I've never exclaimed out-loud before when it comes to how good a bass sounds - holy low end lobsters this thing sounds AMAZING! Your videos are also brilliantly done, super groovy my friend!
Thanks for the honest review! I felt the same way about MTD's, just aware of them and their players, not really giving them a second glance for whatever reason... then I got to try one out at a store and it blew my mind! They've got something special in the midrange that makes them sound totally unique.
Another great review! Your comments are always insightful & specific, you go over all of the important stuff, and you provide a great variety of sounds…exactly what a good review should contain. Well done, my friend!
I’ve watched this video more than once, I must admit ! Your videos are just excellent, my brother . That MTD sounds GODLY🔥 I just got my first MTD USA 635 a few months ago … word’s can’t describe how great these things are when they get in your hands . Keep up the good work ! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
One of the best reviews of this bass I’ve seen ,I really like how you’re explaining settings as you play 👏👏,, question what is your input on the sire v7 Marcus Miller
Not only do you pique my interest for MTD, but now I am certain I need an IE Nimbus... This could be further evidence for an upcoming love-hate-relationship with your channel :D Keep up the good work!
Can I get my 14 minutes and 52 seconds of my life back please??? The devil that is hondo is making buy one of these now. Poor pbass in the back is pissed off I bet at the mtd??? Great vid and killer bass.
I played a 535 24 @ SWR's factory many years ago- #29 if memory serves me, and am still convinced it is the best bass my hands ever touched. I've been playing more than 50 years. I currently play a Sire V7 5 string.
You won't ever find a lack of quality from a US MTD. The NY luthiers produce great basses; MTD, Fodera, Sadowsky, and Spector are all wonderful instruments. Great and articulate review as always!
Cool demo, enjoyed seeing it with the effects too. You play with a great feel. I want a MTD so bad... I played Kingston MTD for awhile but the 19mm spacing is a little much for me on a 5. I really want a 17mm USA Super 5.
Ooh. Apart from anything else, I have one bass with those soapbar style pickup covers and I really like the feeling of playing over them. As well as being able to get in between them - I'm not ready for a ramp 😉
This bass sounds like it looks: just great! I never heard or read anything negative about a bass who ran through Michael Tobias´ hands while being build! He seemed to be one of those rare luthiers who have found the Holy Grail in bass-building! Sadly I never had the chance to play one .... but maybe one day in a sudden relapse of G.A.S. ;-)
Yea these things are special! I have one of my own now and I’m in love 😂. They are definitely expensive, but they are built like something I’d hand down to my kids after I’ve played my last note 🤘🏽
Awesome, but there is something I don’t get…the Mid Frequency Selection affects the tone even tho the mid level is flat ? How is that ? Isn’t it supposed to be minimal ?
Definitely my favourite make. Will have to settle for my Kingston super 5 though as with 4 kids and a mortgage...a USA model just not going to happen!!
Yea i totally get that. The prices are nuts. This is definitely aimed at people with disposable income or pros that will earn their money back. I can safely say that this one of the few crazy expensive basses I've played that made me say "Ok...i get it."
i love the looks of the bass, but i’m just not a fan of modern bright tones with a lot of clank. Sounds great, just not for me. Still an awesome video though!
20 years and 10 MTD’s later, now you’re feeling why they’re my go-to’s 🙌🔥🖤
Absolutely! Monstrous basses. I need one ASAP lol

Thank you, and thanks for watching! This bass definitely left a serious impression on me.
That was a brilliant review for a buyer from overseas who can’t try before he buys. You didn’t waste a word. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words! So glad you liked it!🤘🏽
Never come across your channel before. Good review man. Never played an MTD either but they’ve been on my radar for a few years.
Glad you dug it! They were on my radar for a long time. Playing this one made me buy one. My ears are happy. My wallet, however 😭

Beautiful bass and great tone! The background music is amazing and the bass sounds fantastic in the mix!!!
Much appreciated! Thank you for watching 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great review as always! You the man!

Man, you channel is amazing. Just found you today. Binge worthy RUclips. Well done man, very pro.
Glad you dig it! Let me know if you have any favorites, and thanks for watching!
Wow. Love the Bass. That classic MTD sound…. Awesome!
Has to wait almost 12minutes for Fuzzy loveliness. Worth it. Great review.
Sorry, I'll get to fuzz faster next time 🤣

Thanks for watching and congrats on that new MTD! I just got one of my own recently and oof! It's so good!
@@HondoFelder dude!! We gotta have a video on that !
@@_B_E_A_D_G_C absolutely!

I haven’t played the newest ones, but i have found the sires to generally be really good for the money. 🤘🏽
Oh man
. What a beautiful bass .. I was just looking at a similar colored sire bass earlier today.. thx for the awesome demos
Damn that thing sounds good!

Haha that is high praise. Thanks!

love your playing..and oh ya ..thats a nice bass..keep the good stuff coming
Super high quality review!
That’s a really versatile EQ onboard. And it looks friggin GORGEOUS!
That EQ is one of the best onboard EQs I've ever heard. Easy.
Now THAT is a bass! Looks incredible :D
Looking forward to having an MTD built for me .

Adding "good burp" to my bass & engineering lexicon now.
You should, because science. lol Thanks for watching my friend!
If only every bass review was like this
I was surprised at the bonus clips. It could totally do the prog clank thing with the right setup. I always think of them as clean machines.
Right? I was super impressed with the versatility. I ended up ordering one for myself lol.

No, the mids don’t do anything at “flat”. At 0% they were cut. Thats why switching the mid center point makes a difference 🤙🏽
@@HondoFelder oh okay, makes sense.
To me, since it is boost & cut (+/-), the value 0 would mean: set flat.
Thanks for answering.

The archetype of bass demo videos
You sir, are too kind!
Pickups scream “bartolini!”
What are the woods in it? Looks like a quilted maple top, maybe a roasted birdseye board? Please comment. It wasn't in your vid.
You have a good eye! Quilted maple top, northern ash body, maple neck, roasted birdseye maple board....I am fairly sure. 😬
Alright Hondo, this B string vs your Serek 😂
Was this with stock MTD strings?
Yup!
I got a Mtd 535-24 for sale
subscribed :)

Appreciate the kind words! Definitely not a tone for everyone. I was honestly surprised how much I liked it when I started using it in mixes.
