We've been hinting at this for months, and it's finally time for our BIG news announcement! We bought a Tiny House in Nova Scotia, Canada!
Our Tiny House is currently under construction in New Brunswick and will be delivered to Cape Breton in a few weeks. In this video we take you on a tour of a Tiny House that will be very similar to ours. We talk about what will be the same and how it will be different. We discuss the size, colours and layout of our own tiny home. The tiny house we show you is on Lake Ainslie in Cape Breton.

Having lived in a log house with the golden pine interior I’m sooo glad to hear you are going for a white washed finish. Please think about priming the knots. They will darken and possibly even “bleed” some pine sap. I’d be happy to show you pics. Best of luck. What a fun project.

I’m based currently based in Calgary, but I grew up in small towns in BC and NB (random, I know.) I also lived in Inverness for a few months (during Katimavik) and really loved Cape Breton. Such a charming place. Halifax is a great city, too!
And that nice, thick “ar” that keeps coming out in your speech is so nostalgic and endearing to me (bAR, apARt, bARbecue… like music to my ears 😁😁😁)
Congrats Anna and Trevor! Love the tiny home! I love to make quesadillas on the barbecue. I use a wire basket with a long handle that locks the food in so I just flip the basket to toast both sides. I actually bought it at the dollar store 😊

Hello again. I am quite new to your videos. I must tell you how much I appreciate your video style, and your Nova Scotia style. I’ve just watched a couple of your Cape Breton videos from this spring or maybe earlier. I’ve seen some comments praising you for being such great tourism guides. They are completely right. You embody our own Cape Breton welcome. I was born and grew up in that amazing village of Margaree. I live elsewhere in NS now but will never be far away from the North side of Cape Breton.
I can’t believe I’ve taken so long to find your work but I’m certainly glad I’ve found it now. Your new tiny home will be absolutely perfect for you and am so pleased to hear you will be sharing all its unique charm with others. Glad our world is beginning to come out of its cocoon after such a period in our history and those of us who love to explore and discover our world near and far will be able to wander again.
WOW! *Congratulations!* (I guessed correctly LOL!) This is going to be so exciting! I'm looking forward to the new content - especially the tiny house decorating videos! I had so much fun creating and furnishing mine. One thing you might want to consider is having solar panels installed and then shopping for small 2 or 3 way RV appliances. They save space and money.

Exciting stuff guys! Next chapter to your lives. I’ve stayed in an eco tiny house recently in the U.K. and have got so much inspiration for a dream of owning one or maybe even a shepherds hut have you heard of those in Canada? Have been following you for a while now and you seemed so downhearted when you couldn’t travel but this will be a great project for you until you can again. Nova Scotia is beautiful and we would definitely love to visit when we are able. Good luck to you both you deserve it xx

Congrats! Our nephew and wife built a tiny home overlooking Port Hood harbour. They love it and so do guests. Hope you set yours up in Cape Breton. Lake Ainslie is absolutely beautiful so hope yours will be somewhere in the area.

Since getting my air fryer I haven’t used my oven. I would suggest just doing that! Especially as it’s only the 2 of you

The wood stove is excellent for dealing with the moisture that builds up in tiny houses. Also great for heating.

My friend is from Little Bra'dor (spelling?) and the only time I've been to CB was when his parents kindly hosted us for a dart around the Cabot Trail but I loved it. What a lovely place to be.

You guys should check out Hand in Hand thrift store in spryfield for some home decor, kitchen gear, bedding etc. for your tiny home! They have so much random things and pretty affordable. I find it’s the cheapest thrift store around Halifax that I’ve visited. It’s so exciting to take on this new adventure ! Happy for you both

If you do the same stair configuration you can do the small fridge up top like this one, but build a slide out shelf in the cubby below and put a small cube freezer that you can pull out to access if it's a top opening freezer. Not everyone wants to run to the grocery store every couple days to get groceries when they could go once and toss meats in the freezer! In the loft, instead of all shelves keep one section for hanging and shelves on the other side. You certainly don't want to have to iron all the time when you keep everything folded. I've watched small home videos where they do a hanging wardrobe under the stairs as well. I would caution you on doing a bar height stool eating area. There are allot of people that don't find them comfortable because they are shorter or have balance issues. I'd keep it normal height and do shorter stools. For the quesadillas next time fold the two sides on either side of the cut, up, then fold in half, you won't have open edges that way. A trick to keep them stuck together is to put cheese in between the last fold as well.

Lovely spot there on the lake, and the tiny house was quite. . .nice. . .but. . .I would NOT find that kind of living delightful. I'd be bat crap crazy within a day. Just for next time🤗 if you put the meat in the second quarter, you end up with meat more to the centre and the wetter ingredients on the outside, helps bind the edges to flip them easier 😁 but they still look yummy 😃
