Airborne air traffic lights at night (airframe strobes, nav, landing and taxi lights) are far to dim in 2024 vs. MSFS 2020. Pretty sure a mod will eventually be published to correct that. So far have flown tens of thousands of miles in 2024. Don't see myself goin back to 2020 much at all.
That's a great observation about the lights, we're hoping the developers will address some of these lighting concerns. We're eager to see id any mods come out for the new sim to address this!
Hey the reason why you do not have the airspeed for the fs24, is maybe you left the covers for the airspeed indicators on the fuselage. One you remove the pitot covers your airspeed will be back. Great video by the way.
yeah I definitely realized that afterwards, I think I mumbled I think I left the cover on! LOL thats actually pretty cool that it will simulate that, so kuddos to them on that! Now I know I need to do a better walkaround before flying! Thanks for the support!
fs2024 runway and taxi lights are way too big and bright with those glowing orbs ( check of EGSS for example ). Also - loads of blue floating edge lights at many many airports. which you can see for miles away at thousands of feet, which is totally unrealistic. FS2020 beats it in terms of runway/taxi lights for sure..
totally agree, way too bright, and some weird blur around each bulb... just look in real life with own eyes, and notice it's not really like that... the light should be like in MSFS2020 + some 'old effect' or something, then would be perfect
It was pretty bad during opening day, thats for sure, but im not having any other issues as of now. I think, just like when 2020 was released, its a great base to create something even more special than what 2020 is. What things would you want to see improved over the 2020 version?
Looking out my 30th story condo not far from YYZ I note that the suburban residential areas are not that bright like in 2024. They are way more like the dark areas of cul-de-sacs in 2020. It seems like the floating orbs in 2024 are casting too much light. Believe me, we have plenty of light pollution and as an amateur astronomer, I've watched the city gets worse over the last half century...and yet it still isn't that bright in tree covered suburban blocks. And they still have the control tower interiors lit up so that the controllers are handicapped trying to see outside through reflections in the glass making situational awareness of aircraft movements at night unnecessarily difficult. P.S. many thanks for this well executed video.
thank you so much for your support and input! Yeah, the more I look at it, the orbs are a bit too excesively bright, but at the same time I feel like the FS2020 lighting is a bit flight. Maybe a happy medium in the future?! We shall see!
@@thatflightsimchannel Yes, I agree. It does seem like 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. I am hoping that fiddling with some settings may make a difference including those in the game, GPU software filters and my monitor settings. Cheers!
@@thatflightsimchannel Fucking shit MSFS 2024, why even release it? I got so many fucking bugs, like my nosewheel not turning enough in the Airbus A330 and sound not working. and so so much more It's almost unplayable.
Hey are you not getting the sounds on the outside? or just in the inside? I thought I was experiencing this and I had simulated headset set to on which pretty much turns down all the external noises. I thought I was having issues with the sound.
in all honesty, that was the plan! once I started editing the video though, by cropping and putting them side to side, you lose a lot of detail and then its almost pointless. Ill try better next time though. thanks for the input!
I do agree that there are some details that are missing, but I believe that developers for sceneries and airports do rectify these issues. We cant really pretend that MSFS will by default get AAAAALLLLL the specific airport lighting correct.
The autogen trees are fake looking. One has to fly in a known area to realize how bad they are. Where is photogrammetry? The Longitude has major issues. Been flying it for 4 years now. What a hot mess. Local airports suck big time.

@ Yea exactly. They went the extra mile for many aspects this time.

2020 looks darker but you can't deny how disastrous 2024 is at the moment I really hope to see major improvements soon

Thank goodness I didn't buy this! Its like buying 2020 all over again. Total trash.
do you prefer msfs 2020 over 2024?
Yea junk.
@@thatflightsimchannel Neither...both trash.
@@DavidBarnes-d7t which one you consider junk? both?
24 is way too blurred, like a bad astigmatism. There's no way to turn bloom off. Also, all my cockpit displays at night are completely washed out.
This! I thought it was only me! The washed out lights inside the cockpit are pretty annoying to be honest. Let’s see if they get it fixed

The lights are brighter thats for sure but the frame of the lights i dont know how to say it in english that part is missing in 2020 you can see that.
We speak spanish! you can tell us so we can understand what you are saying and share that info with the rest of the viewers
Is there a red flashlight? The night time looks very immersive
that would actually be cool, maybe a mod or an update to change the flashlight color lol. Yeah night flying is very immersive and impressive!
Why is this even a thing? Is the 20 version actually finished?
I dont think any sim is ever finished!
I see walking through plane wings is a thing...
lmao! yes! bothered me a bit, but it is what it is! they need to put some roomba sensors on the ground crew so they avoid obstacles lol
A sis by side would be better to judge
in all honesty, that was the plan! once I started editing the video though, by cropping and putting them side to side, you lose a lot of detail and then its almost pointless. Ill try better next time though. thanks for the input!
lol still has floating lights. No proper yellow runway entry lights. Same as 2020. Such trash

Yeah, I agree, there are local airports that I fly in and out of alot and notice some discrepencies for sure. hopefully they get fixed up soon!
Nice job 2020 night time is trash compared to 2024 - luv night in 2024
Aside the chaos on the first day (which was pretty much the same for 2020 release) I am enjoying the new sim! and the night lights are great!
