMs, meaning better sound quality at decreasing price points.
The reason the iem market gotten so aggressive is because they are extremely popular in asia. The headphones market there is not as viable. This means there are far fewer manufacturers of high performance headphone drivers, ergo, they're relatively expensive. The other problem is, when you get so cheap, the cost of materials becomes dispositional with the quality of the drivers. The cost of materials for iems is basically nothing, so they dominant the budget sector. Until those drivers can be manufactured in the capacity iem parts do, those overheads will prevent pricing from getting any lower, which makes them undesirable for manufacturers, and making those drivers requires new tooling, which is a risk no Chinese fab wants to make because of that market sector.
True. I’m a budget buyer and I got a 9500 and thought that was it until I can afford something more expensive. Since then I’ve gotten into budget IEMs at the just right time and I find that can’t go back to my 9500 without getting disappointed.
@@En_Joshi-Godrez You’re right and I’m well aware of those reasons! But I also see enough of a demand on the headphone side and also the need for manufacturers to diversify their product portfolio because of the ever growing over saturation of the IEM market. Again, great points on your side!
@@slashvanyoung it just costs a serious amount of money. That tooling is the biggest problem right now. No small manufacturer can afford it, and the large ones simply dont need to innovate because there isn't competition. You can see how competitive the iem market is by how much Sennheiser had to bend the knee to how they tune their iems. They entered again the with ie300, and now the ie200 is better than it in every way, while being cheaper. I really hope for that to happen with headphones as they are currently at where iems were at 5 years ago.
Thank you for testing so much gear and thank you too for some beautiful suggestions of headphones. I bought some of your suggestions and I’m really happy with those until today. Your channel saved me a lot of time and money because you divide the market in which is worth to buy or not. And today you started my interest for the Thieaudio Ghost, because I was thinking of buying my first Sennheiser….maybe I will buy the HD600 some days later…. Stay well!
Most of iems thats i owned coming from your collabs and i love it so much ! Thank you for everything for your doing the great jobs.. love your video always hbb !
Looking forwards to comparison with the Ghost. I only got a chance to try the HD600 for a minute or two in NY but I was pretty into it and might get something like it soon.
What’s good bruh! Happy California evening! Love you weighing in on headphones. Are you going to be doing a top at various price points vid? How about the Athen vs the Modhouse Argon. Keep up the great work Mahalos Dr Jeff
I’m hoping 23’ is the year for the budget over-ear open back 🤝 dying to get me a nice pair of open backs. I’m rocking the Samson SR850 for the last year or so and it doesn’t get the job done let’s just say that! The Thie has my attention but the way you speak about the low end in the Athena …. It has my attention!
Loved the quick impressions video! Looking forward to the full reviews of the ghost and athena 😊 probably not a relevant question, but I wanted to know your thoughts on the Sony mdr z1r in 2023…how do they compare to some other recent similar priced closed backs? Thanks. 😊
I am looking forward to your reviews of the Ghost vs Sennheiser (I own a 58x), and would like to know your opinion of the Athena vs the Hifiman sub $200 headphones (4xx or 5xx?). Keep up the great videos.
I saw another reviewer giving that blon a really good review, so I'm a bit confused now, but I guess I'll have to wait for other people to check it out and see what the general impressions are on it. I'll be looking forward to your reviews on the other two though
I keep breaking my headphones, either tossing them when I take off my bag, or just bad construction on the swivels. Always up for a new pair to try! Looking forward to the review!
Man, I hope so. It takes way too much money to get headphones with similarly competent tuning and performance to a $150-200 set of IEMs. And as much as I like some of the reviewers, most of the reviews out there are way too fluffy without actually saying anything.
Of all the headband designs which one is the best that you've tried? The Blon B60 has a similar headband to the Sundara but I've heard that on the Sundara the leather strip could snap off.
These headphones remind me of when I first started in ChiFi. The initial offerings had odd tuning (before I knew of KZ) but within years I started seeing expensive sets that nailed it, now the budget segment's getting the trickle down treatment. I imagine headphones will go a similar way; they need to get a reference going before decent cheaper sets hit the market.
I can't imagine the ThieAudio GHOST will be comparable to the Sennheiser, but then again, Monoprice has done some pretty impressive stuff...can't wait to see your comparison.
Great review, I’m in agreement with most of what you’ve said, but I also think you ought to try it off some desktop amps, and see what these do with more head room.
I've been having so much fun with IEM releases lately it's easy to forget that new stuff keeps rolling out in the headphone market too. Obviously the materials cost means they could never be as cheap but I'll wait patiently for the bargains :)
with so much value in the iem market, its going to be tough for headphones to get much traction, but if any co. can do it ThieAudio have a good shout glad the cough has cleared up!
Similar to others, I'm well into the IEM collection and looking to get more over-ear headphones for the different listening experience. Keep the reviews coming.
I have the HarmonicDyne Athena, they can definitely output bass rumble with a good amp, but not like earthquake or overdone bass, just enough where it feels controlled. Only downside is that while the 1/8" connector cable it comes with is good, its also about 4' length. Almost needs a good 6'+ extension cable, so $180 upfront isn't the real, final cost for making them usable in a lot of cases.
Honestly watching these companies that are famous for their IEMs like the Blons entering the headphone market is really interesting. The headphone business is pretty much open but the RnD is really different from making IEMs. So far Moondrop is getting their head starts in the game IMO

Lets go. Always love your straight forward review.
Most of iems thats i owned coming from your collabs and i love it so much ! Thank you for everything for your doing the great jobs.. love your video always hbb !
love the rapid fire no bs approach to reviewing
I started this journey with headphones (over ear) and you and another reviewer got me hooked on iems and haven't looked back
Looking forwards to comparison with the Ghost. I only got a chance to try the HD600 for a minute or two in NY but I was pretty into it and might get something like it soon.
I really like the candor of your reviews!
Thanks for the review! Just put the Harmonicdyne's in my shopping cart. Looking forward to checking them out.

Great vid it's been a while since I last watch your reviews for the hiby r6 before. One the best one putting out honest content out here.
It's nice to see some headphone content, since entering the iem space I am now looking for some new headphones to try. Looking to the full review
Oh that Athena is more interesting than I thought. I had not realized it was a semi-open, figured it was close and didn't really check it out again.
Excited for the comparison with the sennheisers! Glad to see more options becoming available on the market
Good to see you mixing it up. Thanks Chris 👍
Looking forward to the HarmonicDyne review the most, though also interested in your comparison of the Thieaudio and Sennheiser.
Really interested in Thieaudio's step into the headphone world knowing their amazing job with IEMs. Loved the video, well done!
Awesome video! Looking forward for the comparison!
Looking forward to your comparison between ThieAudio Ghost vs Sennheiser HD560S

I keep hearing about Thieaudio Ghost . Every review has been really good . Interesting
Wish the blon had more of the bl-60 signature, definitely has a better built quality then the bl-60, I need that low end in a headphone! 👍

What’s good bruh!
Happy California evening!
Love you weighing in on headphones.
Are you going to be doing a top at various price points vid?
How about the Athen vs the Modhouse Argon.

Love your suggestions for alternate uses of poor headphones!

The ghost's design is so beautiful 😍👏🏼
Another great quick intro, thanks for the insights. Careful with those Athena's those are face reveal cans, mirror gloss sides.
Good to see some headphones around here!
I've been looking for a new closed back for one of my friends, for cheap, so I'm glad to see more options coming out
Nice having multiple opinions on the blons. Other youtubers hyped them up way too much
Loved the quick impressions video! Looking forward to the full reviews of the ghost and athena 😊 probably not a relevant question, but I wanted to know your thoughts on the Sony mdr z1r in 2023…how do they compare to some other recent similar priced closed backs? Thanks. 😊
Looking forward to the full HarmonicDyne Athena review. 👍
I think the Ghosts look awesome. I didn't even know they made headphones. You learn something new every day.
Love to see you doing more headphone content!
Nice job. Would love to see more headphone videos like this. But I do appreciate all the iem content you put out
Thanks for always giving us, your fans, an opportunity to get nice audio gear. 🙏🏽
Thanks for your videos. Keep up the great work👍
Yes, they are way more special than the first impressions were. They matured into something very different than at first thought!
I am looking forward to your reviews of the Ghost vs Sennheiser (I own a 58x), and would like to know your opinion of the Athena vs the Hifiman sub $200 headphones (4xx or 5xx?). Keep up the great videos.
Short and straight to the point, thanks as usual
Excited for the Athena. I really liked the zeus as a sort of guilty-pleasure headphone for that thicc mid-bass.👍
Definitely interested in the Athena! What headphones do you think will be good for movies? I got the Zeus and definitely not impressed.
Hype. Great video Chris, I hope your weekend was good
Was with my Son...it was fun. Life is good

I was thinking of getting the hd600 headphones, can't wait to see the comparison as the Thieaudio may be worth getting instead.
I saw another reviewer giving that blon a really good review, so I'm a bit confused now, but I guess I'll have to wait for other people to check it out and see what the general impressions are on it. I'll be looking forward to your reviews on the other two though
Thank you for the input you give to the hobby 🎉
Looking forward to a full review of the Thieaudio!
I keep breaking my headphones, either tossing them when I take off my bag, or just bad construction on the swivels. Always up for a new pair to try! Looking forward to the review!
Headphones! Nice change of pace. What's the price for the thieaudio and the Athena?
Awaiting the full review of the Harmonic .
Best wishes from the Canary Islands.
Would be awesome to get the competition and options with headphones as there is with IEMs. Thank you for review
Hope you will review more headphones in the future, many thanks!
i wonder if we're gonna see a budget renaissance with Headphones like we've had with IEMs
It's coming
Man, I hope so. It takes way too much money to get headphones with similarly competent tuning and performance to a $150-200 set of IEMs. And as much as I like some of the reviewers, most of the reviews out there are way too fluffy without actually saying anything.
Harmonicdyne athena fr looks amazing 🔥🔥🔥, waiting for full review.
I was on the fence regarding the IE200 - you've convinced me to "buy" 🙂
Of all the headband designs which one is the best that you've tried? The Blon B60 has a similar headband to the Sundara but I've heard that on the Sundara the leather strip could snap off.
wow didn't know Thieaudio made headphones. Thanks for your input and review
Thank you for this reviews!

I imagine headphones will go a similar way; they need to get a reference going before decent cheaper sets hit the market.

Im really excited about the Athena. Wish the ghost had more low end.
Great review, I’m in agreement with most of what you’ve said, but I also think you ought to try it off some desktop amps, and see what these do with more head room.
Another newbie here, to say thanks very much for this review. A great starting point
I have just purchased the HOLA basses on your review. Thanks.
Love your vids and the work you do. Congrats on your family. Could you check out some of the not so known japanese iems brands? Thanks.
i am team iem, mostly. so I like to hear about headphones every now and then (but I do not know what to suggest for you to review). thanks for this!
Ghost looks like an interesting set. Will wait gor your full review
Thank goodness - some information/impressions on the Athena!
I've been having so much fun with IEM releases lately it's easy to forget that new stuff keeps rolling out in the headphone market too. Obviously the materials cost means they could never be as cheap but I'll wait patiently for the bargains :)
Hi great video do you believe in headphone burn in
Love to see those kind of headphones once in a while !
Another great straightfoward review
As always, thank you for the video
Can't wait for the 560S comparison video. I'm curious about side-grading since the Zeos video.
with so much value in the iem market, its going to be tough for headphones to get much traction, but if any co. can do it ThieAudio have a good shout
glad the cough has cleared up!
Hi! Raptgo Hook x HBB or Athena. Who has better soundstage ?
iem tech is advancing faster than headphones in my opinion. Glad we have similar tastes. Really helps me to make decisions.
the gold trim on ghost is somehow classy and gaudy at the same time i love it haha
These things are looking crazy! can't wait to hear peoples impressions
Similar to others, I'm well into the IEM collection and looking to get more over-ear headphones for the different listening experience. Keep the reviews coming.
The harmonicdyne out of all these is probably the best one for me considering I also really enjoy my bass

Thank you for all your great work.
Can't wait for the full review for those set 😆😆
I'm curious too, when we will have available really good headphones for budget.
Waiting for headphone reviews a lot and finally came
Design looking great!
Thanks for your Honest opinions ,great vid 👍
